This yelp is way long over due!! This is by far the friendliest and tastiest crepe place in LA & OC. I have been coming here for almost 2 years and the customer service always seems to amaze me. The first time I came, I was craving crepes like I had when traveling UAE. (3 years ago) and I had tried a place in Orange County that didn't seem to quite amazing me as many Yelper's were suggesting (to each their own opinion) ... it seemed their crepes were over cooked?? Minimal fruit and toppings that you pay extra for each fruit requested and the staff weren't helpful.... then I had ChocoFruit and WOW, really generous with their portions as my experience in UAE was. I went a second time and was greeted by a friendly employee named Hany, he asked if it was my first here. I said no but my second time here. He seemed real happy about my return. He made me what I consider to be my FAVORITE MENU OPTION :) Choco Fruit Waffle with light Belgium chock, yummmm! Hany made me my order and again, they really hook you up with portion! This place is really hidden in the corner of a small plaza. It's actually part of a restaurant. At first I thought the tent setup outside was an outdoor swap meet. Turns out it's part of their restaurant. The tent hides the name of the place. Why would you cover up your own signage? Another problem with the restaurant is that they also serve hookah. So there are people who are literally smoking cigarettes also in the eating area. Leave your children, allergies and breathing disorder at home. Anyways, the dessert. I ordered the sushi because the waffles were going to take 20 minutes. It's a very long time for dessert. And I get it they only had three people working. But that's a long time. Came here after a long day at Disney and after a dinner at In-n-Out (in the same plaza). I really feel like I have a separate stomach for dessert, haha. My friend and I ordered the Nutella bubble waffle (Nutella version for $6.99; Belgian version is $7.99) and the special Belgian crepe ($8.99). It was slightly inconvenient to eat the Nutella bubble waffle since it's in a cone shape and holder, but the ice cream that came with it didn't melt easily. It pretty much retained its shape while we ate the bubble waffle. The bubble waffle was crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and delicious all around. The special Belgian crepe has a pretty design on it but it is very, very, VERY chocolate-y and can be overwhelming. I recommend getting a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with it (extra charge). Again, the ice cream doesn't melt too easily which is a relief because it makes it easier to eat. Will definitely come here again if I'm ever in the area! read more

They also serve Mediterranean food. I'll have to try that next time. The place is a hidden location in a Stater Bros plaza. They have a large area for outdoor seating under a tent. Staff are practicing Covid19 protocols. Its a good place but not fancy, so don't expect that. If you just want to try the food and not mind anything else, then you'll be okay with this place. The free parking; clean, well lit restaurant; and friendly, patient staff were all appreciated! In the corner by the trash can, was a table with 5 varieties of soy sauce (for the poke), napkins, and utensils... just help yourself! That's convenient! There are so many variations of crepes, waffles, and bubble waffles with ice cream, fresh fruit, and toppings such as whipped cream, granola, and chocolate sauce... it's a good idea to have all of those displays! It's one thing to have a picture menu, and to go another step and provide the customer with samples (even though it's plastic food) shows thoughtfulness! I would have never ordered sushi crepes, but I saw the display. It's a bit misleading because I thought each sushi would have a whole strawberry on the top. Instead, there was only one slice of strawberry per sushi. Also, inside each sushi was fresh banana. I guess the display can't show the inside of each crepe since the pieces are covered with the toppings. It was an interesting dessert that came with a scoop of ice cream since the current promotion is: a free scoop of ice cream with each crepe order. We got the mint chocolate chip which was a refreshing choice! I liked this place! If I was still hungry, I could have gone over to the poke side to get some savory eats! They took 20 minutes just to take our order (we were standing around the counter just waiting, they refused to even acknowledge us). It's kind of a confusing place. It shares the space with PokeSpot, and also offers Acai bowls/drinks, along with their mainstay, the Crepe. We drove right by without even realizing they were in this location because they didn't have any prominent sign, besides sidewalk sign and a hanging banner. Inside, it was just as confusing as one side of the store had pictures of Poke and food and the other side had pictures of dessert and other sweets. It was like the store couldn't make up its mind on what it wants to be... We decided to get the special Belgian crepe, as it seemed like a good "intro" to what Chocofruit had to offer. Aesthically, it looked nice with the chocolate drizzle sign but we knew just by looking at it that it was gonna be a heavy dessert. We dived right in and the first few bites were good, but the sweetness of it became too much. The chocolate and drizzle overpowered the light crispy texture and neutral taste of the crepe so that all we tasted was chocolate... and more chocolate. The vanilla ice cream that we added helped with cutting that taste but overall it was just a plate of sugar. My suggestion is to add NUTS. Crushed peanuts, almonds, walnuts, WHATEVER. The crunchiness and natural saltiness of nuts can really help cut that overbearing sweetness of the chocolate. As with all things in life, too much of one thing can be bad for you. That showed in this Belgian crepe. It was all sweet but offered not much else. Two bites in and we were done. The ambiance of the restaurant was quaint and charming, the service was extremely friendly and the owner Hani waa such a gentleman. He checked on us and then gave us free vanilla ice cream! (Except this time they forgot to add the lotus so they gave it to me on the side. They have a menu, but they can make any crepe you like. The place is located in the little Arabia restaurant. Plenty of tables to eat in and the staff is friendly. The only minus star they get is because they don't give free water and their bottled water is pricey. I feel like the pineapples doesn't really go that well with the crepe though. The crepe is really soft but almost as if it needed some kind of texture to enhance it a bit more. Upon coming into the store, it seemed like they don't know what covid is because it was jam packed outside with no social distancing. The place is in the corner of a bigger restaurant. We decided to get the Nutella Fruit Crepe and the Lotus with Nutella Crepe. The lady working the counter was confused about the Lotus with Nutella Crepe when it was an option on the menu. She was pretty rude as well. There is a sign next to the counter that said check in 10% off and FREE ice cream. When I checked my receipt again, the lady didn't take off the 10% even though she stood there and saw me click the redeem button. I went back to her and told her I didn't receive the 10% off or the free ice cream that was on the sign. She then proceeded to tell me that the free ice cream is only if you leave a review. So don't believe all the reviews on here, it's probably to get free ice cream since they charge you $3 for a small scoop of ice cream. Also not sure how you can leave a review before you even try the item. Make sure you check your receipt or else they will over charge you. While waiting, we saw so many unsanitary practices. Workers were pulling their masks down as they serve food and some didn't even have masks while walking into the restaurant. The cooks pulled down their masks as they were making the food as well. Only gave one star because the Nutella Fruit Crepe was okay. If you order anything to go that has sauce, be careful because they douse the whole crepe with the sauce and it gets soggy and spills everywhere in the bag.
