From the nurses to the doctors, they all care about people and being a safe and welcoming place to be treated. The wait to be seen and treated is quick. They want you feeling better as soon as possible. I 100% recommend this place.

My husband and I have both had fantastic experiences at Tucson ER & Hospital. I went this last…read moreFriday for severe knee pain. I'd been having issues but couldn't get into an ortho until June. The pain got worse after we'd been traveling. They suspected a blood clot, so they ran a lab test and had results in under an hour. Due to a high reading, they needed to do an ultrasound, and also decided to do an x-ray and MRI since I'd had problems for the past 5 months. All of these tests were done right there in under 4 hours. The wait was only for lab and radiology reports. Dr. Tarr was thorough, knowledgeable, and the kind of doctor you want to see. He visited with me 3 separate times about test results, answered all of my questions, and not once did I feel like he was in a hurry. He explained my knee issues and recommended a follow up with an ortho. A CD was provided in a folder with my MRI and xray info plus paper copies of the analysis for me to see. We had a similar experience 2 years ago with my husband's back issue. No waiting, helpful professionals, clean and quiet facility. (There's also a small, inpatient hospital but we haven't used that.) Another positive is that they offer outpatient services like MRI, x-ray, and blood tests. With a dr order, you could most likely schedule same or next day. You can also pay out of pocket for these and the prices seem very reasonable. Costs are published on their website. (Example, an MRI right now is $550.) I like that kind of transparency plus easy scheduling and minimal wait. The only negative is that since they are physician owned, they can't charge Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, or AHCCSS due to a federal rule. But if you have private/commercial insurance, this is definitely the place to go! 100% recommend!

The first nurse was very friendly and helped me and my daughter, the RN who came in to take blood after the Dr saw me was a mess, he had and attitude and slammed some the test vials on the cart. I asked be it in serious pain in my abdomen and chest if everything was ok, he say yes why, I stated well you do not seem like a happy human right now. He replied no that is just who I am. OK so maybe not work with people who are just seeking help and need answers, I understand not everyone that comes to the ER is a nice person but I really don't want someone who is trying to help to be that moody, sorry. You area a nurse and we look to you for support and help. The Reason for the 2 stars is because I was there for hours while they still tried to figure out what was wrong, and trying to transport me to the NWMC on Houghton and Old Spanish Trail, the evening nurse was very kind and cared about my well being. He did his best to help, and finally he gave me oxygen to help with the heart and oxygen monitors to stop going off over and over. There was another issue I am not sure which hospital it was but the phone system had gone out so the ER could not reach anyone at the Houghton location to get me moved. How does this happen in 2025. WTH It turned out I had double pneumonia, that was found the next day after two more CT Scans.

The situation didn't improve so we went to Tucson Medical Center ER at 4:30 p.m. yesterday. My daughter is multiply diabled. She was told that they would do a fleet enema and hydrate her. After waiting until 9:30, the procedure was started. It was somewhat successful and she was told that the staff would perform a more aggressive enema. So, she was placed in a private ER room at 10:45 ish. We waited and waited. I asked the nurse 3 times when the nurses would be in to attend to my daughter. Each time I was told that they were making their way through the patients and that the ER was very busy. The 3rd time the nurse told me that the team would be in shortly and that they had the meds ready for the second procedure. We waited and waited. A nurse came in and I mentioned to her that we had been in the private room for 2 1/2 hours waiting with no updates. She left the room. The doctor came in and said that there was a problem with communication between she and the nurses. She said that they had determined that there was no blockage and that my daughter would be released and she should do her own procedures at home-and besides they needed the room for other people who were much sicker than she was. All of this after waiting for 2 1/2 hours. She w as clearly angry. She sssuggested that she could give another enema and have my daughter wait in the waiting room and use the waiting room bathroom!! (which was also dirty) We made the decision to leave. Checked out and went home at 3:00 a.m. - after 10 hours of waiting and waiting. The ER was dirty and very cold. Curtains were torn, floors were dirty and vending machines didn't work. Had to ask for a warmed blanket while I was in the waiting room. Communication was very poor with both patient and staff. The doctor was clearly trying to get rid of my daughter going into detail about how sick the other patients were putting the blame on her instead of the poor communication that they have internally. We will never return to this ER. I will be reviewing the bill when we get it.
