This out of town fish & chip shop is here almost a year and a half.
It's located in the same location as a fuel station and a well stocked Spar mini supermarket. A cod & chip is £6.40.
The cod was really fresh, but it was a thin piece of fish for the price (£4). The batter is good and light, thankfully it isn't greasy, but it's not great.
Worst of all the batter doesn't stay crisp for very long which is essential (the whole idea of batter is not just to coat but to be a light, crisp shell) so it spoiled our enjoyment of the food, so maybe the batter needs some experimental trials as crispy batter would make it great.
A portion of french fried onions is £2 and they are darn good. They stayed crispy a bit longer than the fish.
Staff are a friendly bunch. Prices are fine, service was prompt and next time we'll eat in the carpark to have crispy batter. read more
