For Naples, finding decent Chinese food can feel like searching for an oasis in the desert, which is why Chinatown remains one of the better options in town. The menu leans Cantonese, and the more traditional dishes are generally the strongest. While the kitchen still caters somewhat to Western tastes, diners willing to venture beyond the standard takeout favorites will find several authentic offerings worth trying. If you're looking for a whole steamed fish or other specialty dishes, be sure to call ahead, as not everything is available on short notice. The service is friendly and attentive, and the staff has always been welcoming. Is it exactly like dining in Hong Kong or Guangzhou? Not quite. But for Southwest Florida, it's a solid choice when you're craving authentic Cantonese flavors and a break from the usual Americanized Chinese fare. Rating: 4/5 A reliable spot for traditional Cantonese dishes in a town where good Chinese food can be hard to find. read more

This location is behind a gas station in a group of businesses. We were greeted quickly and seated by the owners. I ordered the Pepper Steak with brown sauce. It was served within 5-7 minutes with white rice and an extra bowl of sauce. It was the best Pepper Steak I've eaten in more than 20 years. It was so flavorful, a hint on garlic and a bit of sweetness along with savory. The onions were just beginning to carmelize, the peppers were still crisp but starting to soften. The beef was tender and not chewy. Everything was hot and they continued to check on us to make sure we were happy with our meal. I can't say enough about a great experience and perfect food! read more

The food service and employees first off are amazing. The only thing I wish they would do is cut the ingredients in the egg roll to a smaller size so it's not that long and stringy. read more

Nice restaurant. Many different table sizes and booths. Can be intimate or handle a large group. Super friendly family owned. Excellent service. Food reminds me of Chinatown in Philly or NYC. Big menu. Almost anything you could want. Nice noodle strips on table. Classically good duck sauce with them. Had the hot and sour soup. Classic. Nice amount of hot chili pepper. Fried wontons were crisp and light and the sweet and sour sauce was also classic - fruity with just a hint of citrus and sour. Can get duck multiple ways. I had a half. Hunan. Excellent and a nice portion for one. Obviously hung and basted and perfectly prepared. Tea was very good. Friendly, fair prices, excellent food. Loved it! read more

Not even a month after our initial visit, and my assessment drops. Today's meal: 3.2 stars. Here's why: We duplicated part of our last order, because it was sooooo good. Today, not so much. House special wonton soup was short on ingredients, plus the broth was almost tasteless. And the moo goo gai pan? A big no. I suspect the chicken was previously frozen, and had what appeared to be freezer burn. The sauce, subtly delicious last time, was virtually flavorless today. Mapo tofu saved the day. Not readily available in FL, I was happy to spot it on the menu. The sauce was spicy with plenty of minced pork. Chinatown does it right. (At least, today.) I asked our waitress if there's a different chef in the kitchen. She said 'no,' but I have to believe there is. Either that, or a scarcity of provisions on a holiday weekend. read more

I read a lot of positive reviews for Chinatown restaurant and was curious to see how good the food was. We stopped by for lunch and the first thing that you notice is the classic Chinese restaurant decor. They even have the horoscope placemats, which deserve a place in every Chinese restaurant. The waitress who took our order was very attentive and we had drinks and a bowl of crispy wanton strips with duck sauce before we knew it. The menu had lots of dishes. I went for the Hunan chicken, hubs ordered the Sesame chicken. The dishes came hot and flavorful and we both liked our order. After trying a bite of the Sesame chicken, it was good, although a little sweet. Sweet Sesame chicken may be an east coast favorite though, who knows. The meal was good and portions were large as expected. Leftovers are the one thing you should always be able to count on with Chinese food. They had several soups to choose from, we went with hot and sour. The soup was good and being able to order a lunch portion on the weekend was a bonus. The menu had all the standard favorites like Broccoli beef, General Tso's chicken and Sweet & Sour shrimp. House specials like the Coconut shrimp looked appealing, so maybe next time. This restaurant is definitely one to try when you're looking for good New York style Chinese food. read more

