Hello Mr Chiroys. i won't be going back anymore , i'm not satisfied with service anymore. i feel like ever since that young lady stopped coming in on tuesdays and then all of a sudden on the weekends too service is horrible there. very beautiful restaurant but your customer service doesn't make up for it these new people don't have manners or morals. i love your food but it's no longer the same. service for me is everything. your food could be great but customer service needs to match it. good while it lasted read more

Country Fried steak and eggs with biscuits and sausage gravy. Was not on the menu. I asked if they could make it. Yes, they can. They have a build your own breakfast on the menu. The Country Fried steak came crisp and cruntchy with gravy on top the way it should be. They have a great cook and everything tasted as it should. As soon as Chiroy's Cafe opened, I went there. It's in the spot vacated by Rana's, and it provides Casa de Oro with an excellent breakfast option. They offer traditional Mexican dishes, as well as some from Guatamala. My daughter and I often go there, and we have never had a bad experience. She says the chorizo is the best in San Diego, and I usually have Huevos Ranchero, or something that I haven't tried. The staff take great care of us. The place is clean and welcoming. The food is always delicious, and the owner always stops by to say Hello. I highly recommend Chiroy's Cafe to anyone who wants a yummy mexican style meal at a reasonable price. Also, for someone who doesn't like black beans, I can tell you that their black beans made me a black bean lover! Really!! Try the Guatemalan menu. What a find in Spring Valley, on Campo next to CVS. American specialties like fluffy pancakes and a range of omelettes. Mexican specialties including chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. But the star is their Guatemalan specialties like Huevos Divorciados. Fabulous! We stopped there 2 weeks ago, and had to go again today for brunch. We came he for Sunday brunch. We each had something different. One had traditional American breakfast eggs bacon potatoes pancakes. One had huevos rancheros and last we had the Guatemalan combination of churrasco steak, chorizo and longaniza sausage with eggs black beans and plantains. This is one review I didn't want to write. But only because I'm a selfish SOB and I've enjoyed rolling in at 9:00am on a saturday and being seated right away. No 30 min wait list here. Yet. I've had 5 or 6 dishes here and they are all very, very good. Chorizo & Eggs, Machaca, huevos ranchers are all very good. The Huevos a la Mexicana are excellent. My wifes favorite is the mixed omelet. The menudo was just average. I've tried it twice now and it's just not like home. Definitely try the Cafe de olla, if mexican coffee with cinnamon sounds good. Also the breakfast potatoes are perfect with just the right amount of crispy! We love this place and the staff is very friendly. read more

Such a great breakfast spot in CDO! Super nice staff and great service, food was excellent. Got my hash browns crispy and they were perfect, and the French toast was really good. My only regret was wishing I had ordered a Mexican or Guatemalan dish because they had this avocado salsa that was AMAZING and I wanted to drink it, but it didn't exactly go with the French toast. Our second visit to this new cafe on a Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock and we were the only patrons in the place. We ordered Ham Steak plate and French Toast plate, Orange juice and Hot Tea. The food was pretty good my scrambled eggs were over cooked but everything else was really good. The major problem came about with the bill. Two relatively common breakfast orders, nothing special and the total came to $55. That is outrageous and I can understand why the place was empty even on a weekday. We will not be returning as the pricing is out of touch with reality! If you plan to try this place bring your banker with you! read more

This Casa de Oro location is where Ranas used to be. It has an eclectic menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had the huevos rancheros and it was excellent. I also ordered the Cafe' de la Olla, and it was delicious. Service is good. Servers are polite and efficient. I'll be back. read more

We are very excited to have a friendly and delicious place to eat close to home. We have tried breakfast here, Mexican coffee they bring you a pitcher of coffee so no waiting for refills, the veggie omelette was just the right size, veggies were fresh, fruit also seemed fresh not frozen and sourdough toast; the Guatemalan breakfast Chiroys Combination which had 3 types of meat, chorizo, carne, longiniza sausage, beans and homemade flour tortillas served hot with red & green sauce. The staff is friendly and attentive. Please go try it out we are hoping this restaurant has great success. They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner a lot of great options. read more

We tried this place in mid- January which is at the site of the former RANAS Mexican Restaurant. CHIROY'S was surprisingly quiet for a noontime breakfast on a Sunday, but that was good timing on our part as the food and service were no reflection on that. Prices are about as expected given inflation and minimum wage standards in California, but the quantity and quality of the food on our plates was quite satisfactory! We were so full that it served as our final meal for the day. I had a breakfast scramble and loved my pancakes & hash browns while my wife had the diced potatoes and an omelet. The server came back about three minutes after we were served to check on us (very nice and reasonable). She even made sure to keep our water glasses full. The place began to fill up as we were leaving, so the good word on this restaurant must be spreading quickly. They hope to stay open into evening hours if all goes well, according to one of the managers. Casa de Oro needs a quality restaurant to stand out among the heavy competition. I think we have a winner, and we will be back to this quiet, warm atmosphere where everyone is welcome! FIVE STARS read more
