Obviously, we weren't very happy already. The cashier was dry and not very welcoming, off to an already terrible experience. We were willing to wait and were excited for a yummy cookie, despite being upset. However, when it came out IT WAS HALF COOKED. We waited for cookie dough that was lukewarm. It literally melted in the bag because it was so undercooked. We had to go home and cook our own cookies in the oven. It's disappointing to receive such minimal effort in costumer satisfaction. Now this might seem like common sense to those of you who are fans of Chip Cookie Co., but to rookie it was surprising to find an entire store dedicated to a single cookie. Personally, I'm a semi sweet fan. I believe it is a good balance of flavor, especially here, where these cookies are very dense, very large and the semi sweet helps to balance that out. Service: we were promptly greeted. they took our order and within moments we had a box of four chocolate chip cookies. Nothing special, but nothing bad either, just prompt friendly service. That's all I'm really looking for anyhow. Atmosphere: this is an old building that has been renovated for this unique cookie operation. It is all open you can see where they bake the cookies, where they mix the cookies, and where they form the cookie dough balls. I was pleased with what I saw. It appears clean, and the workers appear to be wearing appropriate gloves, etc. there is no where to sit, it's a grab your order and go kind of operation. Chip Cookies is a cute family or a mini date place for desert. They serve very large fluffy chocolate chip cookies with several options of quantities. The cookies come warm fresh. The chocolate chips will melt in your mouth and is an absolute must die cookie lovers. This place is unique as they are open until 2am (yay for late night cravings). They make the cookies fresh and he dough is made right in front of you. Outside there are a few tables you can sit at with your date or family to talk and enjoy a cold glass of milk with your cookie. This is such a good idea that I'm extra upset that I didn't like it. They're smart to get in on the Provo late-night market, and their menu (seriously, only chocolate chip cookies and milk - nothing else) is genius in its simplicity. The cookies are very large and thick and served warm, and they allegedly deliver (haven't tried it, since I don't live in Provo). Two major things, however, were big minuses for me. First, their selling model. You can't buy one cookie, you can only buy them in a box of four, and that'll run you $10 without the milk. For someone flying solo or even with just one other person, it's both too much food and too much money. They just end up going on the counter in a ziploc to be eaten over the course of a couple days and they exponentially lose their charm that way. I know it's the niche, hipster thing to buy overpriced baked goods (see every cupcake and crepe place in Utah County) but sell them individually, dang. Works great, I guess, for BYU sophomores who travel in packs, so maybe that's the target demographic. My second complaint is more personal - I honestly just didn't like the taste of the cookies. I'm a big chocolate chip cookie fan, but there's some ingredient they use in these that's off-putting and I can't figure out what it is. They're also just slightly too much on the doughy/bready side and while I'm all for the gooeyness, they just need to be a little thinner with a tad more crisp and a minute or two in the oven to alleviate the "raw in the middle" that so many reviewers accurately noticed. That's just my personal preference, but it means that when combined with the exorbitant price, I don't really plan to return. read more

Was it worth the drive from Sandy? Did it live up to the hype? Three words; It was aight. It was about 11pm on a week night when my sister, girl cousins and I decided to make the 20-30 minute drive to Provo from Sandy on a whim to try Chips. I've never heard of Chips but I'm not from Utah. We parked on the side of the building near the tracks and walked the poor lit sidewalk. I could barely see their sign but it's there. You walk directly into like a waiting area with some seating along the wall. At the hallway an employee is standing with a note pad ready to take orders (by the box which contains (4) cookies). Unfortunately, they only make chocolate chip cookies and in good sized portions. Downside to the huge portions is the consistency of the dough will vary. My cookies were raw in the middle but the other cookies my group got were cooked. The batch I got could have definitely stayed in the oven a bit longer. The pros are (1) the cookies are hot and fresh, (2) the orders come with milk, and (3) Chips is open until 2am. Chips definitely has that childhood aroma I would savor growing up. However, it didn't live up to my expectations. Though the dough was good, my cookies were undercooked. The first time that I tried these cookies, I was pretty impressed. The cookies were a few days old, but they held up pretty well and they weren't stale. I LOVE how Chip adds extra chocolate chips to their massive, perfectly underdone cookies. The edges were crisp but the middle was puffy, gooey, and soft. I couldn't finish it on my own - these treats were made for sharing. But my mind was blown the second time I had Chip! Me and my family went to the storefront and ordered a box for all of us to share. They