¡Hola, me llamo Chet Burgers! Let me start off by saying, Mi Abuela has been cooking authentic Mexican comida since I was a little nino. So lets just say my expectations were pretty lofty. Even considering this, to say my experience was a disappointment is an understatement. Let me be clear, this restaurant perverts a proud people's cuisine. The people that work there ought to be ashamed. After what felt like many anos waiting behind a foul smelling, obnoxious, puta, who chatted into her dumb phone about about some dumb puta problem, I was able to order. Despite this annoyance, I tried to maintain a positive disposition, greeting the worker with a friendly "hola", to which I was met with daggers for eyes, Aye Caramba. I proceeded to fill out my bowl, and looked on with complete horror as the most measly and pathetic scoops were slapped on to my measly and pathetic bowl. I know if I was a gringo, I would have gotten a gluttonous amount of food, but alas. I paid (an exorbitant price) and proceeded to scarf down the bowl, which was very easy to do, considering its pathetic quantity. The food was subpar, and to reiterate, a gross bastardization of authentic Mexicana - how I miss tamales con mis amigos. As I sat washing down this excuse of a meal with a Barqs root beer (to cheap for Mug apparently), a sharp and tight pain struck my abdomen. As I limped to the bathroom in a hurry, I muscled open the shoddy bathroom door, to find their wretched bathroom was occupied. I let out a blood (foreshadowing) curdling yell, and the occupant quickly fled the dive bar esque stall. A hot sensation troubled my nether regions, as a whistling noise erupted (and not from my mouth). Quick, shooting pains paralyzed my lower body. Hot liquid diarrhea shot out of me at extraordinary velocities. For what felt like mucho horas, I sat, clutching the wall and praying to mi dios. I looked into the bowl at the red and brown explosion, much how I imagine the alamo looked as Santa Anna's army was defeated. Trembling, I reached for the sand papery, single ply toilet paper, and went to wipe. Nothing, not a single speck. ¿¿¿Que??? My shaking legs managed to carry my weak body out of the restaurant, I woke up in my bed with bruises covering my body - no recollection how I got there. Please Hombres, stay away from Chipotle. Tonight was the second time this week I have placed a pick up order, just to show up to locked doors before 11:00 pm. First time, they issued a refund and an email that said "sorry it didn't work out, please give us another chance next time" so I tried today since the refund hit my account, just for the same experience when I showed up. Stop closing early, change your hours, or turn off online ordering when you close if this is how you operate because if I'm too tired to cook for myself for the night and am ordering pickup, it's an annoying waste of my time to find out I can't receive my food but also have to sit on the phone to get my money back. read more

I ordered Chipotle through the app, I went and picked it up then went home. I was disappointed when I opened up my bowl of Steak, no rice, black beans, cheese, corn, tomato, guac, and sour cream. Not only was I missing tomato, cheese, and guac but the portion was terrible. I called the restaurant which i never do but i had spent $14 on food. They remade it for me and I went to go get it and it looked much better but they did add rice. read more

I love chipotle and the food is very good, but the last two times I have been, I have had trouble with the chips. On the 21, I ordered ahead already paying for my chips and never received them. I decided to just let it go even though I never got any money back nor did they apologize, but I went again today and scanned to get a bag of chips but then was told they didn't have any. This location is usually out of a lot of food which is understandable as it is a really popular place, but I would suggest taking things off the menu online if it is out of order so we are not paying for things we do not receive! placed an order through instacart about an hour and a half before they closed. go to pick it up about 15 minutes later and they had the doors locked and people packing up. nowhere on the doors did they say their hours had changed or that they had to close early for the night. everywhere I looked to place an order through apps or online still let me, despite their doors being locked. contacted instacart customer service who then contacted the chipotle, to which instacart said it seemed like they picked up the phone and immediately hung up. they gave me a refund thankfully. so just letting yall know you probably shouldn't order online if it's past 9pm. feels wrong giving them a one star review considering I couldn't even get in the building during business hours read more

