This is by far my favorite chipotle in the area but dang the consistency is not there. The meats either good or super overcooked, they run out of everything, and every time i come my burritos get smaller and smaller and smaller. Its like instead of a scoop its a half scoop. I paid a visit to the Clive location on Labor Day. I was craving Mexican food so I was like "what the hell?" I stopped and had a burrito bowl because that's what the cool kids get when they go there. I get home and start to eat and was fine for awhile. But then, I started getting a tummy ache. Then I was in the bathroom. No biggie. It happens all the time. It stopped and I was fine for the rest of the night. But Tuesday morning came and I was nauseous and threw up. I had some Gatorade and that helped with my symptoms at work, but then right at the end of my 8 hour shift, it happened again. Stomach upset. And it was continuous and lasted pretty much all night into this morning. I have eaten Mexican and guacamole before and never have gotten this sick. Maybe I could be allergic to guacamole, not sure, but after I read the Reddit I knew I wasn't alone in my struggle. It's clear that Chipotle hasn't learned a thing since they had to pay $25 million in the recent outbreaks. I am hoping that no one makes the same mistake I did. Please. There are some really good Mexican places around you can order from and do takeout. Stay far away from Chipotle. read more

Chipotle do better. The quesadilla can only be placed on the app and it's quite sad it's never made correctly. Half of the time all the ingredients are missing or half of them are. Quite disappointing. It's also upsetting that they think it can be fixed with a free entree or drink coupon. If you have messed up the ordered twice in a row I think I learned my lesson. I really hate writing negative reviews and really wish this had been a positive experience but I'm so frustrated and disappointed in the lack of service I received here. I was so shocked because I have experienced nothing but amazing service from other chipotle stores for catering and have been raving about using the catering service. But I'm really second guessing ever going to chipotle after this experience. I placed a large catering order the afternoon before my night pick up time. My pick up time was 6:30PM. I arrived a little before 7PM. Walked up to the counter. It took about 10 minutes before I was even able to speak to someone working the counter. There was a huge line and a lot of ppl waiting for their order online meals. It appeared to be chaotic, unorganized and simply a mess in the store. The kitchen and food area was gross and dirty and not put together. When I finally got to speak to someone, I mentioned I had a large catering order I put in the afternoon before. They went to the back and came back 5 minutes later to tell me the Morning shift manger didn't see my order and it wasn't done at all. They said they could give me a refund or make my food but they said it could be another 30-40 minutes due to other costumers and the Keegan (night swift manger) left to work without even hearing my decision. It took another 10 minutes to even get anyone to talk to me again. I told me I prefer a refund and they just gave me a piece of paper with a phone number on it and said to call and that was it. There was barely an apology or action taken when I was there to rectify their mistake and now I'm left with more work on my plate to get a refund for my catering order. Writing a negative review about a food service place and trying to get a refund through chipotle was not what I wanted to do on my workday. So disappointed. I wish this was a positive review. We continue to give this location a second chance and every time we get more and more frustrated. Today our order was delayed 20 minutes beyond when the app said it was ready. The prep table had been broken down at 8:45pm, every surface was filthy. I almost asked if I could cancel my order after I watch a burrito get wrapped on the back counter on top of a pile of lids that had been thrown there from the prep table. Not the best Chipotle experience. Ordered via the app and headed over for pick up. When I got there, it was 10 minutes past my pick up time, order wasn't ready. I wasn't in any hurry so I waited, and then I heard they just ran out of an ingredient I ordered. I asked if they could just cancel my order, which they had no idea how to do. Terrible experience in West Des Moines, Iowa. I visited at 1:30 pm on a Saturday and apparently the lunch rush must've been too much for them. I have had four disappointing visits to this location. They are constantly out of various fillings for burritos. Last night they were out of EVERY form of protein AND grilled vegetables. Frequently they are out of grilled vegetables. They charge a premium price for their food, you should at least get to put what you want into your burrito. This is my last time at this location. It has really gone down hill. Waited in line for 15 min as 4 of the 7 workers stood around talking and not working. Several ppl behind me waiting as well. Worst Chipotle I've ever been to. The entire restaurant is trashed. The dining area is disgusting, not one single table is clean. The prep area is trashed as well. They didn't even have a clean basket for my burrito. Trash cans are full in the prep area. There is piles of trash on the counter in the prep area. The list goes on. Clearly no management or proper supervision has been present in who knows how long. Edit to add that some (maybe half) of the tables in the dining area were wiped after I posted this. By far the worst Chipotle I've been to. The restaurant is quite dirty; from the tables, floors and kitchen they cook/serve their food. The staff are bleak and you can tell the customer is not their priority--all the want to do is keep the line moving and they get frustrated when questions are asked about their menu. Now for the kicker--they do not serve you quesadillas unless you order them online! I asked why this is the case and the manager replied, "it's just our policy, but you can order kid's quesadillas in person". What?! You have the time to make several kids quesadillas but not regular ones... At this point I gave up and left the store without ordering. You would think a Mexican chain would want to make quesadillas because it's a high end item, where the business makes the most money from that item. Anyways, long story short, go to Pancheros! No words for this type of service. Waited in line for over 45 minutes while the workers decided it was a better use of time to clean the counters than serve waiting customers backed up to the door. No apologies were given and absolutely no sense of urgency. One of the employees decided to take a break as soon as I got up to the counter where I continued to wait for another 10 minutes. Just left the restaurant after that with no food and no acknowledgement. Have had multiple similar experiences like this before. Chipotle may serve fast food, but they're process lets you make it as healthy as you want by varying the portions and the options you select. I usually opt for a bowl with tortillas on the side and another side containing the wet ingredients. Tip: When you order a buritto if you don't customize it properly it tends to be so bulky and big that it's actually hard to eat. By ordering it with the wet ingredients on the side it's not only a more manageable size but you can save the leftovers without the whole thing getting soggy. The servers are always efficient and polite, and they always get my order correct. They don't skimp on the fillings or meat and they're very accommodating when it comes to specific requests for more rice or less beans, and salsas on the side. read more

This location leaves a lot to be desired. While the employees work fast and hard, the prep area was absolutely disgusting. All the toppings were all over (take a rag and swipe clean, takes a second). One of the employees even dropped an F bomb while making the burrito and as she attempted to roll my burrito, instead of doubling up with another tortilla, she literally squeezed the burrito as if wringing a towel where 1. All the juices spilled out making the tortilla soggy and 2. not fully wrapping the burrito after mutilating it. Sad to say I lost my appetite. The drink area was horrific. No ice, dirty, and the "fresh drinks" looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in months. I was only imagining what I wasn't seeing on the pop machine. They were out of napkins and forks too. This was a good choice for a late lunch :) my friend got some sort of steak burrito and loved it- it was very filling and she couldn't finish it. I opted for a salad bowl with cilantro-rice, a corn salsa, pico de gallo, another salsa they had, and guacamole- of course! It was very delicious- I haven't had chipotle in a long time, but this is the location we used to always come to! The staff was friendly and got our orders done quickly. We went at a time when it wasn't busy so we had plenty of options for seating. Be careful of cross contamination though if you have dietary restrictions- I had them get my guacamole from a different container because the one in front of me had cheese in it. read more
