Fish and Chips (what, is that Mexican? or Texan? nope just generic) - tick. It's a massive space as well, and when we were there, there were only 4 other tables. Which made it feel like one of those towns on the Mexican border, where tumbleweeds are blowing and the townsfolk are hiding behind swinging doors. Them ones. Yup, just really average, and really boring. Didn't like this brand of tequila 'n' Tex 'n' Mex very much.

I fully intended to come back for dinner, but everything on the menu sounded good and I had skipped lunch. I opted for a burrito to take back to the hotel with me. When I got back to my room and opened up the bag, I couldn't believe how big the burrito was! Wow. As for the flavor? It wasn't bad, but it wasn't quite Mexican food. It's kind of a fusion .. of what, I'm not sure. Regardless, it was a good burrito, the salsa was okay - not great. Chips were disappointing (store bought). I know I'm spoiled being from Southern California, I'm used to getting freshly made chips at most restaurants. I'd definitely eat here again. Expectations have been appropriately managed.

Tequila Tex-Mex - Very tasty. This restaurant is dialed into the flavored and textures of Telmex. Reasonable prices too. Check it out.

This is a great little Mexican restaurant where the food bursts with flavour and quality. With so…read moremany good deals, it would simply be a joke to pass up the chance to sample Los Amigos' colourful menu in favour of another Mexican joint. I'd wager it's the best in town. You must book on weekends as it gets quite busy but don't let this put you off as, in true Mexican style, the more people that arrive the better the atmosphere gets. If you like fajitas pop down Mon or Wed as they offer large chicken or vegetarian fajitas for £15 and these will easily fill two hungry tummies. Other deals include Tapas for two for £15 on Tuesdays and a two-course special menu available Sun-Thurs for £8.95. This place is great for special occasions as the sangria flows freely (£10 per jug) and the staff are more than accommodating. If you fancy some authentic Mexican food in a fun but not unoriginal environment, then look no further.

The staff member approached me and directed me to a table right next to a busy table full of rather load people, as it was the only table with people on it I thought I could sit somewhere a little away from the noise, (my mistake) so I kindly asked if I could sit up the back of the restaurant, she pointed me in the direction and left me too it. From the service to the food, well what can I say overpriced and as far from Mexican food I have had, very tasteless, just nothing to it what so ever, no chicken in the chicken chimichanga but plenty of refried beans but again over cooked, just not very good at all. All round avoid this place, the service and food was bad, I have eaten Mexican food in many places including Mexico and America and this was just an insult to a fine cuisine.

The eateries range from Thai, Italian, Caribbean, deserts, meat, veggie. The vibe is always relaxed and they do a variety of different events. The environment is always clean and there are never (I've never seen one) any drunks knocking about the place. You can work from there in an afternoon and work into the early evening meet colleagues and have something to eat and drink and reminisce. The other great thing is it's right next to East Croydon train station easy access to teams and taxi ranks, what more could you need!!

(You can walk in just seconds after tapping out at a ticket barrier.) I don't think Croydon will become the Shoreditch of zone 5 anytime soon, but it seems like Boxpark will definitely spice up the local food scene. If you're a fan of food trucks, you'll love the concept here. But instead of kitchens on wheels, imagine actual storefronts serving up street food. The hardest part of your meal will be deciding what to eat because more than 30 eateries call Boxpark home. (Some restaurants also have street entrances.) Boxpark is made up of repurposed shipping containers -- this gives it a cool industrial vibe, but it isn't an obnoxious hipster atmosphere that would alienate anyone. But if you're eating in, note that it can get a little loud. I'd recommend the chicken schwarma wrap with lightly spiced fries from Lazeez (this meal was the only thing I could stomach during my jet lag-induced nausea) and the fried chicken bao from Bao Bao. However, expect food truck prices (read: high prices that don't justify the amount of food you get) but that might just be something that comes with the territory in London.
