I don't typically like to get takeout, but was in a time crunch and wanted some restaurant food…read more Noodle soups are always a hit or miss with takeout, but I'm glad to say their beef pho was a hit! My partner and I shared the pho, pork jerky, and mango sticky rice. As you can see, I enjoyed some of my Thai tea on the way home! Very sweet but very good. The pho broth was very savory and flavorful, and the texture of the noodles softened up with a perfect slightly chewy texture. The pork jerky was also very tasty.. crispy and the sauce reminded me of an Asian spicy chimichurri sauce. Finally, the mango sticky rice was great overall... the sticky rice was shaped into little donut like circles and was delicious. The only thing I'd change about this meal is the mango. Not bad, but I'm used to perfectly ripe mangos with my sticky rice :P The restaurant looked really cute when picking up the food and the host was really kind. Looking forward to dining in soon!

If you've driven by and wondered about it, don't let the building fool you--it occupies the former Golden Corral, so the restaurant is huge. There's plenty of seating, making it a great option whether you're dining with a couple of people or a large group. The standout for me is the seafood boil. The combo options are absolutely on point, with generous portions, perfectly cooked seafood, and seasoning that brings everything together without overpowering the natural flavors. It's one of the better seafood boils I've had in eastern North Carolina. The sushi is equally impressive. Everything tasted fresh, was beautifully prepared, and offered a nice variety of traditional rolls and specialty creations. It's not often you find a place that does both seafood boils and sushi this well. The service was friendly and attentive, and despite the size of the restaurant, the food came out promptly. Whether you're in the mood for hibachi, sushi, or a seafood feast, Sake Hibachi Sushi & Bar delivers. It's a great addition to the New Bern dining scene, and I'll definitely be back.