Chinatown Restaurant in Naples is a family run restaurant that offer many New York Chinatown style dishes. This generally means Cantonese dishes ranging from pan fried or stream flounder, beef with bitter melon, beef brisket with turnips to roast ducks, etc. Of course, they have Moo Goo Gai Pan and Kung Pao beef. This is our first visit to Chinatown Restaurant. It is located in a strip mall behind a gas station. There are several eateries like Katz New York Deli, Floridita Cuban Cafe, Pho 80 and Boba Bear Tea, and Bonjour Restaurant. You can easily miss this unless you have your GPS on! This is not a fancy or up scale restaurant but if you are looking for a casual place for NY style Chinese food, this is the place! We ordered beef brisket with turnips in a sizzling hot pot and a beef pan fried noodle. The beef brisket hot pot was tasty and savory. The beef pan friend noodle was very well prepared. We did not have any beer or wine or any appetizers. Two dishes were just appropriate for two! The staff is very friendly and make me feel like back in New York! Will be back for more authentic Chinese food. read more

Having read all the excellent reviews, I had to try Chinatown Restaurant. For starters, I ordered two egg rolls. They were overcooked and underfilled, somewhat on the skinny side. Mrs. K., who is an eggroll professional, made that statement. I chose General Tso's chicken for my main course, and Mrs. K. went for the beef. We complemented our dishes with fried and steamed rice, respectively. However, to our surprise, the customary broccoli needed to be added to our plates. I asked, and they said no broccoli. Fine, but I am used to having broccoli with General Tso's chicken. The servings were more than enough without the broccoli. It was not like the dish was shorted; it was just not complete. The establishment had a drying box for the duck. I may try the duck on the next visit. While it is a dive, it's not a dump. The service was excellent. Our ice teas were refilled almost immediately. The food came out hot and well within the acceptable time for fresh cooked food. read more

Great menu, great food fast friendly service I've driven by many times yet I wasn't in the area during lunch time or dinner time. I made this trip to try from a friends high recommendation of Bill and Sherl who order a few times a week. The restaurant is traditional styled with tables booths and small sitting area for carry out food and delivery. I've stopped in twice so far and have been happy with the food and service. 4/2024 Food 5 Ambiance 5 Service 5 prompt friendly. Location 5 tucked behind the gas station but plenty of parking weekday or weekend. 10 miles from home. Value 5 read more

We'd tried this place before. I did not review last time as it was not pleasant and I wanted to be fair and give them another shot since I read a bunch of reviews and it seems like there were Ny'ers who favored this place. So being from NYC as well, we were craving a bit of home. I grew up by Chinatown on the Lower East Side so I want them to be good as I miss the taste of home. Here goes. We came in for lunch, place was not busy so we were sat promptly and waitress was pleasant in serving. The wife knew exactly what she wanted. Wings and fried rice. She was craving this and I figured I would steal a wing. I was having the special but was torn between a few different dishes. The lo mein as I wanted to try, or the cashew chicken as I felt I needed to have them make it again since last time it was not so pleasant. The cashew chicken it was. Started with the hot and sour soup. It came out quick along with the fried noodles and duck sauce (best thing). Soup was a bit salty, but I enjoyed as I tend to favor saltier side of things. The entrees came out. The wings were still drenched in oil and still had feathers . Rice seemed like it was old rice. Fail so far. As for my dish, tasted like it was a generic sauce that can be used for pepper steak, beef and broccoli and the cashew chicken. The chicken was pretty much all thigh meat and full of tendon, and gummy. Worst part was it seemed like they just threw the chicken in the sauce and just opened a pack of cashews and just threw them on top. Now I know this review seems harsh, but look at the pics. You can see for yourself. I tried to give them a second shot, but as you can see if this is what folks rave about, thats their opinion. Ambiance is nice, music gives a nice touch, but the hanging ribs and duck in the warming case as you walk in would look better if there were not boxes all around the area. Didn't know if it was a storage place or roast meat display. All in all, can't give them more than a 2 in MY OPINION. So I'm here thinking when I read reviews and folks say it taste like New York Chinese food, I just have to shake my head and think they may must mean a place upstate like Wolcot New York, because it sure didn't taste Like New York City Chinese food..... (No offense to Wolcot NY) read more

