Food used to be really good, I don't know if they changed chefs or something but I never go to this location anymore. It's filthy in there, trash overflowing everywhere. I came out shopping and to spread good cheer. But when I shop at derby at I come in for a burrito at chipotles. It's a 50/50 shot of good service and competent employees. Today the boy who prepared my good was rude and seemingly dumb as a stump. He was absolutely not willing to check if there were some chopped jalapeños. This place has no consistency. Yesterday was the worst. The guy at the start of the line was arrogant and rude. I was ordering four dinners and spent over $30 at a fast food chain. At least they should rob you with a smile. When I called to complain to the manager, it turns out he was the manager. No wonder everyone else was miserable. If it were possible to borrow three additional stars from Pinera Bread and give them to you, for a total of 8 stars, I would. I just had the best bowl of my Chipotle career. The same burrito technician worked my order throughout the entire process. I felt like this helped me build esprit de corps with the employee handling my food and made the experience more personal. The bowl also had the perfect ratio of ingredients; my final fork full still had chicken, pinto beans, corn, vegetables and medium salsa in it. I will drive by 4 other closer, more convenient, chipotles to get to this specific store. Someday I will tell my grandkids of this spectacular dining experience. read more

Food is awesome. Place is dirty, which is very unlike Chipotle. There were only two bottles of Tabasco sauce out; one Chipotle and one original. There was no green Tabasco. The two bottles that where there were almost empty. There is, however, plenty of seating. read more

Food is fresh and very good. Love the Fritos vegetarian bowl so good. But the service is not exactly great. The people seem lost in the process and the cash registers is a bottle neck. On several occasions there has been a younger girl who has been tasked with wrapping my burrito, and each time it has been wrapped poorly. Worst of all was tonight, I opened my burrito (which was wrapped in two layers of tin foil to hide the mistake) and it was split almost in half from her wrapping. As I was eating it ingredients poured out of the side of the burrito. The staff is efficient but the lack of quality in wrapping a burrito can make or break the overall experience of eating it. read more

Listen, I love Chipotle and all, but half the time I place an order online, they forget to make it. So when I get there, they rush the order though. This is on top of having a 40 minute wait time after ordering the items. I wish I could say it was just for this one Chipotle near my house, but unfortunately I encounter this problem regularly. I use to work in Derby st and would always order chipotle ahead of time on the app. However lately this location has been such a disappointment. I continue to order my food ahead and my order is always completely wrong. Staff is always rude with an attitude for some reason. I went to this Chipotle last night and have been in bed all day with food poisoning. I have probably thrown up more than 15 times and I had to cancel my trip to North Carolina. Summary: Good Fresh Burritos More: Chipote is a chain. I won't spend a huge time other than to say that the Hingham store is a good example of the chain. The people working at the store are friendly and helpful. The derby street shops location is great. They actually replaced a Baja Fresh that didn't work out for some reason. read more

The Hingham location is an absolute nightmare!!! I'd go elsewhere, but the next nearest location is 25 min further away from me. The biggest issue I have is when I order online and walk into the restaurant, I expect to not have to wait. That's the entire point of ordering online! I understand that location is busy, so waiting up to 5 minutes is totally acceptable. But, half of the time the workers don't even acknowledge the people standing in the online order line. Then when they finally get around to asking your name, the food isn't even ready. Waiting for 20-25 minutes isn't uncommon. A lot of times, like today, the entire regular line was finished before they even acknowledged me standing up at the counter waiting to give my name for pickup. And of course, the food wasn't even made yet. Give us a discount or a free meal when this shit happens. Pay your employees more. Stop hiring people that don't give a fuck. Do something! read more

This particular Chipotle location is very disappointing, and that is generous. I have frequented the Needham & Medford. Both of these stores are consistent with the quality found in the California locations, which were very good. The Derby street "restaurant" is messy/dirty. Staff are detached, and clearly just punching a time clock. And, most importantly, the quality & flavor of the food is consistent in only one way : either too salty, or completely tasteless. In general Chipotle's price is $$, and for such a poor product. I live in the neighborhood & will NEVER return. read more

