We first took a car in that we had already been given a repair estimate on from another local area shop. The estimate that Route 66 gave us was significantly cheaper. When we asked, the owner was able to explain why their estimate was so much cheaper and sure enough when we had specific information we could ask better questions of the first shop only to find they weren't really sure so they estimated it higher. We went with Route 66 who fixed it on the first try andknew what they were looking at. On a separate occasion, we had a situation on a much older vehicle that we were just using for the kids to drive. One of the kids took it to work where the catalytic converter was ripped out, but in a catastrophic way. Clearly the thieves didn't understand what they were doing, so the net result was everything was ripped out from the transmission lines all the way through to almost the tailpipe. It was crazy. They sent us photos and explained what must have happened and then helped us figure out what the best solution for us was, which essentially was talking themselves out of a huge repair bill. We have been taking our vehicles there for several years now and each time we are met with excellent, knowledgeable and reasonably priced service with a smile.

I was correct that it was a loss of spark. Oddly the receipt says no warranty at all, unless it's by the part maker. Considering this, and diagnosis fee- I told them no spark, its not a 5 star review considering the price. They fixed a high stress situation. Absolute bad job by Willowbrook PD. My car was disabled at the light on Route 83 South and 63rd. This is a horrible spot to be disabled. I called in requesting a push over to the shoulder, or at least the left turn lane next to me (getting out of the way of highway speed traffic). Either I could take a look or call roadside service. The cop refused and alleged it was unsafe to push me through the intersection. Having cars slam on their brakes behind you doing 60mph+ is unsafe. Didn't mind having the flatbed go into the intersection to load me onto the truck. I asked again and got the same replay after waiting 20 mins getting uneasy over the cars possibly crashing into us. He parked behind me and had his emergency lights off! Overrode me and ordered their own tow and wouldn't let me use my roadside assistance. Before this, I saw his truck (with push bars) casually coast through the grocery store parking lot. No sense of safety nor urgency. I literally should have put it into neutral and pushed it myself if I knew he would do this. Protect and serve, not me. Literally cost me $350 over what I could have fixed it myself for. Review is for both the repair and towing.

The analysis identified one issue and indicated what me the problem with other two. Part of the process was a free inspection that revealed other issues with the vehicle that made me decide it was not worth making repairs versus the value of the car. At least 3 hours of mechanic time went into this inspection, and although no work was actually done on the car, I felt it only fair to offer to pay them for their time. Nick graciously refused the offer, and merely asked me to consider My Mechanic for future service. I most certainly will!
