Not all Chipotle's are created equal... I placed a mobile order last night and essentially re-ordered what I normally get and selected the pick up location to be the Pinole location instead of the one by my work. Pick up was easy, my order was already there when I arrived and sealed safely. In great anticipation, I arrived home and hungry. However, after I took my first bite, I knew that there was something off. Initially, I thought I had grabbed the wrong burrito, however, when I re-checked the order label there was my name.. SO what was wrong? FIrst off the rice was just plain white rice stuck together- overcooked and soft, no flavor, no fluff and incredibly difficult to eat. The salsa lacked flavor and the beef was over cooked. Needless to say, it was not good. I will not visit this location again. read more

I used to go to chipotle pretty often, but over the years i've stopped going because how the employees scoop the items you pick. Bowls getting smaller and smaller. I just went today and i'm watching them scoop all the things I wanted on the bowl, not filling the ladel, and before putting it on the bowl, they dump a little bit off the ladel. The lady gets to the sour cream and i wish i was joking, she literally drizzles it on. Very little amount. I ask if i could please get some more, same thing again, drizzle of sour cream put on. I ask a third time for more and same thing. I end up asking for a side of sour cream and she says I just gave you three scoops! Yeah three scoops of hopes and dreams! I was like you can charge me for the side of sour cream... the price isn't an issue. She said she won't charge but next time they can't do this. So funny. I also felt very rushed through everything, I'm going down the row of saying things I want in the bowl, and shes going so fast in saying what next what next what next, that a few of the things she scooped I still wanted to ask for extra of that one since the scoop was so small. But she already had the ladle of the guac asking if I want this next... like I do but can we go back and fix all these portions you just gave me.... Like is this a tactic the workers are taught to do? Give no where near a full scoop of whatever it is the customer is getting, and move through the line so fast we don't get as much as a chance to ask for more? I remember going to chipotle years ago and I never had to ask for extra anything, they just... scooped proper portions. I wish I would've just said nevermind I don't want this anymore mid bowl being made. Horrible service with a side of eye rolls from the staff. After the CEO of chipotle who released that video a while back about portion sizes at Chipotle, and how unless its meat, you can always ask for more and won't be charged extra... After some morning meetings in Antioch, my colleague and I stopped by this Chipotle in Pinole for a late lunch. Its located in the same strip mall as Five Guys, so plenty of parking. Chipotle is still one of my favorite fast-casual restaurants. Despite some of the negative news hitting their corporation these past few years, I remain a loyal custom and shareholder. This particular store has a good sized seating area, and I like the modern leather stools. Maybe because it was a late lunch, but I did find the food section a bit messy and not with a whole lot of turnover. I love chipotle for the most part. I came in to this establishment on the way to a job and as soon as I got in the long line the register broke. I get it. Things happen. The problem is that there was barely any communication or apologies for the wait. If anything they were rude about it. So what we as consumers saw was 6 or more employees standing around or walking around, with no communication to us. I really wonder why they didn't think out of the box and tell people to just order and pay on the app...which is what I decided to do. I went up to the front of the line to the register and spoke to who I presume to be the manager (long blonde hair) and let her know I just ordered on line and am now in a time crunch for work. She snapped that it would show up soon (I could see from the display that the order was already in). I actually apologized for the rush but was now late for work - no response from her. She then took my lead and told the rest of the people that they can order and pay online too. Any gratitude to me for bringing that option up? Nope. I realized I forgot to order chips so I did the same online quickly before she was done with my single salad order. I told her I had ordered chips separately and she got angry and tossed the chips down onto the counter and carelessly dropped my food on the counter as well without so much as a "thank you for being patient". I really hope upper management sees this and uses it as a growth opportunity. It's high pressure with a lot of people in line. True. Not discounting that. But regardless, you should be kind and level headed. And never EVER throw food onto the counter in frustration. It's like I just paid to be flipped off. More often than not THIS location: Has a fairly friendly staff. Sometimes they are robotic bumps on a log, but it does even out with a often friendly crew. During rush hour meal times this place can get a long line and that often matches up with less employees for some reason. The lines do move slowly then. Will NEVER have an on-time online order. 10-15 minutes minimum is what you need to wait to pick up online orders AFTER their estimated time. Nearly ALWAYS has dirty tables that stay dirty for a very long time. There will always be food leftovers on, under and near your table. read more

I've never ever done a poor review. I've had great experiences with Chipotle in the past. But, Chipotle has had the worst press and social media coverage for months. I refrained from eating here due to the negative reviews. I finally felt the need to try for myself. Tonight's order was 2 steak salads, we were tired and placed a delivery order. Order arrives, so thankful to our driver 5 stars! The food was an abomination! 'SALADS' had almost zero lettuce (first oddity), then we came to find out that the 'salads' without dressing were sitting in 1/2 inch of unstrained bean water????? We literally had to remove them from the container ant put them in a strainer. Dressing was on the side, so there is no confusion. It was just poorly executed. $20 bucks an hour should be spent on staff and leadership that actually care about delivering a quality product to consumers. REALLY BAD! I have to assume this is the norm with Chipotle now.....probably time for better leadership from CEO down. Just a sad experience.....straining a salad with no lettuce SMH! It's TWO hours before closing and I'm here in Chipotle now watching one guy clean the grill top, one guy carry a ladder around aimlessly, two workers in the kitchen talking, one guy scrubbing the counters with a dirty rag, a lady bringing in outdoor furniture (Mia), and only ONE guy (Frankie) tending to the to-go orders, making all the in-person orders, and manning the register. Credit given to Mia, she is the only person who later stepped in and helped Frankie. THIS AINT RIGHT!! Hello, Chipotle Pinole! I love Chipotle and have eaten at a fair number of their restaurants, but this is one of the more so-so locations, and here's why I say that, based on my personal experiences there. First off, it's apparent the front end people, in particular the woman serving up the orders, doesn't care one whit about what she's doing. Might as well be going to an Automat to get my food. That wouldn't be so bad except for my second reason for not liking this location much: You're stingy. Sure, Covid hit. Inflation hit. But I eat out all the time and I've got my finger on the pulse of how restaurants have been coping to keep costs in check. Some, like Red Robin, have cheapened up their ingredients and it shows. Won't be going back there for a while! Others have instituted a 'shrinkflation' policy, shrinking portions. This is a sign that the establishment isn't doing well. The restaurants that have kept things as close as possible to pre-Covid quality and quantity are the places that are thriving. Even if it means a slight cost increase. When I go to a restaurant, I want to be served some FOOD. This isn't the Ritz. Make me want to come back for the value. Don't just sprinkle a few grams of cheese on top.
