Chisholm Trail has been our pediatrician office since my eldest was a baby (she is 7 now) and we love them. Specifically, we always see Miranda, who is a nurse practitioner and a complete joy. Talking with her is like catching up with a friend and she somehow seems to calm any anxiety I have without making me feel like a crazy person. Sandra, who is a front office staff member just spent 15 minutes on the phone with me, helping me to schedule multiple well checks as well as get immunization records for all three of my children. She made it so easy and was patient with all of my various requests. I'm not sure why there's negative reviews for limited appointment times. Each and every time I've called for a sick visit, I am nearly always gotten in that very day. Absolutely would recommend them. read more

Currently shopping for a pediatrician and found out my children are not welcomed because I'm choosing to have my next baby at home. I had a traumatic birth at a hospital...I've had cancer and had horrible treatment at a hospital. Hence I'm not comfortable to have my next baby at a hospital...unless medically necessary...they don't want to make exceptions...they just want things done their way and only their opinion matters. No consideration for my past that is pushing towards my choice to have a comfortable labor..my future baby is being rejected medical attention only because I fear another traumatic birth at a hospital read more

We've been seeing the good folks at Chisholm Trail pediatrics for the past four years. They've always seen us promptly, listened to my concerns as a first time mom, and always had our best interests in mind. They're also happy to make sure parents have the flu vaccine along with kiddos. read more

My first experience at Chisholm Trail was odd. The gal at the front desk was kind, but when we were called back there were floor fans everywhere, the building appeared to be in disrepair, and the patient rooms were unclean. The nurse practitioner was knowledgeable and super nice. I constantly heard yelling children and then at one point, I saw a random child running around the back office area. It actually crossed my mind that maybe there was a daycare connected to the practice. I also felt like I had to fend for myself, we were left alone for a while in the room and I wasn't sure if they knew we were there or they forgot about us. I don't think we'll be back unless absolutely necessary. read more

I moved here recently and was a little nervous when looking for a Pediatrician because I am super picky. I like it when doctors tell it to me straight and don't over or under worry. I can't say enough great things about this office! Each doctor, nurse, nurse practitioner has been so amazing. They are so great with my kids and take the time to reassure them. I have felt rushed at other places or like the doctor didn't care to explore all the options. Not so here, I felt like I was heard and they spent time with me to make sure I felt comfortable. Their supposed mission is to provide care to your newborn in a loving and caring environment.. (says this directly on their website) yet, if you're having a home birth, your baby will not allowed to be seen by them. They will not accept babies that were born at home. They threaten others into having a hospital birth. There are plenty of babies that are born in a hospital that do poorly, but will still receive their care.. shame on you!! read more

I'll start by saying I really liked our pediatrician Dr. Wilson. She was very respectful for parental decisions and very sweet. Unfortunately the practice as a whole is not respectful of parental choice which has become abundantly clear in the last couple of years. Most recently, they put on email that they will not accept babies that were born at home, even with a license and reputable midwife (with extensive schooling and experience). I'm sure there are rare and isolated emergencies from time to time that require a hospital transfer, but studies show homebirths are SAFER for moms and babies if the pregnancy is low risk. I had a homebirth after cesarean because I trusted my body the second time around and dug into real research. There are significant risks with unnecessary hospital interventions that increase risk of serious complications in mom and baby to include death. The US has the highest infant and maternal death rate of ALL developed countries and we should be demanding better care vs treating birth as a business. Shame on you CTP! Chisholm Trail Pediatric is amazing. It's been hard to find a pediatrician my daughter is comfortable with. Dr. Estrada is so wonderful with her. She is calm, patient, and understanding. She allowed my teen daughter to discuss a best plan for her. She made her apart of the treatment plan instead of talking around her. For my daughter this was HUGE. She finally felt heard and has followed her asthma plan as discussed with issues. Normally this is not the case as most the meds made hee feel "off". Dr. Estrada changed everything by just listening. read more

Their discriminatory policy of not seeing patients born at home is beyond disgusting and the furthest from "First do no harm" that a doctor can get. There is a zero percent chance they will ever get my business with policies such as their new "no home birth newborns allowed." Homebirth is actually SAFER than a hospital birth for low-risk pregnancies and healthy mamas and babies and given Texas has one of the highest infant and maternal death rate in the country, you would think they would acknowledge the statistics that prove this and ENCOURAGE Homebirth for those who are truly eligible. When my son is sick I can call that morning and get an appointment for the same day and 99% of the time with the provider of my choice! 2. When I cal the nurses after hours line I am not charged a penny! There is such a piece of mind being able to call and ask a medical question and not have to worry about what it will cost me. Absolutely love Dr. Duble. I've never had a more caring and dedicated doctor. Being my first child, I have tons of questions and can be overbearing and extra cautious, but Dr. Duble understands and answers everything. When my 1 yr old broke his leg, she called me several times to check on my son and me, as a parent. When I had a question about medication and would leave a message for her, she called by that same day. The staff in general is amazing, but I hands-down love Dr. Duble! read more

