I have eaten here 2 days in a row (yesterday and today), and I have to say, this place is doing it right! The food here is excellent. Now to be fair, this is Chipotle, so of course the food is going to be good....but this location seems to taste just a little bit better than other locations that I have frequented. Showed up at 9pm to order food and sat at the counter for waiting as the employees were screwing around talking to their friends. This isn't the first time it's happened. This store always has problems. Half the time they run out of items and end up giving half of what you order without telling you if you order online or end up screwing up the order. You have to go in person to order otherwise they screw you over. To be honest just avoid this store as the only good chipotle in town is the one up north by ACU. read more

The serving sizes were child sized when asking for double portions on meat beans rice or guacamole had to ask for bigger portions just because I was getting bare minimum, have not had an issue with this at other locations, the rice was stale like it had been sitting out for a long time. Am I the last person in Texas to go to Chipotle? Mike and I have never been to Chipotle and decided to give it a try. The line was long, so the guy in front of us told us how it worked. Huge appetite, get a bowl. Medium appetite, get a burrito. Just normal hungry, get the tacos. I went with chicken tacos, and started the assembly line. Rice on a taco? What? Beans on a taco? Now your kidding with me. Nope. I tried the cilantro rice, but not the beans. The chicken was nice and moist. Great pico de gallo. Throw on the sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and the medium hot sauce. Mike tried the steak tacos and added queso along with the veggies. Three in an order, and they were big. Absolutely delicious! And I liked the rice! It actually added to the taste of the taco. Because of my stomach operation, I could only eat one, but I watched Mike chow down all 3 of his in nothing flat! I had a BOGO free coupon, so we had a great meal for half price! Y'all. What a horrible time at chipotle. Did my first online order. Highly do not recommend. Finished putting my order online, the payment part didn't work so I chose to pay when pick up. Estimate time for pick was 20 minutes which was surprisingly quick because we did an office order 5 plus people. But hey who am I to argue with the machine. So I get to restaurant, sign on the door says digital orders only. I'm think yay, it'll be quick. Absolutely not!! The people working there are super quite, doesn't even say hello as I'm standing right in front of him. So I asked him when my order was going to be ready.. there were several in front of me. Which is cool but don't tell me to be there 40 minutes early for an online pick up. So I finally get my order, the guy hands me the bags and says thank you. I told him I needed to pay.. I mean I could've just walked out. So I pay and check the order, I was missing a bag of chips. So I informed the lady, she rolls her eye and makes a noise with her mouth of "annoyance." I was instantly annoyed. I didn't say anything to her but just thought really.. I'm paying for food..I want my full order. Couple things, use the normal line prep food to make orders, if you go digitally the use the space to make order go quick. Second, the manager was actually nice and helpful. Why I gave it a 1 star bathrooms were semi messy. When I asked for steak I got a half scoop so I ask for a second scoop a chicken hoping for buddy to be generous nope again half scoop of chicken.food was cold. if It wasn't for my company providing me with food I would of walked out and left the whole bowl there on the counter. Burritos came out hot and fast. The meat looked dry but definitely wasn't, and the veggies had a nice crunch to them. We even got fresh rice and fajita veggies right off the grill so we timed that perfectly. Really the main reason I'm writing this is to call out the guy who started off serving us and explained what was going on. He had a great personality, super friendly, funny, and he knew his stuff. To preface, I love Chipotle in literally any other location other than the one here in Abilene. But the one at this location NEVER has any of the food you want. I come there wanting chicken - they're out that day. I come again wanting steak - out as well. Texas is the largest producer of steak in the US, yet they don't seem to know how to acquire a butchered cow. On top of the protein options they're constantly out of, they never seem to have the salsas, rice, queso, even lettuce. I WILL say the customer service is typically good, but mostly because they're constantly apologizing for all the stuff they're out of. I ordered online because every time I go into the restaurant the card terminal cannot read my card. This is the only place it does not work. It works at every other business in Abilene, Texas, and even out of state. But for some reason it does not work at this store. So I tried to place an order on the website since the mobile app crashes every time I sign in. I ordered a burrito bowl with NO rice and the bowl had rice and no black beans. Some how the order was misread and rice was added and no black beans were added to the order. Not everyone is perfect, but I would have liked to call the restaurant and see if I could have gotten my money back and returned my food, but if you call the restaurant it is just an automated system that is not very helpful at all. This is very frustrating because I have to find a different way to order from chipotle than just being able to walk in or use the mobile app. I think the only solution is to just take my business elsewhere. So the link they replied with to "resolve" this issue only offered a free small drink. Kind of laughable considering there's been multiple issues with trying to order food from this location, not to mention the order that was messed up today was almost $15. It would have been nice if this location could have just written my name down on a registry and just given me my CORRECT order at a different time. Ordered online for pick up at 1:30pm. Parked at 1:20pm when I received a notification that my order was ready at the pick up shelves. The Chipotle app said it was still being prepared. Walked inside and checked the shelves my order wasn't there waited till 1:30pm my order still wasn't ready. Decided to ask the order maker and was told someone must have taken it then returned back to making orders. Stood there not knowing what to do next when I decided to ask another cashier about what has happened when the order maker said " I'm making it now". I had issues with chipotle the last time I got it delivered (barely any meat in my bowl) so I figured I go there this time. I'm not sure if management trains the employees to remove the membrane from the meat or not but it needs to be done. I just ordered the barbacoa bowl and the majority of my meat was membrane (disgusting). To make matters worse, I ordered chips and salsa and did not get it. Look we've all been to a chipotle and it's great, even this one is great in the unlikely circumstance they have it together when you visit ! :) I go often, and not at random times or when it's super close to open/close time. I get covid and everything going on.. but come on. Each time I go now, which is a few times each month, there is always something missing - not something random like corn or hot sauce. I mean they're missing steak, chicken, rice, beans, cheese, guac like the main stuff.. and it's not just 1 of these is missing it's usually at least 3 things missing. Oh and chips are a 50/50. Now let's say you catch 'em on a lucky day and they do have everything available, the entire assembly line workspace where they prepare everything is completely trashed. And the tubs of ingredients have like 4 things in each one because it's all sloshing around I guess. I don't really care but like.. really? The reason they don't tell you they're missing ingredients with a sign or when you walk in is because they want you to wait in line so by the time you're told they're missing stuff you're already committed and they get to take your money for food you don't even want. I'm going to start with I placed an order online and when my daughter went to pick it up, it was missing the chips she ordered. When she asked about them the employee was very rude and snippy and just said oh yeah we're out of them and turned around and walked off leaving her standing there. She is not a confrontational person so when she got home and told me, it's horrendous trying to reach anyone to talk to. You call to talk to someone and they want you to chat with a bot to fix your issues and instead of being able to tell the manager they have a crappy employee and that you just want a refund because you had to go somewhere else to buy the chips you already paid for the dumb bot just wants to put in your rewards for a free chips but then warns you that it will expire if you don't use it in time. Dumbest thing ever- my suggestion just go somewhere else with better service and that actually has food!!! read more
