Having moved from Georgetown, this tea shop is now in a corner in an otherwise residential area that offers sunlight, bricks, and a bit of greenery. It's much more of an experience than it used to be. They only have tea, no food, but you can choose between either just getting a tea to go or having the whole experience. I received a tea set and some guidance, and turned my devices off to have a bit of a zen experience slowly pouring my tea through different containers until it started to turn bitter. There are many tea choices. There is also the opportunity to browse through a wide range of high-end tea and related products. While the neighborhood is new, they seem to have plenty of regulars. It was not busy for sitting in the shop when I dropped in, but I've seen it get that way.

First time here and I enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and explains to you how to drink and enjoy the tea flavor that you chose to its best. There is a good amount of tea selection. Very nice seats but very few. It is nicely decorated inside. There is also a lot of goods to buy such as tea seats. A great place to go to relax or read a book.

at $20 per person, its a bit of a hefty price tag but i still love this place -- basically unlimited rounds of tea with a yummy selection (including herbal options; the eight treasure tea was delish), unique plating, and an overall quiet atmosphere.

This place is nice and quiet and nicely decorated. The service was good and the teas were good as well.

It's such a GEM!!! The owner is super sweet and friendly!!! Sadly they are no longer serving food, since their new location does not have a kitchen. They will be bringing in house tea drinking back once they get the documents approved!!! I cannot wait to come back when I'm back in D.C!!! Such a quiet and welcoming place to enjoy a nice cup of tea!!! I'd come here by myself or even a date!!!

So glad I decided to visit on a whim when I was exploring the neighborhood during the EU open houses in May. It is a quaint space with not that much room but an intimate feel. Great for dates and gathering with close friends. The owner helped me decide on a lighter Taiwanese Alishan Oolong. She also taught me the technique to set up and pour correctly. You are provided with a refillable kettle of water so you can re-steep the tea as many times as you like. To top it off they sell tons of cute tea accessories and I bought a sample size of the same oolong I tried that day for a friend and hojicha powder as a gift.

This tea shop was so peaceful and gorgeous inside, and the staff were so kind and attentive! My friend and I wandered in on a hot day and spent a good 2 hours drinking tea, relaxing, and chatting. They also sell tea accessories, tea, and little trinkets. They currently don't have a kitchen so there's no food (they're still trying to orient in the new space after spending 25 years at the old location), but the tea selection is expansive. Most of the teas also come with a tea ceremony and the staff show you how to do it.

They opened a new location in Dupont! I missed out on their Georgetown location (which is now closed). But I'm so happy to visit their new location. The space is very beautiful, but on the smaller side (so you might have to wait for bigger parties!). It is $20 per person for any of the teas on the menu. You get unlimited hot water so you can keep steeping. We were there for over an hour and the tea kept getting better and better (I steeped it over 3+ times) It felt so wasteful to leave my tea, I wonder if they allow you to take home your blend to continue enjoying at home? The ladies there were lovely and seemed like they create relationships with their customers. This is the kind of business I will always support! Now I want to learn more about Chinese teas and learning to steep with different blends. Lovely spot! And very accessible in Dupont! PS, if you choose to sit on the platform where you take off your shoes, it might be uncomfortable if your leg falls asleep. So wear loose comfy clothes!

Absolutely the best tea house in the DMV to get actual tea and tea accessories. The owner, ching ching, is one of the sweetest business owners you will ever meet. She genuinely cares about her product and your experience. My wife and I love this place so much, we even had our wedding here! It was perfect.

Fantastic vibes and very good tea. Ching Ching offers up a super cozy and welcoming environment to tea enthusiasts and tea newbies alike. I highly recommend. She stocks a nice selection of teas. This is a must visit in DC! Come earlier in the day if you can, you'll be more likely to get a table quickly.

