I've been here for breakfast but never tried their lunch until today. I ordered the Grilled Vegetable Sandwich. It was a mix of grilled vegetables served on a baguette with pesto and mozzarella. It was served with pickles and a macaroni salad. The Sandwich was delicious! The macaroni salad was light but tasty. I left feeling very full! The staff is friendly. The service was fast. I had my Sandwich within 5 minutes of ordering. If you are planning a trip to Peddler's Village, do yourself a favor a stop in for breakfast or lunch. You will be happy you did. read more

Lahaska, Pa has a reputation for being overly touristy, especially in warmer weather. The label is earned by gitchy shops and bad traffic. Yet, if you are able to rise early and cruise the rolling hills and farmers' fields of Bucks County and reach Chive Cafe before 9, there is a good chance of finding a table, or even an empty sun drenched front porch, and settle in for a excellent country breakfast. Such was our good fortune on this picture perfect Saturday morning. Blue skies. White clouds. 75 degrees. Windows down. Windblown hair. Bob Seger tunes. We parked in back and walked in through the kitchen door, found our way to the front porch facing Rt. 202, and chose a deuce against the inner wall. La Colombe joe arrived in large colorful mugs. The small breakfast menu led us directly to their sandwiches. One based in lamb sausage for me, and in grilled ham for my beautiful companion. Fried egg. Melted cheese. Cut fruit and home fries (extra) completed the plates. The "#3" sandwich stuffed into a toasted & buttered brioche-style roll; Lamb Sausage, Feta Cheese, Roasted Tomato, Grilled Onion and Fried Egg. The meat appeared to be thinly sliced to provide more savory flavor. All the parts played well together, but the Feta and Lamb were major elements, while the Egg, Onion and Tomato were minor scale. Very tasty, especially when "animalizing" it by throwing the Home Fries into the fray and pressing down. "#2" exchanged Country Ham, American Cheese and Herb Mayo for the strong parts of the above, and put them into a traditional Kaiser Roll. Its statement was more reserved, but a solid chew and swallow. The taters added some greasy zest. There is more to the offerings at lunch and dinner. Local sourcing is a priority. The La Colombe coffee was strong and flowing freely. If country atmosphere is part of your delight, Chive Café provides it is copious quantities. Definitely worth another look later in the day. read more

I've been going to this local restaurant for years and it is fantastic. This restaurant is perfect example of simple food done fresh and right. Now I just avoid wknds because word is out and full. Burgers are great, 3 side salad is great and kids chick fingers are fantastic. Can't go wrong. 5 stars are not given often but this place is solid. read more

I was at Peddler's Village for the Peach Festival. Everything seemed so packed that I was just about to walk to my car to leave to find somewhere else to go for lunch. This place is tucked away from the main area, so I stumbled upon it. I was so happy I did! It's a small place with indoor and outdoor seating. I chose to sit outside, being it was so nice outside. The menu isn't huge, but it packs a bang. I noticed they serve breakfast all day, but I went for a black bean burger. It was huge and delicious. It came with a side of quinoa salad that I fell in love with. It reminded me of the seaweed salad I get when I go out for sushi, so it was a win for me. The person I was with ordered the "Chive Burger," which was a cheeseburger with bacon essentially, but that was also equally amazing. His came with a side of handcut fries....also very very good. You can definitely tell that the food here is cared about and made with love. I will be back. For sure. read more

Cute little restaurant in Peddler's Village. Stopped in for breakfast and everyone left happy and stuffed. Breakfast sandwich with eggs, smoked bacon, avocado, and cheese on a brioche bun was great, the fried chicken special sandwich was awesome (although the piece of chicken was a little too big), the breakfast burrito was simple but good and we also had the dollar pancakes and they were also tasty! It's a little country style restaurant in one room and the other side of the restaurant you can order food at the counter. The service was also very nice, attentive and friendly. Superb choice for lunch if you're spending time in the Peddler's Village. The Chive Cafe has a concise lunch menu featuring soups, salads and sandwiches, perhaps 20 options total. While it's not the most diverse/extensive menu out there, it's a solid option for the area and the food quality was reasonably good. Service was excellent. Our table got a Cobb salad, roasted turkey sandwich with avocado and bacon, a BLT, fries, and a chicken, spinach and egg soup. I tasted a bit of everything and can say that each dish was well above average. The sandwiches were good (I believe the turkey is roasted in house), fries were fresh and awesome, the salad was well made. Oh, that reminds me; my favorite part of the meal was the panko crusted, deep fried artichoke hearts that came with the salad. I could have easily eaten 50 of those. Absolutely delicious. One minor downside was the chicken in the soup. While the flavor was good, I could have sworn the meat was from a can. To be fair, perhaps they just overcooked it somewhat. Who knows. Just a minor gripe, anyway and it certainly didn't detract from an overall great lunch. Total with tip and drinks for 4 people was $45. Not too shabby. Would definitely stop by again. read more