Just ate at Chinatown in Naples, FL. On Pine Ridge. Normally, as we are from the Chicago area, we can never find a Chinese restaurant that measures up to what we have at home. Chinatown just surpassed this. My husband and I thought the flavor of our 2 beef dishes were outstanding. The meal comes with soup or egg roll. He absolutely loved his egg soup. I had wonton and it was good. We would definitely go back soon! read more

Ordered to be delivered and we couldn't believe how hot the food was when it arrived. The hot and sour soup was some of the best I've ever had, and my husband raved about his wonton soup. And let me tell you about the fried rice! It was loaded with chicken, pork and shrimp. We opted to add egg and we weren't glad we did. It reminded us of the traditional egg fried rice we were used to. I can confidently we will make this our go to for tasty Chinese food. read more

All Chinese foods are good to me just there are just good and some are very good and excellent. This place was just a good kind. TsingTao beer was good as always. Fried dumplings were frozen food I even don't buy in store kind and deep fried. I don't want to fill my stomach with this kind of food. Then my lunch was a hot and sour soup which was good, And then Sweet and Sour Pork, and this was just good but included fried rice wasn't. So total of my review of this lunch here today was 2 star. I will give another try at dinner time if I have chance again. read more

We Usually take out but tried sitting in lately and it was well worth the time and effort Ordered 2 different dishes of fish fillets one with vegetable and the other was Thai flavored Both excellent. Hot, fried perfectly with gravy in one with perfectly steamed baby bok choy. The Thai was spicy but also superb with some pork and onions added for flavor Both were covered with corn starch batter so gluten free but fried in the same oil as other gluten items so careful Service was excellent Food prepared quickly although they were busy The decor is typical Chinese with a family flair. This is a small business with a very large following as well deserved. They have plenty of specials and although they changed their prices last year, still a great buy for what you get Large portions and always leftovers to take home Easy location at the end of a strip mall behind the gas station on Pine Ridge. Bet you didn't know, does anyone remember many moons ago this was the old noodle's restaurant location? Either way come try it. Authentic NYC style, best in town and even in all of Florida read more

Really glad I tried this place, which was recommended by a friend. Finally, a Chinese restaurant in Naples with full-service dining! It seems like most other places only offer food to go, so having tables and chairs is a nice change. I enjoyed the complimentary wonton chips to munch on while looking over the menu... they were perfect and not too oily. I ordered Sesame Chicken from the lunch menu. The chicken was perfectly cooked and really crispy. A little too sweet, but that's ok. The steamed rice was a little undercooked for my taste, but I'll give it another chance on my next visit! Definitely recommend coming here! read more

This place just hit the spot. The food was very tasty and their menu offerings were just right. The location is def a hole in the wall but just observing the guests it is clear that many patrons have been dining here for years. My 12 year old daughter and I visited this place. Being new to the area we are weary of eating Chinese food anywhere but our local spots in Chicago. The menu has staples such as general tso, orange chicken, etc but the staff is very friendly and will make recommendations. Everything that we ate was delicious and the prices were extremely fair. This place is not fancy so if you're just looking for a casual place to enjoy good Chinese food this is the spot. read more

Stay away from here or the place will become too popular with the 'snowbird' crowd and lose its 'stick-to-the ribs' charm and price competitiveness; not to mention my ability to get a table on the weekend! I too come from a large metropolitan city in the Midwest where my fellow suburbians think P.F. Chang's is authentic, gourmet Chinese. And I want those tourists and wealthy retirees to maintain that delusion, so they don't get in my way of actual good Cantonese fare. So please don't spread the word about Chinatown Restaurant and instead help circulate the rumor that Panda Express is Elon Musk, Donald and Ivanka Trump's favorite (which is probably true knowing that McDonald's is popular with 'the Donald'). Trusting in the compassion and middle-class ethics of Yelp.com contributors and readers, I will share that this restaurant has a clean, casual, and basic dining room with excellent service. The menu is broad with classic Americanized Cantonese food (watch "The Search for General Tso" on Amazon Prime Video for a great documentary) that is served hot and flavorful. Portion sizes are generous and prices reasonable. I love that they serve complimentary hot Chinese black tea and large, crispy Chinese noodles with duck sauce too. So in summary, this is a really good place, just don't come here, okay?! read more

