The candy was remarkable. The service was pleasant, it was my 1st time there and she was very helpful. I liked the Judah dark chocolate, and the red lips dark chocolate. The truffles were light and scrumptious. The ambiance feel was delicate and fancy. I liked the chocolate store I'll be coming back.

Yumm! Well my Friends this is the real Deal!

I 1st met Jill and Jean Mickel at Chocolats du CaliBressean Shoppe in Carpinteria when driving the Carp Shuttle for the special 1st Friday event. So my Love of Chocolate and their unique approach to Chocolats I quickly became a fan and a member of the Chocolate club! Kinda like a Wine club but with Chocolate When Jean Mickel became a US citizen he and Jill threw a Party complete with the Hot Dog guy Bill's All American Hot Dog cart. Oh what a Great Day! We can get our Chocolate fix in many ways and this is a Unique Chocolat experience. And I highly recommend it! Ronnie S

My guy brought home to me a box of chocolates from this place for Valentine's Day. Wow WOw WOW!!! Amazing. Each piece (except maybe one or two) tasted absolutely delicious!! They are crafted so well too. The flavors are amazing. My favorite, Passionfruit filled chocolate truffle. If in the area, you MUST check this place out. I wish they were closer to where we live. But then again, I don't because then we'd be there too often. :)

Welcome to Chocolats du Calibressan from the friendly staff. 01 February 2022

Ah, chocolate -- one of life's simple pleasures. Whether you like it dark, milk, or white, there is something so satisfying and decadent about enjoying some chocolate. Chocolats du Calibressan is easily accessable off the 101 freeway in Carpinteria in an industrial park. Don't let the exterior appearance deter you from entering into the wonderful world of chocolate creations by French Chocolatier Chef Jean-Michel Carré. Upon entering their chocolaterie, a vision of flavor and excellence, one's eyes & senses will be stimulated by the amazing sights within the cases, and gracing displays. The appearance of their chocolates are some of the most creative and unique I've seen. The variety of flavorings are extremely extensive and creative as well. The inviting and intoxicating aroma of warm chocolate permeated the air. Behind the counter, through a small window can see a glimpse of the chocolate creation chamber with the Master Chocolatier at work. We saw the Chef busily preparing a fresh batch of confections to replenish his quickly disappearing treats. At this time, to ensure the safety of customers and staff, only four customers are allowed inside the store at any given time. Masks are required for entry. The staff ensures no chocolate product is touched by a bare hand. One may select from individual handmade truffles, bonbons, original & custom chocolate creations, as well as boxed sets and gift baskets -- shipping is available. They also offer a variety of pre-packaged items such as hot chocolate, chocolate covered fruits and nuts, chocolate sauce for topping one's favorite desserts or pleasures, and oh so much more! You can't buy happiness, but you can buy chocolate!

The smell of chocolate fills your nose once you open the door. It immediately puts you in a happy mood and will make you smile. The tiny shop is filled with confections that you will not know what to get. You will crouch down at the candy counter and you will want to read all the candy descriptions. Every piece is unique and different. The chocolate are works of art and are absolutely beautiful. If you get this is a gift, consider yourself blessed to know that someone took the time to pick the box out for you. Jean Michel and his wife Jill put their heart and soul into these chocolates and you can see and taste it. They are great people and a wonderful asset to the Carpinteria community. You need a special order, Jean Michel will make it custom. One visit will have you hooked and if you are a chocolate lover like me, you will settle of no less.

We had visited the Santa Barbara store a couple of years ago, but thanks to Covid (I'm assuming), they closed that location. Nevertheless, we still love their chocolate, and we knew there was main store in Carpenteria, although we had never been to it. On the last leg of our very recent road trip, we finally descended upon the Carpenteria Chocolats du Calibressan. We bought a nice assortment of chocolates, ranging from fruit infused to caramel, bon bons to truffles. To be honest, we haven't eaten them yet, but we know from past experience, they are outstanding. We look forward to tasting them soon because they are the highest quality chocolates.

A sweet birthday stop with good friends. These French chocolates are simply incredible: curry/coconut, champagne, Sichuan pepper/orange, balsamic, geranium, dark chocolate/lemoncello, earl gray, etc. Located in a small business park loaded with worthy stops: Rincon Mtn Winery, Brew Lab, Carpinteria Wine ship and more.

And it's a such a cute little cafe and a quiet town, we have been itching to go back ever since, to try more of their food items and of course get more coffee :).

Though the shop was cute, clean, and had a lovely covered patio outside, I wouldn't recommend it for those stopping by for coffee on road trips. I got a seasonal spring drink called the Irish Cream Mocha and asked for it iced. Unfortunately, it just tasted like chocolate milk. Now, I like a good chocolate milk, but not when I paid for a specialty flavored mocha! I didn't detect an Irish cream flavor or even a hint of mocha. As a latte, it was way too milky and lacked the depth of an espresso drink. Contrary to its description on the menu, it wasn't balanced at all. How misleading. My friend tried one of the craft energy drinks, and it looked pretty, but she said that it was flat and tasted kinda meh. She also got a visually-appealing soda, which apparently tasted much better compared to the energy drink. Another friend ordered the seasonal Dulce de Leche Latte, and she mentioned that it was a bit too light-tasting as a latte. That checks out since my mocha also seemed like it was missing the coffee component haha. Her latte did taste like a caramelly drink made with actual dulce de leche, but she didn't appreciate that the "light" dusting of cinnamon was more like a heaping teaspoon of it thrown into the drink. We noticed that our receipts showed a higher price than what was printed on the menus. We only found out after paying and reviewing the receipts that they charge $0.75 for making drinks iced. We weren't informed of this charge by any of the ladies at the registers upon ordering, and we didn't see any signs stating that iced drinks would incur an additional charge. No explanation anywhere. Another thing that threw me off was when a certain barista handed off the completed drinks in the pickup area. She wasn't wearing gloves, and I don't think she washed her hands in-between tasks, but she was placing the drinks onto the counter while holding them by the top part, aka the lid from where people drink! I was shocked at how unbothered she was while doing that, as if that's how she was trained, or she was never corrected.

For those who are familiar with the show Schitt's Creek, I would compare Lost & Found to Rose Apothecary. Instead of David and Patrick, you have two sisters named Susan and Patty who warmly welcome you in. While one could describe it as a 'general store,' others would think it isn't so 'general'. It is a communal coffee shop in that making that hopes to allow everyone to "come in and find themselves." The ultimate goal is to be open seven days a week selling a wide variety of things, including: -Specialty dark roast French coffee with milk -Freshly made goodies (including chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and an assortment of chocolate-dipped ginger, apricots and more) -Home decor and products (lotions, candles, fragrances) -Locally made art pieces, stationery and more! You can't help but notice the space's focal point of a gorgeous tropical-framed painting or all the local art that yells "Carpinteria!" I am truly excited to see this business grow and expand with the plans to have outdoor seating--particularly during these difficult times.