My mom…read morehad heard about this place so we made a reservation for 4:15 pm, which is proper English tea time. The space is beautiful and tranquil. We were given a comfortable corner table with a view of the well-appointed room and the river beyond. The menu offers something for every appetite. We ordered the cream tea and the savory tea to share. This gave us classic and delicious scones -- proper English ones; not those triangular abominations that so many American establishments offer -- with Devonshire cream, strawberry preserves and lemon curd. Croissants were also an available option. The savory tea offered a choice of classic sandwiches which were all wonderful, but I particularly loved the chicken salad. Of course we each were given a pot of tea with a vast assortment to choose from. Earl Gray has long been my favorite, but somehow Lady Camellia's offers the best I've ever tasted on either side of the Atlantic. All of this was perfect enough, yet it was served to us by the loveliest woman who seemed to take genuine pleasure in our enjoyment of the whole experience. We can't wait to go back. One note: Lady Camellia's address is on the Strand, but if a member of your party has mobility issues, you'll want to avoid this route as steps block your way. Instead, approach from S. Union Street for a flat walk.

The sandwiches (we got cucumber, chicken salad, and egg salad) were just ok, but scones were suprisingly delicious! They were warm and buttery, and not too dry. The chocolate croissant was boring and stale, and the pistachio macaron's texture was good but tasted a bit artificial. The passionfruit panna cotta was so good - creamy and perfectly tart. It was my favorite from the list. I also really enjoyed their teas - my cousin got the masala chai and I got the apricot oolong. Both were super delicious, and I would definitely choose the masala chai again. The flavor and spices were perfect. The service was decent and they were pretty quick to bring out the tea and snacks. Overall, I recommend Lady Camellia for a more budget-friendly option for afternoon tea.

It's so close to the White House and the Washington monument so we were able to take in some sights while we were here. The cherry trees were in bloom and this balmy spring day was gorgeous! Parking was a breeze despite our reservations that we'd have trouble parking, but no, we were right out front! This tearoom is truly set up like an alley... a long hall with tables on either side, beautifully elegant and meticulously appointed from the beautiful chandelier light fixtures to the patterned carpet to the brocade bluish green wallpaper and the along the stairs some peacock wallpaper! We ooohed and aaahed with every step! The cherry branches stood tall in the Asian inspired planters along the tables and vases with tulips graced each table setting. As we entered we were offered a cranberry cocktail (or mocktail) drink with fresh rosemary and presented with an amuse-bouche which was quite amusing. Along with the other tiered items were the delectable scones with lemon curd, clotted cream, and jams, several savories including a cucumber finger sandwich, and open faced roast beef toast, and a chicken salad roll (also a salmon tart which I didn't care for). There were also tea cookies, a scrumptious meringue puff, and a chocolate truffle. All exquisite. The tea menu was extensive and I chose the Willard Signature Blend with rose petals, bergamot, and orange peel and we also had the Darjeeling. As we sipped and stirred and nibbled and chatted, our cares melted away as we savored each morsel. At the end of our meal, we were delighted with champagne to top off the afternoon! The tea service was brilliant with gold edged plates and teacups, a silver tea strainer, & bright white teapots. The harpist played gently in the background as we enjoyed our marvelous tea time ... and the service was impeccable! Worth every pretty penny! The hotel was so grand and we took a little tour after we finished our tea! A memorable event which made an everlasting impression!

The white glove service, super crisp clean and whimsical ambiance, mixed with an array of interesting treats made for an incredible experience. Starting with the hand towel (so cool!) you begin feeling relaxed and refreshed. I chose to start off with the Gen Maicha, which had a delightful popcorn taste I couldn't get enough of! For my cocktail, I chose a simple bubby rose', but my friends said their cherry blossom flavored tea inspired cocktail was amazing. As you can see, they did not cut any corners with the high tea treats, which ranged from savory to sweet. The peppery pink spread for the scone was one of my favorites. The playfulness of the colors, perfection of the shapes, and subtle but perfect flavors all engaged the senses. I cannot wait to return. For the price point, this high tea was incredible. I don't recommend ordering any type of waffles, it came out cold and even though they replaced it, it just got cold and hard quick, it was not good. I really enjoyed their tea! Felt bougie for the day and burned a hole in my wallet but it was well worth the experience. Definitely need to try at least once.