I'm from NYC and I know really good Chinese food!! I could not really find any great Chinese restaurants since I moved to Naples, but today I found a great restaurant, great food, good seafood selections and very good service!! The ambiance was one of NYC Chinatown restaurant! The hot and sour soup - it wasn't doused with tons of flaked red hot peppers like it is everywhere else in Naples! The whole steamed flounder was fantastic and for an extra dollar I had a big bowl of brown rice. I love this restaurant! I'm hooked and look forward to trying many different dishes in their menu! It's a find - go and Bon Appéti! read more

Pretty solid NY style Chinese food. The beef chow fun has soggy noodles and good size pieces of marinated beef. Beef fried rice had a lot of soy sauce and a bit oily with not a lot of meat. The seafood deluxe is quite impressive with decent side shrimp and scallops. It's fast, prices are really reasonable relative to surrounding naples options. Easy no frills quick dinner option. read more

Not great, unfortunately. First time coming here with my client because everyone raves about it. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with fried rice and a wonton soup. The wonton soup was good, but the rice had a burnt taste to it and the Kung Pao Chicken had a taste that I did not enjoy. I tried smothering it with hot chili oil but it did no justice for it. Sadly, I most likely won't be coming back here. The service was good, they were attentive and punctual in bringing our items and putting our leftovers in to-go boxes. The decor was a bit outdated. read more

We have been here for 7 yrs and this was the first time eating Chinese food in Naples. In DC where we still work there are hundreds or great little hole in the wall Chinese restaurants...this doesn't hold a candle to any of them. The egg rolls weee probably cooked a couple hours beforehand and sat under a heat lamp. Neither of us finished ours. I ordered the Hunan Family and first bite (pork) warm, at best. Center of the plate the broccoli and sauce were hot. The brown sauce was too thick for me so again an unfinished dish. Partners dish wasn't much better so left unfinished. When offered to-go boxes we both declined. When you eat in any restaurant and notice the condition of furniture and mismatched silverware, and general wear and tear you get a sense of what's about to happen and my expectations dropped when we walked in. Disappointing experience but with all the restaurants in the area, it's safe to assume you get one on chance at a first impression with me! read more

The boy wanted Chinese food. Came in around 6:15 and not busy. I saw the pork and the one duck in the window. Woo hoo! Was thinking of getting half a duck but decided to try the shrimp egg foo young. Ya should have had the duck. A bit greasy and not a lot of stuff inside. It had enuf shrimp but other than that it was bean sprout and onion and egg.. The gravy was definatly not to my liking. I'm used to almond gravy. This was sort of brown gravy and a layer of grease on top. Meh. Should have gotten duck. Now the Bf ordered right. He ordered one pound of bbq pork and white rice. We did get soups that were good. Him hot and sour and me egg drop. read more

Got this place delivered a few nights ago. There were some things I really liked and then others I didn't love. I ordered the general tsos combo with pork fried rice & and egg roll. I also got the boneless spare ribs with beef lo mein subbed in for rice. They also gave me a couple crab rangoons gratis which was really nice of them. First, let me just say that the service was incredibly friendly & the delivery was lightning quick. Two things that simply don't happen in Miami so definitely a breath of fresh air. The general tsos & fried rice were my favorite parts of the meal. They are extremely generous with the sauce on the chicken here. It was crunchy and pretty tasty. The rice was good as well. The boneless spare ribs are large chunks of unsauced rib meat. It took me a little aback & honestly I didn't care much for the dish. The lo mein was average. The spicy mustard here tasted different than most other spicy mustards I'm used to. It tasted like it came from one of those cannisters where you add water to create the mustard. Again, not my favorite. Overall, I'd say this place runs kind of middle of the pack in terms of take out Chinese spots. Good prices, large portions, friendly service, average food. read more

We had lunch here today, but we have eaten here many times. We are picky about our Chinese food, but Chinatown has never disappointed us! The Egg Drop and Hot and Sour soups are both delicious. We have loved every entree we have had. My husband usually has the Hunan Trio which he loves. I usually have the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce which has always been delicious. Today I tried the Veggie Lo Mien and I absolutely loved it!!! Delicious and not greasy at all which is huge for me. It even came with white rice (I'm a carb lover)!