Ok - I like the food here, salt and all. Wish it were healthier, but it's okay. But the combination of the utterly confusing and incomplete menu on the wall, and the rude, useless and at times impatient people who work there make actually going there an experience to be avoided. At this point I have to have my son or wife order the food and pick it up, each of whom has memorized the menu and the applicable fixings for each option (burrito vs quesadilla) and therefore more often than not avoid the scorn of the employees. Just a fyi I've seen these nasty people pick food up off the counter and throw it back in the trays. Tonight my burrito was half rice, a tiny bit of chicken, and half cheese. I told the guy there was way too much cheese and guess what he does- picks up the cheese off my burrito and tosses it back in the bin if cheese. Absolutely disgusting. I love the freshness of the food but some of the cook's have such a bad attitudes. its like they hate their jobs, and hate you for seeing them do it. They should be grateful they have a job and for people spending hard earned money on going there allowing them to get paid.. Don't worry be happy! I have never written a review like this ever, but the last time I went to this chipotle was the worst and last time ill ever go. I ordered ahead for 7:30 pickup, got there, waited in line for an HOUR, just to hear from a quite rude employee that they "didnt have my order"... which was strange, because I had the order confirmation AND the confirmation that i paid for the order (and yes, it was to the right store). I showed him my confirmation to which he replied " I dont know what to tell you we dont have it" and pushed me aside to deal with somebody else. After another 15 minutes of standing there I asked for them to just make my food and they complied, but the fact that they lost my ALREADY PAID FOR order and took over an hour and 15 minutes to give me my food is ridiculous. Everyone in line was complaining that their orders were late, and the pickup setup this store has due to covid makes absolutely no sense and could be done in a much, MUCH better manner. read more

This has got to be the worst chipotle location I have ever been to. I've been here maybe 3 times. Definitely will not return. First time was a weekend, very busy so but still not an excuse for poor quality food. Gave it another chance recently and it was ok but same, staff seem untrained, unhappy, the place was a mess. Just went for the last time last night. I KNEW I shouldn't have since I already wasn't a fan of Derby street location but thought let me give it one more try because, I'm hungry. Worst burrito ever. I couldn't even finish half! The rice and beans were undercooked, the chicken quality was LOW with fatty/hard pieces I couldn't chew and the flavor was way under par. Like someone else said, where is management? It never seems to be clean behind the counter. The tables, yes messy, but a dirty kitchen is unacceptable and no one seems to care. The place is usually full of highschool kids in their sports uniforms so I'm sure they don't really pay attention to the quality/uncleanliness but this location needs help pronto! I loved this place when I first started coming, the food was great, the staff was awesome. Lately it has been the worst, and seems to get worse and worse each time I come. Each time I come they mess up my order, or forget it all together. Such a disappointment, the food isn't cheap and I travel a good distance just to come. If a rating of -1 could be given, this is what this establishment would receive. An absolutely horrible experience - right down to the incompetent manager Briana McMillan. We were returning from Maine not yet home, my son who is at home asks if he could order chipotle and have it delivered. He orders a chicken burrito and chips. The order is delivered- and it is a burrito bowl - not what he ordered. He calls Chipotle and they could do NOTHING for him they said he had to call Door Dash even though they messed up the order and gave the driver the wrong food. He calls Door Dash and they said they couldn't do anything for him because they delivered the order on time to the correct address - not their issue that Chipotle messed up. By this time we arrived home and are told the issue. We call Chipotle and ask for the manager. We get connected to Briana - she sounds about 12 years old and has in IQ lower than a stink bug. She continues to blame Door Dash for the issue even though Chipotle messed up the ordered - she was incapable of understanding the mistake was with her not with the other company. After 15 minutes of argument with her we ask for our $ back - she said she couldn't refund but we could drive to Chipotle and she could provide us with the correct order and give a coupon for future purchases. At this point I am fuming and cannot believe her solution. We were not about to drive to Derby street during the height of crazy Christmas shoppers there with all the insane traffic- if we wanted to do that we would never have ordered delivery in the 1st place. I will never go there again- mediocre food (when you GET what you ordered)and just plain STUPID staff. read more

This is one dirty, sloppy location! We have been a few times and each time the floors are covered with food from previous customers, tables are not cleaned between customers and the drink/recycle area is as filthy as a gas station rest room! Trash overflowing, counters covered with garbage and crud - just disgusting! This is a very busy location with most of the clientele being high school students - it's always packed. Given the amount of traffic that goes through this place, one would think there would be someone on constant duty keeping the front eating area/drink station clean (?) Nope. Instead, the serving area is overloaded with an abundance of helpers and the front is a wasteland of filth with no cleaners in sight. Our last meal left us all with terrible indigestion for hours and is the last straw. Dirty. Management needs to wake up. Will not be back. read more

You can't get any better than this place. The customer service is amazing and should be the bar for the rest of the industry. The general manager, Rodney, is exemplary and it shows in his team and the atmosphere he creates for his guests. My two young daughters had lunch here for the first time yesterday and he turned what was a very intimating process (there was a line out the door and the customers were in a rush), into the best experience they ever had at a restaurant.
