So let me just say, there is barely a sign. It is a small window sign but nothing you could see down the block, so look carefully. I went with my mother and sister (who doesn't eat seafood). My sister ordered their awesomely priced lunch special (6 bucks?) (mixed veggies with tofu instead of shrimp), with egg drop soup and the meal which COULD have been a bit more flavorful but the portions were great. I ordered eggplant in garlic sauce, my fobby mom liked it but I needed a bit of a better spice kick and WAY too much visible oil for my liking. If you are going to make it oily, HIDE the fat up, dont make me feel horrible for eating it... I stared at my thighs the entire time, hoping it wasn't going straight there.. My mom ordered one of the "box" meals they offer (which is pretty good). She ordered a shrimp teriyaki after glaring at the woman next to us trying to figure out what her dish was...It comes with chicken dumplings that our horrible waiter didn't tell us about before even though we told him we don't eat meat which he could have replaced with one of the veggie dumplings they have ALREADY made (and we ordered).. it comes with 4 pieces of California roll, a pea size dessert and three pieces of jumbo teriyaki shrimp, she wasn't full but liked it.. I often order from here always takeout or delivery. I order the same thing every time and I make is specifically clear every time what I do not want in there (Onions and pork). Yet I always seem to find one or two onion when I get home to eat my food. Luckily I am not allergic otherwise they could have killed be over 10 times now. Pros: Good Price Decent Tasting Food Cons: Don't bother with most of the "Japanese" section, especially fish. My JapaWife vetoed it for all future purchases, and she could even eat at Yoshinoya. I think the food is soaking with MSG. They don't claim it has no MSG and it has this mega MSG after taste in your mouth as if mini Dexter (see show) came into your mouth and covered it completely with plastic wrap. It's unlikely you will have a productive day after having a full lunch at this place, but you will enjoy a fantastic nap! MSG and other ingredients might have to do with it. read more

Been going here for a few years. Good, consistent, clean. We're fans of the Chinatown house special fried rice (not greasy like other places}, mongolian beef, chicken corn soup, the tofu and mixed veggies. Really you ought to ask for the "homes style" menu...it's less the Americanized Chinese food style...and closer to real Chinese food. The standard fair of Chicken and Broccoli, etc....it's all good. As for delivery...these guys get busy...and I haven't read the reviews...but don't expect them to be right there if they've got loads going out...depends on where you are in the queue. As for the Sushi - not my favorite but a good place to compromise with your loved one when you're both pining over different flavors. Try the Sushi cake...or the others on the appetizer section. Wanted some takeout Chinese for so I decided to take a walk over to this place. Right when I walked in I noticed this does not look like your typical Chinese restaurant; it was nicely decorated with a large fish tank in the back and a small sushi bar. Not a bad place to come for a nice, quite dinner. I had ordered the general tso chicken and an appetizer fried dumpling. When I got home, I was amazed at how much food there was and how well presented it was. This was not in a regular, jam as much food together as you can, Chinese container. All the foods were separated nicely and the combo included the chicken, rice, egg roll, 3 small dumplings, and a soup. Way more food than I would normally expect to receive. The rice was delicious, much better than anywhere else I have ordered from. The chicken was very good, a bit dry but I also feel it was healthier than normal. The dumplings were okay, nothing great but not bad either. In the end, nice spot to come for dinner or get takeout. It is also BYOB, so that's a plus as well. read more

The sushi was pretty decent, haven't tried the Chinese food yet. All the rolls were fresh and prices are quite similar to the competitors. I do feel that their Kani Salad was a little overpriced, but was good and had a good spicy kick. I will definitely be heading back to try other special rolls they have. read more

Love this place!! I used to live close by and order from here at least once a week. Now I live in Manhattan and make the drive all the way here to satisfy my Chinese food craving. My favorite dish is General Tso's Tofu. I've never found a place that makes comparable General Tso's sauce. This is the best!!! Staff is super friendly and provides excellent hospitality! Well this is going to be a shocker to all those Yelpers who have given this place great ratings Here's the deal-- I ordered: Egg drop soup--- bland needed salt or something to give it flavor Spicy Sesame noodle---not spicy at all regardless of the fact that we asked for spicy; small portion Sweet & Sour chicken--- thick crust; had to remove crust to be able to eat the chicken Shredded Pork-Shenghai; Made as requested with no sugar; basically good flavor but where's the salt?? Brown Rice: Ordered in lieu of white rice. Tasted so iodized/metallic that I could not eat it. Waiter (white shirt & dark pants) said he was sorry and couldn't do anything about it (like they say in the Bronx; can't do nuttin' about nuttin') Still he felt he could add to the bill by charging extra for brown rice I couldn't eat. He could have done something about that!!! But nope, he was going to put in on the bill anyway. The restaurant was lovely and very clean, customer service was friendly as a matter of fact to friendly and I found out why. I purchased rost duck $15.00 their house soup $7.00 and steamed potstickers $5+ ...potstickers tasted a bit unusual to me; soup was flavorless and the rost duck appeared to be from the day before and was hard and dry. When I went to write a tip the cashier declined the offer. This should have been a red flag for me to look in the bag before leaving with my takeout. To say the least when I got back to my hotel I flushed the soup my husband ate the sticker and trashed the duck, we had just drove from Iowa to New Jersey and I was to tried to complain. read more

