The food was just okay, my jumbo jack lacked freshness of the veggies that were inside my burger and the tacos were not that crispy, a little soggy and not crunchy. I came by Jack In the Box in the morning. It is hard to get out due to cars not allowing anyone to leave the parking lot. The drive thru can be hectic with lines coming from Pinole Valley Rd. The inside of Jack in the Box is maintain. This location has been there since the 1980s and they still manage to keep the inside maintain. I enjoy getting my breakfast at Jack in the Box compare to going to Burger King and McDonald's. We've been here off and on over the years and never appreciated them until experiencing a Jack in the Box that was substandard. This Jack-in-the-Box, here in Pinole Valley, is close enough to my home and we've decided to make it our go to place when we want food from Jack. So today we had breakfast options and everything was really fresh, not pre-cooked and re-warm, and then sold to you as if it's a brand new. I don't like used food. We ordered online, and picked up through the drive-through. It was seamless and pretty darn quick. I don't have anything bad to say! You can get burgers at breakfast, you can get breakfast at breakfast, you can get breakfast all day long! You can get burgers all day long! Hubbers didn't feel like homecooked breakfast (if I didn't know any better, he just didn't want me to work, although I enjoy it) and opted for a supreme croissant breakfast sandwich at JIB instead. So, I went for a short drive. The one closer to home was closed due to a power outage (which sucked for the workers because they were there just hanging around outside waiting for what to do next.) This place was kinda around the corner (like within a couple of miles kind of corner) so the drive was no biggie. It also helped I was the only one going through the drive through. Got Hubber's preference and I went for the loaded breakfast sandwich sans cheese. VERDICT: the food was really good! Made to order is always a plus but the quality was beyond reasonable! It really hit that hunger spot head-on! So, my last experience with another JIB was that it was a little pricey. (Good, but a bit pricey.) This time felt a lot more reasonable. FOOD: 5. My goodness where do I start. Been coming here for years. The Latin lady with the glasses that works the drive thru needs to go somewhere with that horrendous attitude. I had a huge issue with her 2 years ago and just this morning she was at the drive thru. I'm not sure what her issue is. She's not a fan of the online order. I ask nicely for bbq sauce and she tells me oh I put ranch in your bag already. She didn't give me the bbq sauce till I reached in the bag and gave her the ranch back. Pretty ridiculous. Also very bad customer service skills. I respect my elders, but if your gonna deal with customers you need to be have compassion. If not work somewhere else honestly. I even tried a new item that was advertised on the menu. $5.99 for The Cluck sandwich with a special sauce, fries and drink. The meal was good! Okay, so this just happened. We decided to order some food from Jack in the box because my kids were hungry. While enjoying the mini tacos, the last piece of tacos almost went in my stomachs as well. For some odd reason, this piece of mini taco stared at me and stopped me from eating it. This is when I spotted a paper clip in the taco shell, it was actually embedded in the taco shell. I appreciate the 24 hr drive thru. I love how crispy and crunchy the French toast sticks and the sourdough jacks are when I order at this location. My only true vice with this location is the regular tacos. They're always soft and cold when I order them here. Solid pass on the tacos but otherwise a good fast food chain. read more

In this town things are dead after 2 am except the Jack in the Box... therefore no shame in coming here. Long lines at the drive through for your midnight burrito. I suspect from some drunk guy in front of you demanding some item off the menu that doesn't exist. I overheard somebody requesting a crunchy something or another. When people are hungry and they have to wait things go crazy fast. I heard some honking and yelling out the window. Some polite young people attempted to go through the drive through without a car and without a doubt they are now left traumatized for life. This is in a nice new area. I really can't complain about my local Jack In The Box. Well, I can...but why? Here are the reasons why I won't complain... (1) The drive-thru is open when I need it to be (after hours on a weekend) (2) They get my order right...but even if they didn't I would still eat it because greasy foods sure taste good after a night of drinking (3) They don't give me dirty looks when I ask for extra buttermilk (4) They always say thank you and wish me a good night. Wow, I just realized how long the review I just wrote for Jack in the Box in Hercules was. That particular location is the winner of my all-time worst fast food restaurant award, a landmark achievement of incompetence, bad management, and dis-service. This Jack in the Box in Pinole s#cks in a different way. Don't get me wrong, they still screw up their special orders with regularity, but is still much better than the one in Hercules, perhaps because they see more traffic. What's awful about this location is the attitude that you get from the workers here. Personally, I think it's the same owner as the Hercules location since the staffing seems similar. I think I have even seen some of the workers here at the other location before. Regardless, this location in Pinole seems just a little more competent and a lot more rude. After getting fed up at the other location, my parents still wanted Jack in the Box, so I started taking them to get food at this one which is just one freeway exit away. Well...this one managed to screw up our orders as well. Now if that's not bad enough, this one had an angry little woman with an attitude overseeing the operations who got my order wrong who then insisted and swore up and down that this is what I had ordered. Excuse me? I only order the same exact thing for them every single time, but no, it must have been my fault. Yeah right. Even if I had ordered wrong (which I am certain I did not), I have to question the intelligence of a manager that argues with a customer over their order. Are you kidding me? With the kind of people skills that she possesses, I hope she enjoys what she is doing for a long time since that's all they can ever hope to accomplish in life. Once upon a time, I worked at this particular JiB. (Once upon a LONG-ASS time ago, I mean: fifteen years have passed.) So I have a little insider information. It's a bit stale, but I think we can extrapolate from it to cover the present day. The manager was evil. After observing him for some time, I came to the conclusion that there is nobody more angry and unhappy than a corporate fast-food manager. The franchisee at least has some freedom to run his restaurant as he likes; the corp guys are beholden to the higher-ups. This causes them tremendous psychic distress, and usually results in taking it out on the employees. In the case of our evil manager, he did things like hit us (!), make us work late and then clock us out to avoid paying overtime (!!) and have assignations with his mistress in the walk-in cooler (!!!). That last thing wasn't really directed at the employees, I just happen to think it's pretty funny. And then there were the customers. I was just a teen trying to make a few bucks in an economy that wasn't exactly welcoming for someone with no experience and no education as of yet, but that didn't stop the lardy masses from treating me and my coworkers like mess scraped from their shoes. Note to all fast-food customers everywhere: if your order taker isn't exactly bubbling over with enthusiasm, keep in mind that he or she has probably been insulted six ways to Tuesday by customers already, and most likely the boss as well. It's hard to be perky in those conditions. Anyway, I tried not to take it too personally, given that most of the people who treated me badly had clearly failed at life, and needed to take it out on somebody. Circle of life. You would think of Jack in the box restaurants would all be the same however I found that the Pinole Jack in the box is the best in the area..... I usually use the drive-thru , the service fast the employees are are very nice and their jumbo jacks are absolutely delicious!!! I don't know how they do it I've had them from other Jack in the boxes... And none of them compared to Pinole location... Consistently good & flavorful just like an old fashioned hamburger from a diner....