Seven years later, we are still patients of CTP, and refer them to everyone who asks... even those who don't. :) The attention and care that is received here consistently from every provider is none like I have seen in any business. Long wait times, tough to get appointments within a reasonable date and it seems that we never saw the same provider consistently. We had a terrible experience with inconsistent health screenings and misplaced records which caused our family quite the unnecessary scare. We were shocked and appalled with how management handled it. Dishonest and unprofessional. Full of excuses. It's unfortunate as a couple of the providers we saw seemed quite knowledgeable and kind but we will never step foot in this place again. read more

We've been going to Chisholm Trail Pediatrics for the last 8 years. They have helped us with all of our medical needs for all 4 of our children. The doctors and nurse practitioners are warm, patient, and truly care. I always recommend this group any time a friend asks for a good doctor for their child. When I first moved to a Georgetown, I took my 3 children to a different pediatrics office in town, only based on a search of my insurance website. Every visit to that place over the course of 6 months was an awful experience. So I was absolutely THRILLED when I found Chisholm Trail Pediatrics! Every staff member is professional and kind, and the atmosphere is very warm. They are run very efficiently. I have been especially pleased with how they've been able to quickly see us for last-minute illnesses. I've been comfortable with every doctor and physicians assistant who has evaluated and treated my kids. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone with children. read more

We live in Georgetown and wanted to switch to a place closer. First time we went it was last minute granted, but Maureen Havrilla is the person that we saw. My daughter (2 year old) was feeling under the weather and we wanted to make sure that she didn't have a cold etc. Anyways the service pretty much felt like going into a Classic Cuts (no offense if this is your place), but we kind of were in and out without the doctor really doing anything besides using her stethoscope and giving us some free samples of Zarbee's. The problem with this is that we have a deductible so it cost us quite a bit every time we go in and see the doctor. Fast forward to this flu season. My daughter gets real sick and several of the kids from her school have gotten sick with (croup, flu, strep, you name it) all in one week. We decide to take her into a different doctor at the Chisholm because she had a fever and her ear was aching. The doctor checked for some of the things that were going around, which is good, but didn't check for strep or an ear infection although they did say she had drainage. Another payment towards are deductible, but not help and they said to come back if her symptoms get worse. Well they did, we will not be going back because obviously preventative care doesn't exist until you get 2 or 3 more visits to get some extra money or whatever they're agenda may be. It is unacceptable. I will say that I phoned in and the lady that I spoke to with really understood what I was saying and that I didn't find it logical or ethical to use this method. We decided to go to Dr. Candida Suffridge over at Scott & White in Georgetown. I personally have seen her as my primary and she is fantastic. Also Brady Luttrell at Scott & White. read more

I had been looking for a new pediatric office for my children. I saw the reviews and a couple of people mentioned Chisholm Trail to me, so I decided to book an appointment. The clinic is nice and we had no issues with front office but we were seen by their newest nurse practitioner, Mia Martin. She was not at all friendly from the beginning. She looked annoyed while she was doing the assessment. My son had a lot of pain but she demonstrated very little concern. I tried to remain positive with the first impression, but when she stepped out of the office my son expressed he did not feel she was friendly at all. He did not enjoy his visit with her and said he did not want to go back there again. I would have wished for our experience to have been a better one. read more

We have two boys that have a number of allergies and asthma too. The level of care by every staff member has been above and beyond. You can tell their staff really do care for the whole family. I've also called far too many times with urgent and specific appointment requests and the front office staff always goes above and beyond to accommodate our busy schedules. Big fan of CTP! read more

I would never bring my child back to this place. We brought our daughter to Chisholm Trail for her very first doctor appointment when she was born and we didn't even get to see an actual doctor. Instead we saw a nurse practitioner who, when my daughter's scratch mitten fell off, used the bottom of her shoe to pull it toward herself and pick it up, then hand it back to my 5 day old baby. Maybe I'm a germaphobe, but my idea of cleanliness for my brand new baby is not having someone's dirty sole of their shoe on anything that could go into my daughter's mouth. Additionally, the office REEKS of cigarette smoke...almost as if someone is smoking inside. When we left after being there for about 30 minutes, our clothes smelled like cigarettes. I know a lot of people who go here, but our experience was unpleasant and we will never go back. read more

I made the following comment on Foursquare: "The old doctor smokes inside the building. If you or your kids suffer from asthma, find a different pediatrician's office." This was placed there after attempting to resolve the fact that Dr. Ramsey smokes inside the practice. It was so bad that I broke into coughing fits and nearly threw up a couple of times. I had spoken with the office manager on more than one occasion about the problem, who suggested that they'd get air purifiers, ask the cleaning staff to do more, etc. I don't think he truly understood the problem. Today, I received a letter in the mail, not apologizing for how I felt about the practice or the issue at hand, but quoted from the Bible stating, "He who is without sin cast the first stone" and going on to also state "I feel confident that you have made the right choice not to be a part of the Chisholm Trail Pediatrics family!" As my previous comment indicated, the issue at hand is that Dr. Ramsey, a pediatrician, smokes inside his practice. So, as he stated in the letter to me, I have decided to "make some child or parent feel better about themselves." Because "How long has it been since you [I] had that mission?" Well, clearly I haven't been doing enough to protect children and parents with breathing issues. read more

