    Secured the goods.

I came here to pick an item I purchased online. Parking was a breeze as I came in an off hour. I bought shoes and I tried them on before walking out of the store. I bought the Woody Flat Mules and they look so cute on my feet. I can't wait until the weather warms up to wear them. The associates who were there were friendly and very welcoming. I found it a little odd that this store has two separate stores that aren't adjacent to each other. One has shoes and accessories and the other has their leather goods.

from the website. this bag comes in at least four colors (this color, black, a rosy brown and an orangy beige)

Love. Chloe Love. It's their new perfume and I Love Love Love it! The boutique is clean and perfect...sort of what you'd imagine apple were to make a clothing store. White. Immaculate. Items arranged in an order that pulls you in. Their handbags are of the utmost quality (everyone knows the Paddington bag) but very high up in price. I did get a new model bag, the "Elsie" which is less than 3/4 the price of a paddington bag. Elsie opens with a "safe-like" mechanism (Chloe is famous for padlocks on their bags, this is the next step). I love the small version. I got it in a rosy dark pink color. The small bag is a great size and fits over your shoulder or can be held in your hand. The size is perfect to fit the necessities. Warning: the mobile clover-shaped part of the mechanism tends to scratch the stationary metal setting but you can only see this when the bag is open. The staff is very attentive. Whether you come in once a year or once a week, you are greeted with the same professionalism and courtesy. With summer almost behind us (fashion-wise) the new collection has a nice array of berry-colored, khakis and classic black, all with the elegant comfort of their flowy fabric. Their flats are also worth mentioning. Chloe flats are like slippers but they're cute! If you need a break from sky high heels but don't want to sacrifice in the style department, have a look!

Walked in looking for a Marcie bag in a certain color that I couldn't find for months at dept stores..my luck they had one in the same exact color but it didn't have the cross body strap that i preferred, so Terra the sales associate was nice enough to tell me she could call corporate the next day and see if they can ship one from Paris. She was so sweet and even held the one they had there for me for a few days until she heard back from corporate since I was willing to take what she had there if the other wasn't available. She went out of her way to try and get me my first choice instead of trying to make a quick sale and convincing me to take what she had in stock. 6 days later my bag comes in and it was exactly what I wanted. $1795 for a bag is not cheap but I love it! Will def go back once my credit card recovers.

Does Flirt Clothing live up to its name?…read more If you're expecting an inanimate building to ask your name and number, then no. And if you're expecting the employees to ask you "come here often?" before motioning the barkeep to bring you another of whatever you're having, then still, NO. Or maybe yes. Just not with me. Pffft. The clothes are definitely fun and flirty, though -- if you wear them. Flirt is the typical Melrose kitsch store -- one-offs and private labels abound. Not too many jean choices (mostly charcoal gray), and not that many T-shirts, but the ones they have will have you going gaga, lady. What's a boy like me doing reviewing an exclusively girl's store? Well, I have no intention of wearing that off-the-shoulder blouse or sundress (hmm... with the right belt and handbag, I -- nevermind), but the store is definitely a pleasant place, even if you're just waiting on girls to finish trying things on. You can stand there awkwardly listening to the early 1990s era boombox that's pumping out KISS FM all day (Lil Wayne seems determined to make me his fan), or check yourself out in the mirrors on the wall. "Oh you are quite the looker, aren't you..." Anyway, speaking of incredible, psychologically unhealthy narcissism (or not, whatever), the pink-curtained dressing rooms have matching pink folding chairs -- everything in the store has either touches or tons of pink, which sounds like a Hello Kitty nightmare but is actually kind of cute in a flamingo-pecked-my-eyes-out way. When you try things on, it's with a soft background of Pepto Bismo, but it does make that hotgasmic pair of koolats stand out in palatial, plaid glory. Sweet Heavens, but you're beautiful. Now close your curtain -- that weird tattoo guy with his tattooier girlfriend can see your thong. Hey, the stuff you're trying on is on sale, too! At least a fourth of the store is half off, so you'll have more money left over to blow on things like shoes, handbags, and rent. Service is fast, friendly, and helpful -- they'll make useful suggestions that aren't lame attempts at plus-selling. Flirt Clothing does lose one star because they forgot to remove a security tag on a $240 hobo bag. Now I'm going to have to come back tomorrow -- with receipt -- to have them remove it because SOMEBODY'S too busy (*cough* gainfully employed) to do so herself. I'm going to play like it's mine. It looks cuter on me anyway :-)

This is a nice store that carries clothing and accessories that you probably won't find at most…read moreother clothing shops on Melrose Ave. Most of the stores on this street tend to carry the same type of clothing. I bought a beautiful purple scarf with brown leopard spots on it the other day. The material was like that of a soft sweater. It was only $19.00. I could've gotten a better deal on it if I bargained with the lady there, but I didn't since the price was already low. Also, she was nice and showed me how to tie it since I wasn't sure how to wear it. I always leave scarves untied up until now. She showed me and it was easier than it I thought it would be. I really appreciated that. Also, it was great that she could actually break a $100.00 bill. Some places can't. If you're not familair with the area, you might not know that due to lots of competition, sometimes the shop owner or manager will give you a discount on clothes and other items if you ask them for one. Sometimes they are so eager to sell, they just offer you a good deal. I didn't want to appear cheap though, so I didn't bother asking. It was also nice that she didn't bug me or follow me around like a lot of the shop employees tend to do sometimes. This is a great place and I'll come back here next time I'm in LA.

Sometimes we forget just how good we have it in LA with the plethora of neighborhood boutique shops…read moreright under our noses. Seaver - which is right in the middle of the West Third shopping stretch, just a couple of doors down from Joan's - is a great reminder of that fact. It's one of those quaint shops which makes you sigh a breath of relief knowing options still exist to spy a gift or great find, without making another trip to a cookie cutter mall with the rest of the sheep. Specializing in clothing (designed by the owner, Nathalie), gifts and little treasures, there's something here for just about everyone. We stumbled in after brunch and were amazed by the variety of unique offerings the shop is nearly overflowing with - designer rubber duckies (we left with "decorator duck"), vintage stripper cuff links, stenciled leatherette checkbook and ipod covers in yummy pastel colors for spring, magnets, soaps, custom aprons (that give Anthropologie a run for their money), some beautiful things for baby, and of course, clothes and accessories. Not all of Seaver's clothes fit my taste, but aside from the super fab aprons that actually make you want to cook, her brocade jackets are beautifully sewn and well worth the price of admission. If you're trying to find a special gift for someone hard to buy for, this boutique is not to be missed - not that you could miss the beautifully painted black and white floral exterior. Nathalie is a super helpful sweetheart, there's something for just about every budget, and she'll even gift wrap it for you before you go. LA doesn't get much better than that.

So nice. Helped me with everything I needed! One stop shop for any gifts you might need.read more
