I had one of the best 3 egg omlette with fried onions, green peppers, spinch and celery with cheddar cheese with multi grain toast and awesome home fries made with red bliss potatoes with fried onions this morning that I ever had. I was just in the area today for my daughter's lacrosse game at the high school. I told the young waiter I will be back. I live about 15 miles but it was worth the trip and I will be back. We stopped in here for a quick early dinner. The place is very cute and quaint. The staff is excellent with suggestions and very nice to our children. I love their drink options. We had two soups: the chicken noodle and the short rib chili. Both left a bit of flavor to be desired. Next were the sandwiches. The pan fried chicken sandwich was moist but could use something extra in addition to the spinach. The much recommended leg of lamb and Brie sandwich was the HIGHLIGHT. Today's buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and curried chicken salad wrap were perfect. - wife and I went 50/50 on our sandwiches. Sweet potato fries were excellent as well... Nov 2012 -- Basically a solid "Gourmet Casual" place. Wife has been a few times but the two of us had lunch last week. Creative menu with upscale takes on standards - Short Rib Chili - rich but worth it, Sliced LAMB sandwich on crusty roll - yum... Great lunch spot! We enjoyed sandwiches out on the patio. I had the Roasted Turkey and added the Boursin spread. Sandwich was good--but bread didn't really stand up. This was a cute place to have breakfast/lunch within walking distance of the stores at peddler's village. We were able to sit outside, which it seemed was a popular choice on a not super hot July morning. There is seating inside as well, but it's tiny in there, so I'd imagine on a cold or rainy day this places gets pretty packed. However we were able to make a reservation for our group of 6 which was helpful as we were throwing a casual baby shower for a close friend who lives in NYC. This was kind of the perfect halfway point for the Philly and NYC people. I had a couple of cups of coffee which was good and ended up going with a sandwich after debating between breakfast or lunch. I chose the roast beef which was really delicious! It was thinly sliced topped with red onions and horseradish sauce on a seeded brioche roll and came with a side of red skinned potato salad and house made pickles! Very yummy! I ended up taking half home and P really enjoyed the other half too. They don't seem to sell alcohol so I would imagine you could BYOB and make some mimosas? The portions were large, the prices very reasonable (especially for being in Peddlers Village) and the lamb and brie sandwich was EXACTLY as excellent as it sounds! We love to shop at Peddlers Village but we have been getting tired of the usual restaurants. We saw this place on Yelp and decided to try it. What a find. Excellent food and nice atmosphere. I absolutely loved this place. Ive only eaten outside. They accommadate pets so I bring my maltese puppy Betsy and they give her fresh water. Its a great casual lunchtime spot when its nice out to get a fresh delicious sandwich or salad. The staff is extremely pleasant and accommadating. LVE Chive Cafe!!! My sister and stumbled upon this place after being disappointed with the other Peddlers Village restaurants. We now meet here weekly since it is the perfect in between from where we each live. We have never been disappointed. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. We stopped here before venturing to Peddler's Village right next door. It was a Sunday afternoon and the place was not busy at all. The menu is slightly limited, but the food was very well done. I had an omelet that was cooked to perfection with amazing cheddar cheese and my boyfriend had the roast beef sandwich which he very much enjoyed. The price was reasonable and they had a few tables outside to eat and relax at. The inside was cramped, but everything else was enjoyable and the dessert, a chocolate chip cookie was amazing! When it comes to sandwiches, this place is tops. You can't find a better sandwich for 50 miles... OK, OK, 50 miles is a bit of a stretch but this place is really good. I think it is better than Sandwich connection in Dtown, better than the Carversville General Store, and better than Lilly's (all of them). Those are probably the only real competitors. Stopped for lunch on a walk through Peddlers Village. Looked like a nice local cafe and just a bit less tacky than some of the other eating choices in the village. Wife and daughter each picked specialty sandwiches on baguettes. Leg of lamb on one and a prosciutto/mozzarella/pesto mix for the other. Generous size so a half of each headed home. I had the short rib chili. Very tasty. A rich tomato based chili with beans, cheese and sour cream. Pleasant service, reasonable prices and a nice location. Glad we found this place. read more

We were driving around Peddler's Village looking for a quick option while we waited for the Christmas lights to come on, and were lucky enough to find the Chive cafe! We got two roast turkey sandwiches and they were sized generously. Each came with a "chef's side", of which we chose a quinoa salad and a Brussels sprout salad (with dried cherries and a vinagerette). Both sides were amazing! Even the pickle chips served with the sandwiches were solid deli pickles. And the Unsweet tea was real fresh brewed tea. They also serve La Colombe coffee, hot and iced, which I know we'll grab next time. And there will definitely be a next time. We ate in the car because it was getting chilly out, but there's an adorable outside area with several picnic tables (aka dog-friendly), though there is no seating inside at all. The young lady at the counter was friendly, as was another employee who was in and out a few times taking deliveries to some of the other local businesses (always a good sign to me). read more

They sell La Colombe coffee...that is why this place is the best in the area. I haven't had a chance to eat their yet because I run in and just get coffee to go. But the food looks and smells amazing. And everyone is etremely nice even at 7:00am. I'm looking forward to eating there soon with my husband. read more

We hit up the Chive Café in Lahaska (Peddler's Village) today before a kids birthday party. We saw it had solid #Yelp reviews and it was a light looking menu so why not. We had 2 soups and 2 sandwiches. The top is the Roasted Leg of Lamb and Brie with tomatoes, grilled onions, and an herb mayo on a toasted baguette. The bottom was the pan fried chicken breast with sautéed spinach, sharp provolone, and a garlic aioli on a toasted baguette. Both were solid choices. The lamb better than the chicken but both very good. The Brie melted perfectly with the sweetness from the onions mixed with a soft and tender long cooked piece of sexy lamb leg. At $11, it's a filling sammich to keep you from eating again. We tried the chicken noodle soup which I thought was too salty and the Short Rib Chilli which probably wasn't salted enough and served warm instead of hot. I give it 4 Garys for its lamb leg sandwich alone but the soups could've been better and the side macaroni salad served with the sandwiches should've been left in the kitchen, or not made at all. I would definitely try another sandwich from Chive Café. read more