are THE BEST warm (obviously). I had to force myself to not take a piece off of everyone else's cookie. They are that addicting. So if you are a fan of warm chocolaty goodness - this is the place for you! When we drove there, parking was a little confusing but they have a back lot that you can use. The store has a minimalist style - no decorations, advertisements, or fancy decor. It's straight up just a counter and a few workers making cookie dough behind it. There was one young woman sitting in the lobby waiting for something, so we weren't sure what to do, but another young woman quickly walked out into the lobby asking how many boxes we wanted. They sell cookies by the box here, and there are four cookies and milk that come with it. So, we bought one box (my wife managed to talk me down from the 5 boxes I wanted). So, first off, it's $10 for four enormous cookies that comes with a quart of good ol' Meadow Gold Dairy Pure 2% milk. I actually loved that. It was an awesome touch on some already delicious cookies. The cookies are exactly what I hoped for, slightly underbaked, hot out of the oven, and with way too many chocolate chips. I mean, there's not much more to say, is there? They're chocolate chip cookies, which at worse are good, and at best are like the cookies from Chip Cookies. 10/10 I will for sure be a regular here. read more

I had the pleasure of stopping by the store after seeing these cookies take the interwebs by storm. I have seen a ridiculous amount of snaps, instagrams and boomerangs of these. That being said...I had really high expectations: These were HUGE cookies. I got 4 cookies and I think it was like $8?? The cookies were a little bit like a cake and a cookie that had a baby. They were very soft but also more dense then a traditional chocolate chip cookie. I could only eat one before I was totally stuffed and I can normally eat a whole pan...woops. Chip is about the best thing to hit Provo since delivered sushi.. because what's better than hot, GIANT cookies delivered to your door at 11pm at night... nothing. The only thing that would make this better is if Matthew McConaughey personally showed up to my door with the cookies. As stated in previous reviews, the cookies are HUGE (almost 6 ounces each) and are Levain bakery style. They taste delicious and have a good chip-to-dough ratio of chocolate chips. This is a great indulgence to have when you're tired and in your PJ's but craving something sweet for your midnight snack. Bless you, Chip, for saving us in sugar woes. I have to say Chip has really disappointed me. I initially loved the novelty of huge, warm and soft cookies you crave being available for delivery at any time. Their new flavor each month indulged its loyal customers, including myself. Their social media posts created a buzz and marketed their products extremely well. But as successful as Chip has become, they have nothing to show for it. Chip hasn't evolved or grown at all. Their business model still forces its customers to purchase four enormous cookies, a $10 box, instead of opting to individually sell them. They refuse to offer multiple flavors of cookies to their customers. Nope, it's still the same tiresome milk chocolate chip and a whopping one additional flavor that changes once a month. Their "store" on 500 N provides its customers parking in a small, gravel alley to side of the entrance with no room to turn your car around. You would think that once the company would become successful enough to upgrade to a better location, larger storefront and an actual parking lot, they would. Not here. Oh and truth be told, their cookies aren't that great. You could give your car an oil change with the amount of grease they use. After a few bites, you feel like laying down and doing nothing for 4 hours. I'm now a loyal customer at Crumbl, which has better cookies, offers its customers a variety of 5-6 flavors (3-4 new flavors that change on a *weekly not monthly* basis and 2 always consistent flavors), actual stores with parking lots and chairs and tables to sit, and wouldn't you know it- expansion and growth. They now have 16 locations, some outside of Utah. They now offer shipments to anywhere in the US and yes, you can purchase cookies individually if you so choose. Believe it or not, people don't always feel like eating four gigantic cookies in one sitting. Time to step it up Chip. You've been stagnant, have ignored what your customers want, your business model isn't cute anymore, and it's going to start hurting you. read more

Eh. It's a cookie. For me personally it was way too greasy. I sat a cookie on my pants while I was eating it because let's face it, they're huge and so sweet that the average person can't eat more than maybe two bites at a time. The cookie left a round grease stain on my pants :( Because of how sweet they are, and how oily they are, after you eat a couple bites you feel lethargic. When I first came to Provo, the one thing I was told to try by the most people was Chip Cookies. I was out with some friends on a Friday night so we chose to go into the shop rather than to pay for delivery. Parking there was not good. I understand that the main focus of Chip is delivery, however you'd think that there would be more parking available. Upon entering the shop, I was immediately put off by the appearance, however the smells that filled my nostrils convinced me otherwise. The cost for one box of cookies (4 that are large in size) was $10, which is a bit high but fair in my opinion. We got 2 of the classic chocolate chip, and 2 of the cookie of the month. The chocolate chip were absolutely delicious. 