I am a huge chipotle fan! I probably go at least once a week back home. I'm in Athens for work and stopped in this chipotle and order my usual-burrito bowl with chips and guac on the side. When I dug into my guac I noticed two very large hard pieces of avocado and some skin from an avocado. I tried to work around it, but my fork couldn't even pierce it. I went up to the register and asked for another guacamole and explained the situation. The workers didn't seem too interested in the problem and said, "you'll need to throw that out, we can't take food back" when I was a showing them the issue. I walked back to my seat and go to scoop my new guacamole and again, there is a huge, inedible piece of avocado. I didn't bother to return this one. I hoping this was just a bad batch of guacamole. TERRIBLE customer service. Manager was rude and unapologetic. Very dismissive, did not even try being helpful. The whole situation was comical. I received two separate confirmations, one through the website and one through my email. However, the location said they did not receive my order. I was told they could not complete my order or get a refund. I was told to "take it up with corporate." I did end up calling corporate and receiving my refund but the lack of customer service and understanding was enough to ensure I don't visit this location again. As an employee of Ohio University, I truly hope prospective students and families don't experience the same rudeness and lack of consideration when visiting. I'm a broke college kid, the only thing that keeps me going is good food; can't get it here! First things first... I LOVEEEEE Chipotle!!! It's my favorite food chain. That said, this Athens location has been pretty decent over the past 4 years. The food and flavor is pretty consistent and I'm almost never disappointed. The line can be almost to the door (especially on the weekend) so be prepared to WAIT. Sometimes the staff moves a little slowly, but it depends on who's working. Somehow no one has been able to replicate the chips and trust me, I've searched. My only gripe is that sometimes the workers skimp on the meat as if it's coming out of their paycheck. Like, give me a nice hearty scoop please!!! read more

I have been to many Chipotle restaurants and love the food when it's fresh and service is good but this has to be the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. Food is never fresh, guac is brown and chips are rubbery and not crunchy have to be days old every time. This review is for the ATHENS, OH Chipotle only: I dined in about two months ago, while I was in town for a shoot. I had never been inside a Chipotle before this. The decor, while minimalist, was nice and clean. The three employees were extremely helpful and friendly, chatting with me as we got my order together. Chicken soft tacos to die for! The salsa was divine! I put it on par with the sit down Mexican restaurants I've been to, not 'fast food'. Then, to top it off... As we were checking me out, the wonderful employee comped my meal! He wanted to insure my first time at Chipotle was memorable.... It was. I have eaten at several other Chipotle in my area and none have compared to the atmosphere or quality of food. I have had the worst experience at this Chipotle especially with the young woman with redish/pink hair. This particular experience was during a dinner rush. The entire staff was seemingly on edge, however this girl was just rude. She told he coworker that the people around the register needed to "back the (explicit) up." She then went on to tell the people waiting that "crowding the register will not make your food come faster." They were simply waiting for a side tortilla. i work at a chipotle restaurant and this one is the worst i've ever been to!!!! they lied about being out of queso, the chicken is undercooked and in bigger than normal chunks, the rice is hard, they did not follow portions whatsoever, (barely anything in my bowl) and they didn't even make my quesadilla correctly. the tortilla was so soggy and not crispy like it should be. i threw my quesadilla outside to the birds so it wouldn't go to waste completely. the only good things were the pre-packaged foods!!!! never going to this chipotle again! pissed. read more

Stopped in Athens, OH, for lunch while on a family trip. The service was horrible, I am quite disappointed with Chipotle for accepting such unprofessional employees. They overcharged my order, ringing me up for the wrong items, and instead of correcting it on my credit card, they provided cash from the drawer. I left with my to go order to have the family eat outside by the car before embarking on our trip again (Covid19 meant chipotle was only allowing pickup/to go) and had to return twice because they did not provide utensils for our bowls or any napkins. They were abrupt and rude to me while ordering and to my 9 year old, where my 9 year old asked if we could not return there ever again, to which we readily agreed. Terrible service. read more

I'm a regular at Chipotle restaurants all over southern Ohio. Though the food is consistent (and delicious) across all of the different locations, the service most definitely is not. It is understandable that this location is busy due to its popularity on campus amongst college students, but I've had too many negative experiences here to justify it with their foot traffic. My online order experience has been horrific. I have attempted to use it to save time in between classes and work lunch breaks, but every time I show up, usually 5 minutes later than when I asked for it to be ready, they don't even have it started yet. On top of that, I've stood in front of the register waiting to even be addressed for 5-10 minutes before being able to say I had an online order that they then have to spend an additional 5 minutes preparing. What makes this all worse is that when I have arrived and my order was ready, it has always been wrong or missing something. The staff seems extremely short-handed and disoriented. They are always hurling things into bags and asking questions quicker than you even have time to think of an answer. It truly feels like you are being pushed right out the door as quickly as you walked in through it.. It is a very impersonal and awkward experience. One of my least favorite things about this location is that a few staff members who have made my burrito have made them so full they've burst open. They didn't offer to double wrap and many times I do not see it happen, so I am left with a burrito that is broken and must be eaten in a bowl with a fork. If I wanted a bowl, I would have ordered a bowl! I've been to other Chipotle locations at peak dinner times in places like Chillicothe and Columbus, and they have all been very friendly, efficient, and never late on my orders.