We have been with Chisholm Trail Pediatrics for about 4 years now. We love them. They are no where near convenient for me location wise, but I make the drive because they are worth it. I started taking my daughter there when she was a newborn in 2011, and my son when he was born in 2018. The practice has changed a lot in those years, and not for the better in my opinion. They had a revolving door of providers, and each time I found a good one I trusted, they left. I only saw one consistently that I loved, and that was Rachel. Once she left, I gave the practice one more try and saw Dr. Cavanagh for my son's 1 year check up. I had concerns about his development being delayed. My daughter has a rare genetic disorder and, and I simply asked Dr. Cavanagh for a referral to genetics to rule this out for my son. His response was to totally brush off my concerns and tell me I didn't need to get him tested, the chances were too low. I quickly asked for our records (which took weeks for them to provide), followed Rachel to her new place of practice and got our referral. Fast forward to now, and guess what. My son has the same disorder as my daughter. His refusal to listen to my concerns caused us a delay in diagnosis and beginning of treatment. read more

Things started out pretty good at Chisholm trail during the first couple years of my little ones life then it started going a bit downhill. I have no complaints about the office staff or the doctors, they are really friendly. I did feel a bit rushed with one of the Doctors more than once and I don't think my child was diagnosed with anything ever other than "it's viral". She got a case of Roseola at a year old and when I took her in the Doc said she was pretty sure it's was not Roseola. Mistakes happen it just would have been nice to know as I could have maybe avoided a trip to the ER or gotten more info on how to deal with her high fevers at home? The final straw is the billing. They will charge a $25 no show fee....which is fine lots of places do. But most of these places will provide SOME sort of reminder system, a phone call, email, text ANYTHING. And if you do miss your appointment you will not find out until you get a bill in the mail. Then when you do miss an appointment do not expected to get rescheduled within a few weeks. I'm one of those people that really needs help remembering appointments sometimes so I've found another place that suits me a bit better. read more

My son has been going to Chisholm Trail since he was 3 days old, he is now 10. I have never have problems with the office until recently. We went to the office in August then went back 4 months later the staff and doctors had completely changed which I find extremely odd. My bigger issue is when We went in, in December for a med check, after the visit, I took the prescription to the pharmacy (which we all know that looks like Chicken scratch) so I could only assume it was what we discussed in the office which was adding 5 mg in the afternoon when he was currently not taking anything , changing nothing in the morning which was currently 18 mg. His father and step mom were going to try the medicine over the weekend before sending him to school on this medicine, (he did have to get a new refill on his morning medicine as well at this time) the trail day his step mom call me and said he was acting extremely weird, crying saying he didn't feel normal, his head was pounding and they said he looked like a zombie. We had to call the pharmacy to find out the doctor had actually written the wrong prescription making the morning dose 27mg the and afternoon 5mg this is doubling what he is use to taking. I called the on call doctor, she suggested me taking him to the minor emergency and she would call and check on him later that afternoon, I never received a call, I called the office 3 times on Monday to talk to the doctor about his mess up, never got a returned call, I called Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and still have yet to get a return call from the doctor the reception just keeps letting me know the chart on on his desk and that's all she can do. If this is the kind of patient care you think is accept then this is your place but this is completely unacceptable health care. I managed a pediatric dental Office for 5 years and the doctors I worked for would NEVER leave the office for the day without returning parents calls, especially something to this extremely. My child has been without his medicine now for a week because the dose makes him extremely sick and there is nothing that can be done because the doctor refuses to call me back. I finally today ask for my records and they want to charge me $25 for their mistake. Absolutely insane. read more

So happy we chose to switch from a large practice to Chisholm Trail. They actually answer the phone and don't put you on hold for 20 minutes! We tried out a couple of different Dr's and chose Rachel (nurse practitioner) to consistently care for our son. She has been amazing and always sweet with my son. Usually we have been able to get in pretty quickly but there have been a couple of times I have had to wait for over 30 minutes and with a baby crying in the waiting room it was a little stressful. I like that they schedule the well-checks in the morning and don't bring the sick babes until later in the day. read more

I have been taking my 5 children (progressively as they've been born) to CTP for the past 8 years. We have absolutely LOVED seeing NP Rachel. She knows and remembers every one of my kids and takes care of each of them as if they were her own. I feel our care at CTP has been top notch. I can always get an appointment right away for a sick child, and feel very well accommodated for our well-child visits as well. 5 stars for the staff, 4 stars for the building itself.
