The food and service was amazing, especially the fillet! The ambiance is very relaxed and cozy.

A few friends recommended this place to eat at! We were looking for a place to host our annual Christmas work party. We drove over an hour and that steak was . We walked in and ordered two steak dinners along with one bucket of beer. 95$, we obviously knew it was going to be pricey.. We gave the sweet lady with a short hair a hundred dollar bill.. we did not receive any change back. We stood there waiting and she told us to go ahead and have a seat anywhere. We sat at an empty table and got our salads. From our observation while waiting the blonde lady seemed to be the owner. We watched her for a while, talking and hitting a THC cart in front of the customers and blowing it with no regard to customers. A family of 7 was seated next to us about 20 mins later. They weren't even seated for 10 minutes and were brought out crab legs, steak, and a few other dinners. We realize this was the owners family or friend. We got our steak about 10 minutes later and it was absolutely delicious. About five people from the family left and there was only two, the owner proceeded to come over and talk crap for over 30 minutes. We had finished our bucket so we started buying just single beers. A lady charged us 5$ per beer. When we went to get two more, the young man only charged 4$ per beer. Odd. We decided to have one more before we left. We were then charged 5$ per beer. Gave the owner a $20 and she gave us our two beers and proceeded to walk away. No intention of giving us back our change. When it came to leave my boyfriend decided to talk to the owner about the dishonesty and theft of 20+ dollars. He let her know if you really need my money that bad then I understand, but it is still very dishonest. She proceeded to curse him out and use vulgar profanity. Mind you I am 25 and I do look a bit younger than that, my bf is 29. She proceeded to tell him to get the f*** out and she said she had been watching us all night. She then told him that he was an absolute creep amongst other disgusting words. She proceeded to tell him to leave or she would have two of her regulars get him out if not. I am absolutely shocked at the lack of customer service this woman had. This is a grown woman that is definitely over the age of 60 and lacks just simple etiquette and kindness. She was completely OK with stealing and admitted it as well. In the beginning, she said we can make it right but then in instant became hostile. Let's just get the best thing out there first. The ribeye steak was delicious (even though it was overcooked). Flavor was excellent. That was the highlight of the evening. Of the three steaks our party ordered (at medium rare, medium and medium well), every one of them were cooked to well done. WELL DONE!! . No pink whatsoever in any of them, not even the one ordered medium RARE. For a place that "specializes" in steaks, you would expect them to know how to properly prepare a steak to order. Per another comment, apparently one of the cooks said (when someone complained about their steaks being overcooked), said "that's just the way they cook them, medium well is no pink." Huh???? Moving on ... The "salad bar" was a bowl of lettuce, some cherry tomatoes, chunks of cucumber, shredded cheese, dehydrated bacon bits, croutons and your choice of two dressings (ranch and thousand island). The most basic of salad items, pretty bare bones. If you don't like either of those two dressings - too bad. If they (the dressings) had been homemade and delicious, it would've really helped, but they definitely were not. Oh, and your salad bowl is a small styrofoam bowl. Salad "bar" was lackluster. Rolls were Kings Hawaiian rolls (or a generic version of those). They're okay. Homemade yeast rolls would've been more appropriate, at this price point. Baked potato was a good size and cooked thoroughly. Sour cream available in a little package on salad bar. Butter? No butter. Liquid Parkay was on the table. . Liquid vegetable oil!!! . At these prices, real butter should definitely have been available. A bit pricey, considering you're not served on "real" dishes and you get store bought bread and 2 salad dressings. About the ambiance ... well, if you like "super overcrowded, jam packed together like sardines, sitting at a long school cafeteria type table with other people" type dining, you'll love it. If loud and chaotic is your thing, you'll enjoy it. If you don't mind being jostled and bumped by people trying to get past (because of the aforementioned overcrowding), you'll be fine. Apparently, this loud, chaotic scene is considered (by the owners and obviously by some regulars) to be "part of the charm" of the place. Just not our thing. While we enjoyed our food (pretty much), all we could think of was "let's hurry and finish and get out of this madhouse!" But apparently, lots of people don't mind all that, because they were extremely busy and are obviously this busy pretty much every weekend. Doing such a brisk business, you'd think they would consider adding on to the small space. It really would help the customer experience. They're only open two days a week (Friday and Saturday evenings), so there's no option of going during a "less busy time." All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. That was nice. We may go back someday, for the steak, but would try to get there a little earlier or later than we did today, and hope it would not be so jam packed. P.S. one more thing - you walk in the door and are automatically in line to go to the counter and order there, then go try to find somewhere to sit (a real trick, when there are people standing everywhere and ALL of the empty tables have "Reserved" signs on them). They should absolutely not take reservations when they've got people standing all around looking for a place to sit down. Should be first come, first serve. Quirky joint with a limited menu, but if you leave hungry that's your fault. Ordered the steak, baked potato and had the salad bar. Everything was delicious! A little pricy for a folding table and Dixie plate dinner, but they make it worthwhile with excellent service and quality food. I read a ton of reviews and tried it out. You will not wonder up on this place. You have to be looking for it. Our food was great. All 4 steaks were cooked to order with a great flavor. The shrimp were also good. The salad bar was ok but nothing to all about. Talked to the owners for a bit. Beth seems super cool. If you are looking for a fancy place, this ain't it. It is extremely rustic with an everybody knows your name style. Great place to not be in a hurry, have a beer and hang out and meet new people. Not rushing but will be back. read more

