The last five times I've attempted to go elsewhere when in a pinch and needing a quick and dirty burger, I have physically changed course because Five Guys was nearby. And by nearby, I mean twenty minutes away. Worth it. The brand is best in its class, and this location loves to pile on the bacon. So, that's a double win. I don't normally write a review but felt this restaurant deserved a great review. I have been up and down the east coast, from Boston to Florida and over to Texas. Have been to many Five Guys in my travels. This one, in Hanover MA, is the absolute best. Ordered a BLT and tiny fries. The BLT had real strips of bacon and not crumbs. It had so much bacon needed two hands to really eat it. The tiny fries were cooked to perfection and just enough for me and my dog to share. The staff was friendly, outgoing and just nice. Don't know why, for a chain, they all aren't like this one, but I'm so glad I found it. Will definitely make this my go to place. read more

Sitting here waiting on an order and I just saw the folks here turn over about 20+ people in under 10 mins. All while telling each other they're doing great. Its a fast food joint that serves up burgers-- so don't expect a "5-star" restaurant, just expect a damn good burger served up the way it should be done. Also, if you've been to a 5 Guys, you know what you're getting here, this is pretty run of the mill. All that said, I love this place probably more than I should. And there's a couple reasons for that.... Its fast food, but its cooked to order. This isn't like those other fast food places where you place your order and its ready in 60 seconds. Place your order and grab some free peanuts while you wait for everything to be prepared fresh and to-order. Free peanuts! Don't want to spring for fries? Fill up on these little guys instead. The burger itself. I know its not very good for me, but I love these patties, covered in gooey cheese and crispy bacon, topped with whatever I ask for. And the fries. Sometimes over salted, they're cooked nice and crispy and delicious. And they're tossed into the bag, overflowing from their container. If you're not stuffed after a burger and an order of these guys, you're inhuman. Whomever cooked the bacon today should be re-trained. Whomever assembled the burger with that bacon, should get a lesson in quality control. WAY OVER cooked. It was as hard as a rock. I was having a bad enough day at work, i was fortunate enough to have someone run out and pick me up my order. Unfortunately this was the outcome. For $14+ with a drink, it was a total spank. The last four times we visited this Five Guys property, we called in the order from their parking spots and three times there was a total melt down of service. We called in and spoke to Chris two of the times, and today we spoke to Miliessa. Today she told me the owner owns 8 stores, and seems to know what he is doing. Troy (MGR) told us he will give us a free dinner anytime, which we did and that was the only time we received the order right. Two of the times they totally forgot about us outside, until I called again and they said. Oh it is sitting right here ! Come on guys, this store is not that busy to forget about a order. Overall the place is really clean and provides a good burger. My only complaint is on price! I could do a sit down dinner for the same cost if not less money. I will continue to come here now and again but I would return more often if the prices were adjusted. Despite all the critics' raves, I went only having the expectation that it was packed. Luckily I hit a lull right before lunch, and sure enough--there was a line to the door while I waited for my burger. The staff operates smoothly, so despite being at the head of an order surge, there were many burgers made and sent through. My order number was checked before my meal was given over, so save your slip. Good to know: they have caffeine-free diet coke. Also, there is an open container of peanuts for the munching while you wait. I had the little bacon cheeseburger and fries. First, the fries: they are crispy and the regular order is enough to feed two people who are moderately hungry. The origins of the potatoes are written on a chalkboard by the counter. My burger tasted mostly of very nicely done bacon, which I didn't mind, but a little beef taste would have been nice. The condiments I asked for, lettuce, tomato, pickles (crinkle-cut dill) and ketchup, were very plentiful and slid out of the bun. The cheese wasn't melted, because it was in with the lettuce and tomato, not getting the heat from the burger to melt it. Next time I may just get the burger to get the proper feel for it, and there will be a next time, since it is very conveniently located near Target, and you can smell the cooking in the parking lot. read more

I made a New Year's resolution a few years ago to give up fast food. And my friends still ask me how I can justify going to Five Guys' and the answer is simple. Five Guys' is not fast food. They have a very simple menu and they cook their burgers fresh and made to order just like any short-order joint would. It may not be the healthiest option, but the burgers are absolutely delicious and and juicy as a well-done burger you will find. Add to that fresh cut potato fries and an assortment if condiments and you could scour the Earth looking for an equivalent match to their recipe and not succeed. It's easy to get in and out of since it's in the new Target shopping center off Rt. 53. The place is practically always busy, and it's best to travel in a pack. There's one person to stand in line and another person to stake out a table and chairs. The food itself isn't half bad. A little hamburger (I'm not a toppings kind of gal) along with splitting a large fry with my dining companion will more than fill me up. The little hamburgers have one patty and the regular burgers have two patties. The regular fries are a cup of fries with another cup of fries thrown on top of them in a brown paper bag. The large fries are a large cup of fries with a regular cup of fries thrown on top of them in a brown paper bag. Basically, it's a lot of fries so if you're dining with someone, it's best to split an order. They aren't gourmet burgers, and this isn't five-star dining. Randolph opened one like 2 or 3 years ago, and I've always passed by not knowing about their tasteful fries, or their made-to-cook burgers. I