10/10 would recommend. The cookie of the month was a Malteser cookie and to be honest it just tasted like a chocolate cookie. Still good though. Maybe even 1 and 1/2 stars... I've ordered from the Provo location twice in the last week. The first time delivery was well over an hour and a half which I thought was excessive, but the cookies showed up and were pretty good so I thought to myself 'self, let give these guys another chance'. This time delivery took over 2 hours, and to add insult to hungry injury most of the cookies were overcooked and hard. I'm sad...I really really want to like this place because I think the other big cookie place in town has kinda jumped the shark, but I simple can't recommend it. I enjoy Chip if I go in the store, but the delivery is slow and I've had cookies that were neither warm nor soft delivered to my home on a few occasions by Chip. I have also felt like the delivery workers were just rushing to the next task and didn't seem as friendly and happy as the drivers at Crumbl. I was the biggest Chip fan when they were still a hidden gem, but now they seem to have really lost their happy, upbeat charm they had a year ago. Wanted a pick-me-up after a long day at the office, and what could be better than a oven-fresh chocolate-chip cookie and a glass of milk? Ordering process was a little stressful. Filling out their online form was a bit awkward on my smartphone. I also wasn't sure if they deliver direct to hotel rooms. I'm a tech guy, I like being able to order online, but in this case I would have preferred to make a phone call -- talking to a human would have given me more certainty that my cookies were on their way to the right place. Placed my order, watched some TV. I got a text message when the driver departed, complete with a link to a live cookie-tracking map, which was a nice touch. Got another text when the driver arrived, and a couple minutes later heard the knock on my door -- yes, they do deliver to hotel rooms! Everything paid ahead of time (including tip), so no fussing with payment at the door -- just accepting the delicious cookies. And these cookies were huge! Warm and gooey as promised. I added milk to my order, and the milk was huge as well, I think an entire quart? Much more than I could finish in a single sitting. But I'm not complaining! I laid in bed, nibbling away and revelling in the abundance. Very satisfied overall, would definitely order again! There are better chocolate chip cookies places in Provo. There's only one option, 4 for $10 box. This is a really casual order and go cookie place. Not bad cookies, and for a large family that isn't picky these are pretty good. They are more chewy and soft all around and really buttery. So if that sounds good, GO FOR IT. I felt like I should have, but I read another reviewer say that her driver refused a tip. Anyway, I was most appreciative of his professional and kindly manner. Waiting 2 hours is ridiculous. I'm not one to make comparisons, but this has one has to be made. The goal: get me 4 fresh cookies in 60 minutes or less. I don't need them in 30 minutes or even 45. I'm not going to pretend I know how to run a delivery business, but there are plenty of them out there and I have never waited more than an hour for food. Granted, I believe this is because they have such large cookies. Cookies like that would take quite a long time to cook. But that excuse is assuming they are made to order. If they are made to order then...well...that's dumb. There are other ways to keep baked goods fresh and warm. Why not make smaller cookies? I'd gladly take 8 smaller cookies. They'll taste the same too. Having huge cookies is fun, but if that means having to wait 2 hours for them...no thankyou. Bottomline is that Chip has the best cookies ever. Extremely disappointed. I ordered 300 cookies for an event and was told they would be ready for pick up at 4:00 pm for my 6:00 pm event. I had an email confirmation stating so. Went to pick them up and they denied that it was 4:00 and said they wouldn't be ready until 5:30. Come back to pick up and they said "time got away from us, sorry, they aren't ready." We had an event starting at 6 pm and they knew that and made the order zero priority. They made no effort to make it right even when I gave them ample opportunities trying to follow up with the person I was in communication with and communicating with the people working that night. I followed up twice the next week and nothing. That is a BIG order to just "forget about" and then do nothing to make it right. I was super excited to try the Tru Fru raspberry cookies. They look amazing in their advertisements! But my husband and I were a little underwhelmed. There was one raspberry in all the cookies we bought so the raspberry flavor wasn't really apparent. It tasted more like a white chocolate chip cookie than raspberry. The chocolate chip cookie is really yummy! Big and decadent. We also tried the Scout cookie, which has caramel, coconut, and chocolate drizzle. Those were pretty tasty, but we both prefer Crumbl cookies to these. I think we'll be sticking with Crumbl. The store front is on the west side of the building and parking is on the south side.