We-elll... It's a unique place, for sure, and there aren't really a lot of options in this town. I was excited to try it, based on the other reviews. Pros: Friendly service. Interesting atmosphere. Cons: Covid? What Covid? They had the salad bar open. People were jam packed in, seated at long, school cafeteria style tables. We picked a table as far away as possible from the crowd and tried to eat as quickly as possible. I don't eat steak, so can't comment on it. People seemed to be enjoying it. They have a very limited menu. I intended to get the crab legs, but $45? Are you kidding me? So, I got the chicken fingers, which tasted frozen. Bottom line-- Given that the local selection is so lacking, it might be worthwhile if you want a steak. Make sure you're vaccinated because there are zero precautions in place. But if you're expecting something great (based on other reviews), you'll probably be disappointed. read more

I had the ribeye steak and it was delicious!! A little pricey at $30 a steak but it was good. Located at the end of a long curvy road!!

1st off I'll start with the items no deserving a 5 star rating. Rolls, come on, replace these with better rolls please. Salad bar, OK, would be nice to have more than 2 dressing choices. That being said, let's go to the start of the show, the steak. Absolutely fantastic. Could not have tasted better, could not have been better. $25 & well worth it. About a 1 hour drive from our home, would do it every weekend if I could. And, the crab legs, cooked perfect. Love the atmosphere, super nice folks here. You feel at home. Took my folks the last time & like Ms. Patsy said - you can't tell the guests from the workers. Everybody's family. Can't wait to go back. An out-of-the-way dining experience. After taking the Halls exit, you drive for another 15 minutes in the middle of nowhere until you come to a restaurant on stilts. The menu consists of steak, crab legs and chicken tenders. You also get baked potatoes/fries and salad. It's a tad pricy...but I've never left hungry. It's definitely not fancy...just a tucked away spot near the lake. Call ahead to make sure they're open...if there is high water...it could flooded...hence the stilts. read more

This little place is one of my favorite weekend spots to eat steak and crab legs. You truly feel like you have made a wrong turn on your drive to this little hole in the wall. Be brave, keep driving, it is worth it. You order at the door and then sit down. They have a simple but good salad bar. It is only opened when the river is down and on the weekends so it is packed, but seriously squeeze on in there, you won't regret it!!! read more

This place will surprise you! Out in the middle of nowhere, sitting next to Chisholm Lake, up on stilts, where your phone surely won't have service, you will find the best cooked ribeye you've ever had in your life and at a bargain price. $25 for a huge steak, baked potato, rolls, and salad is what I call a deal. If you're not in the mood for all of that steak, they also have very, very good crab legs, shrimp that are boiled in the crab water and then thrown on the grill, and a grilled chicken dish that is topped with sautéed mushrooms and cheese.