Too much of anything is never a good thing huh? Well, I kind of love this place. We get catered food from Chinatown maybe one or two Mondays a month. These are usually the days where the line to get food in our office is so long that we have bodies pushed up against the glass partitions for one of our other departments. They have served veggie lo mein, veggie fried rice, chicken and broccoli, beef and broccoli, boneless spare ribs, shrimp tempura rolls, california rolls, sweet potato rolls, spring rolls, and if we're lucky the garlic harbor shrimp. I can rate everything that is Chinese about a 4/5. The Garlic Harbor shrimp and spring rolls would be 5/5. The Japanese sushi however a 3/5 due to the fact they are usually prepared early and displayed for a few hours rather than made fresh on the spot(rice is softer). I've also have had Chinatown deliver a few times and they were quick to deliver most of the time. Even when an older lady was late with delivery, she gave me like $5 off the order and left before I was even able to give a tip(drove there after work and dropped it off to her). I occasionally ordered from a spot a few doors down (5 grains) but when comparing the two Chinatown holds down Harrison when it comes to quality Chinese food. Plus if you go to dine in, it does look a lot better than a majority of Chinese spots in the are. The one thing factor giving this place a 4/5 rather than 5/5 is the prices. They are a little high in my opinion, but the quality is better than most, but still overpriced slightly. read more

3.5 stars overall. Chinese food is 4 stars, but I wasn't really impressed with the Japanese fare (it was fine, not great). We got a smorgasbord of stuff to try. Here's what we tried: Tea - 2 stars. Weak as hell to start (colored water) due to the single tea bag that had recently been dipped in the water, and only moderately better after it had been sitting for a while. Miso soup - 3.5 stars. Good flavor, possibly too salty for most folks, but the seaweed was kind of tough. Salmon sashimi - 3 stars. It was poorly sliced and although fresh, I've absolutely had fresher. The slices were thin and actually folded over (odd). If each order wasn't only about $2.50, I would have been upset. BBQ spare ribs - 4.5 stars. Delicious, meaty ribs, sweet, sticky, satisfying. Steamed pork dumplings - 4.75 stars. YUM. I generally don't enjoy the ground meat in dumplings, but these were something special. The pork was flavorful, memorable and addictive. Beef Chow Feng (chow fun elsewhere) - 4 stars. The noodles were cooked perfectly, as was the beef. I didn't care for the peppers mixed in, and felt like it could have used more garlic. It smelled divine though. Service was good, although one of the guys was rather curt. Our reservation for 7 on a Saturday night was totally unnecessary - we were one of maybe 4 filled tables. Dinner was cheap though! We left stuffed on $40 for 2 people. Nice place to grab dinner, but I wouldn't go too far out of my way to get there. read more

I use to come here often, but more often I would order for delivery. For a long time I was ordering sushi from here ATLEAST once a week but now I am never ordering from here again. Out of the blue they told me their is a $15 minimum for delivery. My orders are always between $10-13 plus tip but apparently my money isn't good enough anymore. The owner was very unsympathetic and just blatantly said no when asked if they could still deliver my $10 order. For a long time I've heard horror stories about this establishment. Mostly pertaining tip conflicts. They once ran outside, after my friends, to yell at them for not tipping enough. Mind you they go their all the time (or went) and always tipped 15% or more. This however was the final straw. The owners of this restaurant are greedy and terrible business owners. They do not value their customers and show no signs of loyalty. There are many other locations that far surpass this establishment in terms of quality, price and customer service. Avoid this place like you would a skunk. read more

It is clean & the waiters are efficient. They have lunch deals for $6.95 which includes fried rice, soup(wonton, egg drop or hot and sour)or soda and hot tea. If you're into Sushi/California rolls they have bento boxes for around $10. One thing I really appreciate about this place is that the food is not greasy yet it has lots of flavor. I get the General Tso chicken(they use white meat)...not the mystery stuff sometimes found in General Tso at other restaurants. The GT has a sweet and spicy kick to it. Everyone I've introduced this place to at work loves it(my wife & daughter too). Now I must say this...you are NOT going to leave this place stuffed but you will leave content. Tip. Usually, I'd turn a blind eye when it came to the prices but the quality was worth it. Well, that all changed this afternoon when I ordered with my buddy. The pricing for my order was correct but he was overcharged. He got the Sesame Chicken, in which the PDF menu said the price was $10.95. The online menu said $11.95.
