The people were very very nice. Food was prepared quickly. However the curried chicken was not balanced flavor. Sauce was very little, spicy but only because of red pepper flakes. So, I've been living in town since Labor Day and have not frequented many establishments due to the pandemic. I have ordered very little takeout and limited delivery. Everything is just so bizarre and absurd with a pandemic. But tonight I wanted Chinese food and besides a pretty good stir fry I can make at home, no General Tso or dumplings will make themselves in my kitchen! I felt really good about ordering from this place as it looks sad when I pass it on my many walks. It is a bit run down on the exterior, with a fairly lame sign in need of replacement, and the interior which is retrofit with clever plexiglass pandemic protectors. At least they truly care for themselves and their customers. We ordered for two and a modest amount of food to not go overboard. An order of General Tso's Chicken with white rice, pint of Lo Mein and Steamed Dumplings. It came in under $20. A little less than what I paid for at our favorite place when in Freehold. The food was made by a lady, I presume the mother, and her daughter ran the counter and rang us up. Nice and hardworking people and proprietors probably struggling in these shitty times. At to that the idiots who somehow equate Chinese-Americans to the 2019 China Flu and stopped eating and ordering from these establishments and I'm certain it has been difficult for them. My order was ready when they said it would be ready. When I got home from walking the 3 blocks, my food was hot. The food was good. Fresh dumplings with a really tasty side sauce. The white rice perfectly sticky and the chicken plentiful for two. Maybe a bit slim on the broccoli but maybe they know something about the General that I don't know. Finally, the low mein was as good as anywhere else. I've read some of the other reviews and I'm slightly critical of their criticisms. Take-out Chinese is hard to screw up IMHO amd at Chinatown, their quality, service and food matches up to the majority so I think they deserve a break and some patronage, especially from the locals. We recently moved to the area and have been missing our favorite Chinese food place by our old home. This is the third place we have tried in the area and it was pretty promising. We ordered delivery during the big 2022 blizzard and were quite happily surprised to receive our food pretty quickly. We ordered some staples such as general Tso's, hot and sour soup, fried wontons, fried chicken, and chow fun. The general Tso's and fried chicken were nice and crisp. The chow fun was not too oily and was good. The fried wontons could've been crispier and the hot and sour soup could use some more flavor. I love chinese food...and i'm not a very picky eater, but this was by far the worst chinese take-out food i have ever eaten. It's pretty hard to mess up standard chinese takeout but chinatown kitchen managed to do it. I was unable to finish the main dish or any of the side dishes. Local Pick up Chinese Food. Standard menu that you see all across the country including the normal combo specials. Clean & Courteous both on the phone and at time of pickup. Not big on spices but I understand with all of the people with food allergies they have to watch the seasoning. Only suggestion I would have is to consider local delivery. Wow. So as a person who eats cheap food always, this really is at good as it gets. I went today with my family while on a visit to Bradley Beach. The Mom isn't the friendliest of people, I guess because of the language barrier but her son is amazing. Just deal with him. He can't be older than 10-12 but he understands English perfectly, works quick and does most of the translating for everyone at the spot. The food is the best Chinese I've had because it's not greasy, you can tell they actually change the oil when they cook and the presentation was the nicest out of all these other regular run of the mill corner Chinese spots up north. I didn't get any heartburn (lol) and my hands weren't coated in grease. Clean is the best way I can describe the food. The fries were crispy, the rice was delicious, the General Tso's, sheesh I'm jealous we don't have a spot like this around here. Hard to get cheap good Chinese food.