came to this FGB because its down the street from work-skis. You go in, you order your food. Regular burger = 2 patties. Little burger = 1 patty. You can have whatever topping you want. You name it, you got it. Regular or Large size fries? Sure. Large size is meant to share with someone (in my professional opinion) , or unless you're just really hungry. You can get them either lightly salted or even better-CAJUN. Cajun has way, way more flavor. Ahhh... Yes. I just drooled a little. Whenever I wanna feel fat, FGB will do the job. Ummm...I don't get the hype. Yeah, it's OK, but the line here for a mediocre burger is a tad bit ridiculous. I went on a Saturday around noon with a few family members. The time probably explains why it was so crowded, but I don't got no patience, yo. And people were shoving past you, rushing to get seats, standing wherever they wanted. Can I get some order, people? I had a bacon burger, it was OK, but nothing special. And can somebody tell me why they have no other kinds of cheese aside from American? Gross. We have ate a few of these in the last couple weeks while crossing the USA in our RV. I've decided for what you get they are too expensive. I'm just as happy eating at Wendy's for much cheaper and I can order my Cheeseburger anyway I want there too ! This place was it for us, after buying the $3.29 bag of fries we opened it up and the little cup was full...whoopee...and 8 more fries laying in bag. When fries are shorter than a inch it's not fries but it's a nice way to clean out your fries area and lose a customer. We like Five Guys as a step above fast food, but this place is a little wanting. First, the food. Our cajun fries were so heavily seasoned, they were hardly edible. Ease off the gas pedal, guys! The burgers were A-OK, as expected. I was disappointed by the scant toppings. But overall, tasty. The floor of the dining area was a disaster. Napkins, food wrappers, bits of fries everywhere. The tables were "cleaned off" but not wiped down. It may have been that it was close to closing time, but any franchise knows to keep everything "on par" til the very last minute. I can't understand why there isn't more love for Five Guys in these reviews, but I guess it's a combination of the price and the lack of space. It may also have to do with the anarchy involved in getting a seat and soda in this place as the layout isn't exactly optimal. If you haven't been to Five Guys yet, I do urge you to try it. It is pricey, but the burger is delicious. A standard burger comes with two patties unless you order a small burger, in which case you get one. You can get it with or without cheese and bacon as well. For toppings they have everything you can think of from standard lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard or mayo to grilled onions, mushrooms or jalapeno. The fries are delicious. I grew up in Montreal and I've been longing for a decent french fry in Massachusetts for years. They use peanut oil to fry up their hand cut fries and they are not the typical fries you would get a McDonald's or Burger King. They are thick, tasty and crispy and gosh I wish these guys would make Poutine because these fries would be perfect for it. They have malt vinegar too if you like that kind of thing, but if I'm doing vinegar on my fries, I prefer white as the malt variety smells like feet to me. The only draw back is the location of the soda machine and the condiment stand. Everyone waits for their orders right there and it's a tight squeeze to get by. The other drawback is a lack of tables to seat more than two people. We ended up eating at the bar facing the window, but it was OK with me. One thing I did notice was the music, it was a slight bit louder than normal but was really good, they played a lot of 70's and 80's rock which had me signing off key to my family (which probably made them think the food was making them sick to their stomach - I will have to clarify that to them). It's the freshest, tastiest burger within a 15 ride from my house and I will be back. I like quality and don't mind paying a little more for it. Five Guys seems to remind me of a 50's burger joint. I don't know why, maybe it's the red and white checkered theme. The big hype at Five Guys of course, is the burgers and fries, which are amazing. I go here at least once a month and I tend to always get the same thing: A cheeseburger plain with a large french fry. The patties are warm, juicy, and delicious, and the fries are out of this world. You can purchase two styles of fries: Cajun or Five Guys Style, which both don't disappoint. The Cajun fries are good if you're in the mood for some spicy. Five Guys always tends to give me a ton of extra fries, which one of the cooks once considered, "I set you up mate!". If you're a little hungry before your burger, grab a stash of peanuts that they offer. The atmosphere of the place is another main thing. Anything from the comment board with funny, nice, or even rude comments, the red and white checkered bathrooms, the "Zagat Top Rated" banners, the 50 pound sacks of potatoes, and even the metal tables and chairs that look like they're wooden. It all makes the building delicious itself. The service is average. You'll wait a little less than 10 minutes to get a meal, which isn't bad at all, considering the place is usually packed with everyday burger-goers. A lot of people think that there should be more variety on the menu, considering they only sell burgers, fries, hot dogs, and a grilled cheese or veggie sandwich. Wouldn't that ruin the theme of burgers and fries? I think so. Maybe a turkey burger or a veggie burger for non-beef eaters, or maybe even a salad, but nothing more. I highly doubt Five Guys will add any of those items to their menu. Considering there is a McDonald's a mile up the street, it's way more worth going to Five Guys. Just take an extra $5 out of your wallet and grab a burger that's 50 times more delicious than McDonald's. Five Guys isn't your average burger joint. It's amazing and worth giving it a shot. The place just has amazing burgers that I could eat for the rest of my life, but I would turn into a fat sack. If you feel guilty about eating a meal that's 1,000 calories, don't. It is healthier than the the other joints and you wait 10 to 11 minutes for fresh good. The customer service is amazing. I would so go here all the time if I could but then I would be a fat kid.
