This is my favorite American-Chinese takeout spot in NJ! The owners are very nice, the food comes out quick, and the quality is good. I've tried other Chinese takeout places in the area, and China Wok is the only one that I've been satisfied with. I love their Crab Rangoon and like to get Beef Chow Fun. Simple take out food. They make a good Singapore Mei Fun. I always order chicken with broccoli.

My husband and I got take out from China Wok. I had a Chef's Special of Spicy Shredded Chicken and hubby had a Combo Special of Peppersteak with Onions. We also ordered a Hot & Sour Soup. The Hot & Sour Soup was very good. However, the Spicy Shredded Chicken was neither hot, nor Shredded. But worst of all, it had hardly any meat at all, but was basically a mild sauce with mostly big, wide strips of green peppers and onion, with very few, small pieces of chicken - almost no meat at all. Likewise, the Peppersteak with Onions consisted mostly of big, wide strips of green peppers. Big disappointment. We assumed the prices had been raised because of the increase of the cost of meat. $30 for two meals consisting of mainly rice with peppers and onions is a bit hefty, not to mention disappointing. Nah, we'll stick to Chung Sing on Rt 9 N! read more

The food was cheap, but it tasted cheap. Scallion pancakes were burned and tasted like they were made in a dirty pan. Egg rolls were greasy, spare ribs were over cooked and chewy, and the dumpling sauce was oddly sweet. The lo mein was over cooked and the noodles were all stuck together and gluely. That said, the dumplings themselves were good- tasty meat and good meat to wrapper ratio. The crab rangoon was also good. We ordered a lot on grubhub and they gave us a free general tsaos, but I wish they called to ask if we wanted that vs something else. Also, no soda through the website. I've been eating food here since before I could talk. It's only about time I leave a review. It's such a nice little place in our side of town with really good prices. By far my favorite dish is their beef lo mein. It has a been a bit shaky recently, but today they finally got the flavor back! It's cooked to a perfect Al dente texture and has such an amazing savory flavor. I fully recommend getting this dish. Another favorite of ours is their boneless spare ribs. I've been going here since I was young and they have the best lomein in NJ. Every time I visit my mom we order a large beef lomein. The noodle is always al dente and has a nice wok flavor to it that is perfectly seasoned. They make every dish to order (I know because I enjoy watching them do their magic in the kitchen while I'm waiting for my food) and ingredients are fresh. There was one time when we ordered egg drop right when they opened for the day and forgot to season the soup. We told them and the owners felt bad and gave us something for free, although we declined. This also demonstrates they make everything from scratch. Best Chinese take out in central new jersey Reasonably priced fresh food. I have been ordering from China wok for several years. The food reminds me of wo hop in China town The location is nothing to talk about and I would not stay there to eat but the food is the reason. Quick take out or delivery. Wontons in the spicy sauce is a great appetizer. Lo mein or chow fun are great and the boneless chicken is a favorite in my house. I have come here many times, sometimes as often as twice a week. Today i ordered take out and when i came to pick up , i decided to get a 2 liter pepsi. The lady behind the counter went to the fridge to get it when a male worker (possibly owner) stopped her and he went to retrieve it for me. She rang me up as i watched him take the soda from the back of the fridge instead of the one closest. I knew at that time he was going to give me the old one. Long story short, i paid for everything and left, went to the car and looked at the date on the soda. It was over a month expired. Don't get me wrong, i would have no problem drinking it as it was sealed , it was the principle of the matter that bothered me most since i was a frequent customer and everyone that works there knows it. Long story short, i brought it back inside and told the woman behind the register it was expired. She acted as if she had no idea and was shocked. I won't be giving them my business anymore. I ordered from this place because of the reviews. I WISH I HADN'T. It was A waste of the little bit of cash I had. I ordered shrimp egg food young w/fried rice. My rice smelled awful! Like a no good smell. I tasted it(I don't why I did that)... and it tasted like it smelled. I paid with cash and didn't have enough for a tip. The man fussed at me and yelled at me because of that. Sautéed vegetables are the best I've had in this area. I suggest you either eat in or get take out. Delivery sucks! We ordered takeout from this place for the 1st time tonight. Food delivery arrived quickly and hot. We have a rule whenever we try a new place out. Keep the food choices very simple. If the simple entrees are prepared as you traditional like them, then a 2nd takeout order from the recommended house specialities menu at another time will happen. On our simple menu tonight was 3 things: Pan fried dumplings, Double Sautéed Pork combo & my childhood favorite, Kung Pao Chicken combo. Both combos came with a choice of fried, white or brown rice & an egg roll. Portions sizes were good. Both entrees weren't greasy & both really tasty. We were both very satiated with our meals & plan on ordering takeout again real soon. read more

If I could give zero stars, that's what I would give. My family has been ordering from here for years and tonight the food was absolutely disgusting and unedible! The pork fried dumplings were extremely over cook and had a horrible taste and the beef with vegetables didn't even tast like beef it was chewy and soggy. We called and spoke to the owner and told her we didn't want a refund but the food that we had today wasn't the same as usual and went right in the garbage and she defended her food saying there was nothing wrong with the food and if we wanted a refund we have to come into the store and get it! She did not apologize and still believed her food was good yet $42 later it was all in the trash. The best thing about the food was the 2 liter of Pepsi. Chicken with string beans came out looking like dog food - the string beans were shriveled up and soggy as can be and the chicken was like little strips of grizzle mixed in. Ordered spring rolls,mu shu pork and steamed chicken and broccoli with sauce in the side. They forgot the spring rolls, charged $2 extra for sauce on side. The mu shu pork wrappers were stale and crumbled at the touch. The food tasted stale and over cooked. Definitely not fresh. Will not order from this place again. Total waste of money. I recommend they increase their prices by 25% so they can afford fresh food. read more

the worst experience ever. We ordered Pork in garlic sauce. guess what all vegetables 4 slices of pork. Ordered General Tsos chicken, we got lots of brcccoli and 8 pieces of chicken ( this is a large order) We ordered House Lo mein which suppose to hve everything ie Pork .chicken , shrimp,beef and other things. We got 7 very small shrimp 4 pieces of sliced pork and very thin pieces of chicken (1/4 inch by 3/4 inch ) DIsgusting.!!! We will never go to this place again!!! read more

Ordered food which arrived inedible. Called the restaurant to discuss the problem & they basically didn't want to hear or deal with complaint. They refused to pick it up or refund my money. I ordered white meat general tso's chicken which was like shoe leather or deep fried jerky. You couldn't bite through it , it was that dried out, was it even chicken ? They told me they knew it was good because they were eating it themselves yet they also told me it was made special just for me - lies. I've been a long time customer & over a $10 dinner they don't care that I will never order or recommend them ever again. Just be advised that they are more concerned with keeping your money then the quality of food & service they provide. Disgusted ! read more
