Orange chicken, beef lo mein, hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings
Adam J.

China Wok is right around the corner from me. It's everything I'd want in a strip mall Chinese restaurant. Fast friendly service, hot and delicious foods, and affordable. I don't know why China Wok isn't rated higher on here. I order from there probably twice a month and I've never been disappointed. It's exactly what you want and expect it to be. The steamed dumplings and wonton egg drop soup are staples for me. I try to rotate through entrees but I often end up resorting to the kung pao chicken. I've asked them about starting a rewards program for loyal customers such as myself, but there didn't seem to be much interest. That'd be my only complaint.

Best Chinses Food ever!!!

Good and tasty as always. We ordered large Sesame chicken come with white rice, and chicken with broccoli with extra egg rolls. Have to order extra egg rolls. Ask for well done and eat it right away. They are so delicious and crispy. Can't say no to egg rolls! We enjoyed the food and definitely will come back again!

Lunch Specials!

Not very good. Asked for spicy, had little to no flavor. Too much rice. Not enough beef. Friendly staff. I'm still hungry and I need to get something else to eat. Lots of Chinese food around, probably will not return.

Sesame chicken with the house fried rice-delivered nice, hot n tasty!

This. All of this. This is what a Chinese restaurant…read moreshould be. Great food at decent prices, friendly servers, and no contrived fluff over getting some hipster deconstructed curry kabob blah blah blah. Our food (and we tried quite a few things) was fresh, hot, and delicious. Not one person who worked there passed by us without asking how we were or if we needed anything. Our only minor nitpick would combo dinners getting veggie fried rice instead of pork but even that was good.

I have my usuals that I get delivered from here but I decided to try all new dishes. First I…read morestarted with the pork dumplings which are probably the best damn dumplings I've ever had. Yes they were that good and the tangy soy sauce that pairs with it enticed the hell out of my taste buds. I wasn't sure if I had already tried the beef in hot garlic sauce but I ordered it anyway. I chose a non- spicy choice but it definitely would probably be more flavorful with more spice. I loved that it came with veggies - bamboo shoots, carrots and my favorite...mushrooms! The house pan fried noodles were certainly interesting as the crispy egg noodles were in a separate container from the shrimp, calamari, chicken, pork and vegetables. Once you added the protein, veggies and gravy the noodles start to soften up. Loved that it came with more mushrooms but wished it had more taste. Overall I will definitely be getting those pork dumplings again but I may just stick to my old faithful house fried rice and orange beef until I'll feeling adventurous again.

Egg roll very fresh but not much filling. Considering that's probably complimentary, that is a minor ding. Service was friendly and extremely nice. Definitely will order again!

Third update to by this customer... A famous print ad from the 80s was headlined "You can't eat…read moreatmosphere." Now, aside from not using the correct term "ambiance", the thought is a perfect argument why you should try Fong's Garden. To start, there is no garden. Nor is there any ambiance of a higher elan than an overnight laundry. (I hear this will change, soon. Business idea: Fong's Natural Laundry Detergent!) You want ambiance? Try Echo where the Wonton Soup is near $20. FG's is just as good or better at under $6. There in lies the added fourth star. The chef is reaching his or her golden age. Having experienced Chinatown dining in Manhattan, Queens and San Francisco, I can attest Fong's Garden is right up there with the best. And right up there with the hugely higher-priced Breaker's restaurant, Echo. Mongolian Beef, a signature dish, is superb with tender protein and just the right amount of sesame and whatever else it is that makes it so much of a must order. Moo Goo Gai Pan is also what one would expect from a much more luxurious and expensive joint... Even the rice was well made. The wonton soup, five stars. And jee shucks, even the new Menu and logo are keeping it classy in the Palm Beaches. Getting back to the atmosphere thing, you also can't eat what you don't see on the menu. Big tip here: Ask about Egg Foo Young. FG will do the rest. Same for Won Ton/Egg Drop combo soup. In fact, I wonder if FG is doing a "double secret menu" just to tease us. If so, could Peking Duck be on our future? Please? Maybe for Chinese New Year? By then the back area Garden should be open with Fong's Garden branded blind folds available to spare your date the anti-pleasures of the small, spare few tables and chairs with views of the counter and walls. (Blindfolds? Business idea: Fifty Shades of General Tso's Chicken). As you read the other reviews, remember new management took over just this year. Anything before 2024 does not reflect current Fong's Garden. Order online. Take home. Enjoy in your own backyard.

The ingredients tasted fresh, the seasoning was on point, and nothing felt unnecessarily heavy or overly sauced. The shrimp shumai were delicious--generously filled and flavorful. The garlic clam with vermicelli was probably my favorite. Not only was the presentation beautiful, served on oyster shells, but the combination actually worked. The garlic was flavorful without overpowering the delicate clams, and the vermicelli provided a great contrast in texture. This is the kind of dish where you can tell some thought went into the execution. The sweet and sour pork was also very well done. Crisp, not greasy, and importantly, not drowning in an overly sweet sauce. The balance was just right. We finished with the egg custard, which takes about 20 minutes to prepare. It was worth waiting for. It had that genuine, traditional quality that you don't always find when restaurants start modifying dishes to appeal to a broader audience. And then there was the service: Our server, Mai, was wonderful. She was warm, courteous, and professional without being overly formal or hovering. More importantly, she actually knew the menu. Her recommendations were excellent, and every dish she suggested delivered. She also recommended a sake pairing that complemented the meal beautifully. I also thought the pricing was very reasonable for the quality. These are dishes that require good ingredients and careful preparation, and I didn't feel like we were paying an inflated price. Authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, thoughtful execution, and genuinely good service. That's what makes a restaurant worth returning to--and Grand Lake got all four right. A very solid 5 stars from me.

I ordered the War Shu Duck, and it was every bit as good as I remembered from when I was a kid--crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The wonton noodle soup was outstanding as always. The broth was clean, rich, and full of flavor. The wontons were generously filled with shrimp and pork, along with bok choy, making every bite satisfying. I also had the shrimp balls, which arrived piping hot, were perfectly cooked, and weren't greasy at all. They were packed with flavor. Overall, another excellent dining experience. It's great to see a longtime local favorite continue to deliver the same quality after all these years. I'll definitely be back.

When I bring friends that are new to the concept, staff are eager to explain the bar, the revolving ingredients, and the different types of broth.
