New owners, upgraded the room decor but still a no go for me. Why do I keep returning? Because my favorite cigar shop is next door. And I keep hoping things change for the better. I was excited as I read they had chow fun, wide rice noodles. I asked the girl if it was freshly made, she said yes. Found another place that is a hidden gem. This is a classic style take out I was used to in my former life in NY. The food was tasty and fresh with lots of flavor. Something that I have not found before in my short time in Florida. One thing that caught my attention was their house mustard. As a rule of thump, in my opinion, if a take out only has packets and no house mustard, food will not be good. This is a positive review of this establishment, they had house mustard. I ordered Kung Pow Chicken, egg rolls, and wonton soup and hot and sour soup with pork fried rice. Took home and was pleasantly surprised how much I was enjoying my dinner. Also picked up a vegetable fried rice for my mom who is visiting from NY. She was happy with her meal also. I give this take out 5 stars and will be back soon. It's expensive , the portions are small , the wonton soup taste like steamed broccoli water. The entrées have no taste the shrimp was clearly frozen and not de thawed well. This is a restaurant that cannot be trusted at all. If you order through Ubereats you would notice two restaurants at the exact address, but two different names. 1. Chinese Chen and 2. "Asian vegetarian restaurant". The second restaurant which by names seems like a Vegetarian restaurant is actually a gimmick of Ubereats which lets people create "virtual restaurants" out of thin air. We inquired about the "vegetarian" dishes, as it's a customary question to ask, and were met with somewhat hostile reply, that our dishes may not be clean, and utensils and oil will be contaminated. Lastly we were told "do whatever you do, but don't order from here." All we were looking for was a assurance from the owner/manager to say, we will do our best to make your food vegetarian. I ordered chicken chow mein (stir-fried noodles). What I received upon delivery was not chow mein. It was soggy cabbage, onion, and chicken. There were no "noodles", instead, I received a little bag of wonton chips. I called the restaurant and informed the young women who answered that I did not receive noodles. She asked, "well what do you think chow mein is". I responded that it was a stir-fried noodle dish, made with egg noodles. She tells me that "most places make chow mein that way but not us". I responded that chow mein literally translates to stir-fried noodles. She then gave the phone to who I assume was her manager, I wouldn't know because she cut me off mid-sentence and told me to "hold on". This man told me he put the "noodles" in the bag himself so there shouldn't be an issue. I assured him that I didn't see any noodles. Long story short, he didn't explain that the "noodles" he was referring to were actually a sad little bag of wonton chips. He kindly sent over another bag of chips after explaining to me the difference between chow main and lo mein. It's funny because even in his description of chow mein he explained to me that it's stir-fried vegetables on a bed of noodles. Apparently, they still don't make it that way at his own restaurant? How did the food actually taste? There was literally no flavor in the chow mein. It was edible but definitely not enjoyable. I couldn't believe that they would actually serve something like this. The wonton soup was also very bland. It was a pint of soup for $2. Good, right? No. Go somewhere else and spend a few extra $$ for decent food. I was really craving traditional dim sum but Naples really doesn't have much to offer, so I started searching for a local place and heard that China Chen had a small selection, I decided to try it out and it did not disappoint! This is a no frills little spot that is really meant more for take-out but it has a few small tables. The menu has all of typical Chinese takeout staples but I went straight for the pan fried dumplings, Siu Mai, and steamed BBQ pork buns. They were amazing! Probably the best pan fried dumpling I've had. You could tell they were home made from the flavor to the texture, they were so crispy. Even the sauce was outstanding. To drink I ordered a Japanese marble soda, lychee flavor. They are fun to pop open and watch the marble drop inside. I really wanted to order more but three dishes was definitely enough. Can't wait to try the scallion pancake next time! I just wish they had more of a dim sum selection! Will def be back. read more

It is a typical Take out style Chinese restaurant. It does look clean and while I was there I saw a lot of orders go out... so I am assuming locals do enjoy the taste and the location also helps... since it is next to a Publix and a Walgreen's... so I can see putting a take out order while going to take care of other things. The two stars is not because they were bad... actually is just that I've had better in other places around the nation/world... Maybe they are very good when compare to other local restaurants but I haven't try any other Chinese restaurant in Naples. I have to agree with a previous review, the meats and the vegetables tasted fresh and that the food had a good flavor, I will probably order again because of how close they are to where I am staying and also because they deliver. I do have to say that I was extremely surprise to find a few Dim-Sum items on the menu... and that is not usual for this type of Chinese restaurants. I actually tasted the Siu-Mei (Shu-Mai) and they were good... and the hot and sour soup was also good. READ THIS FIRST: Revisited 3 times now under new management? New chef? Whatever. The General Tso chicken is VERY good. No, really, it is not that same shit you get everywhere caked in breading. This guy uses a recipe style that I have had at few other places. I think its just dusted in rice flour and or corn starch and wok fried. Comes out with great crunch and moist chicken (well 2 out of 3 time anyhow) and the sauce is a deeper flavor too. It grows on you after the first bite because you expect the same old sweet thing. The rest of the dishes seem comparable to most places around. I have upgraded my previous 2 star rating solely on the General Tso dish. The remainder below is my previous review. Anyone who says this is good doesn't know food or Chinese food. Yes it is acceptable (maybe if you are that lazy and really don't have much of a palate), but it falls into the category of Chinese joints where every dish is far too similar in taste and composition. There is no love in the food. There is a much better choice just down the road. We have ordered from China Chen about 5 times. This is my fourth sampling of food at Chinese take out in Naples. They all seem boringly similar for the two things I'm ordering. Although they've all claimed to be rolling the egg rolls and pot stickers at the restaurant the only thing that is different is some taste of being cooked in fresher oil than others. China Chen used fresh oil. I waited 10 minutes for my order. $1.40 Pork Eggroll $5.25 Pan Fried Dumplings It's next to a smaller sized Publix. The parking was easy. You could shop while you wait. My work ordered from this Chinese place and I called to include my order in the mix. When it arrived, they took my money and my meal was not in the bag. I looked everywhere before calling and speaking to Ricky the manager. Ricky was rude and accused me of eating the meal and calling back for a free one! And ALSO proceeded to accuse my coworkers of taking it? I told him multiple times i did not receive my order and he refused to send me my order and continued to argue with me!