We came from out of town and this looked like a nice spot. There was an error in the order, the chorizo was given instead of lamb egg sandwich they would not refund and stated it must be charged again. On top of that they did not have the home fries ready with the order. Yet, other customers who came after us received there complete order. The server also ignored our table when it came to checking on our water. We brought this to the managers attention who didn't want to hear the criticism and said it's his second day. That's no excuse for choosing to ignore when you walk by there table but ask the tables beside us. If a customer makes a mistake it's one thing, yet there was no sense of customer service when we compromised on 1 dish, they showed no sense of customer awareness when it came to having everything ready on time. Food was good however the establishment seems entitled to themselves, not the customer. read more

My parents went here a few weeks back during the peach festival and wanted to take me. As a vegetarian, I am always on the lookout for great local places with vegetarian food. This place is tiny but it's very cute. I had the veggie burger and enjoyed picking out my own salad as a side. I had the quinoa. There were a ton of side salads to choose from. My mom order the veggie sandwich which had fried artichokes and hummus. I had half of it and it was delicious! I liked it better then my burger. The burger was good but I have had better. It needed more flavor and fell apart when I tried to eat it. I like that you can help yourself to fresh ice tea or water. We had the carrot cake for dessert and that wasn't very good. I should have gotten the brownie. Overall, the food is fresh and the staff is very friendly. It's very affordable and great spot for lunch. read more

I think I'm done trying this place. You can't sit an hour before they close. Made my order incorrectly... twice. Food was burned and sloppy. Tasted recooked. Everything here is really dirty. The floors, countertops, tables, drink fridge, cases that held the food, the food, and the self serve coffee station literally had toilet paper on it. I'm a local and this was my go to place like 2-3 years ago and I keep revisiting hoping they've cleaned up, but it's just not good. I even tried their catering and that's slid over the last few years too... like they forgot to show up for their catering gigs. This review is really about how unpleasant our initial walking in experience was here . There is a sign that asks you to please wait to be seated .... We did for 5 mins and the cashier waited on take out customers not even acknowledging our presence . It wasn't until someone that came in after us was being helped that I spoke up and said "Excuse me, can we take a seat " 3 xs before the cashier ( and Apparently owner ) snarled back at us that she was helping someone else . I immediately said back to her that we've been waiting to be seated well before this customer was even in line . What a way to start this lunch huh ? This owner/cashier/hostess couldn't be any less hospitable and welcoming . We sat down , ordered . The burger was fine . The roast beef sandwich was fine . The French fries were either a bit undercooked or overcooked and looked like the bottom of the basket to be honest . Our waitress was lovely and accommodating and was tipped to reflect her good service . Do I suggest eating here ? Meh . Breakfast which I have had here before seems better than the lunch offering. Visited Rice's market and decided to stop somewhere close for lunch. Saw the reviews and decided to give this place a try. Really cute little place. Got indoor seating and a nice patio area as well. Nice stop for a delicious lunch on our way back to the city. It's set in beautiful Lahaska, PA in a quiet and peaceful setting. You can dine inside or choose one of their many tables outdoors. We had burgers, chicken and noodles, and a falafel sandwich. All well cooked and the portions were generous with a very reasonable price. Staff was exceptionally courteous and friendly. Small place I've seen for decades (literally) but never went-in; it's about 100 ft behind a parking lot at Peddler's Village, which was too far for my lazy butt to wander, until now. They were nice about my substitutions (they called me the sub-everything sandwich) Sandwiches have ingredients such as arugula, Boursin, horseradish mayonnaise... As a pancake snob, it means a lot to say that the folks over at Chive Cafe make the BEST pancakes ever!! The outer rim was toasty and sweet, overall they were fluffy and perfectly round, divinely yummy. I almost skipped out on the delicious maple syrup (the authentic stuff not that Aunt Jemima which is for those with an indiscriminate palate). The sausage links were scrumptious as well. I was surprised by this as I am usually a bacon type of gal. My companion had an omelette which was quite good. They have a nice outdoor seating and the staff is very pleasant and attentive, a perfect illustration of the general demeanor of the New Hope town's culture. Can't wait to visit again soon. We stopped in here at the recommendation of some friends, and wow!! This is clearly not your run-of-the-mill sandwich stop - it leans toward the gourmet eclectic. They have about a dozen sandwiches, about half as many salads and a few soups and appetizers. The ingredients were fresh and the bread apparently comes from a local baker - really, really good! Jon, the owner brought us a small sample of his wings and a few fried artichokes to start. The lamb sausage with Gorgonzola and 'Bubba's Brisket' with cheddar and roasted tomatoes were both great. I prefer a little meat in my sandwich, but the "Killer Veggie", with fried artichoke hearts, hummus and red peppers (on a big Pita) was good too. Next time, the Italian Hoagie - great looking meats sliced right there. They don't sell wine or beer, but we brought our own and sat on the sunny back patio. This is a great place for a relaxing leisurely lunch - though, I think they deliver locally around the Peddler's Village area and cater too! read more

Breakfast sandwiches are still really good but I'm happy to report their lunch sandwiches are also delicious. Amazing sammies and today was our first with the breakfast sammies! It was so delicious! My bf got smoked bacon, fried egg and cheddar cheese on a brioche bun and I got the house made lamb sausage and fried egg breakfast sammie with fire roasted tomatoes & grilled onions and feta. I loved the different flavors and the sausage is not gamey. We got a side of hashbrowns cause I'm such a sucker for all things potato and not only did we leave full, I got a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie to go.
