Over the holiday break my family ordered from China Town. It was easy to order and the meal arrived prior to the predicted time. Unfortunately, my dish didn't shine. I ordered sesame chicken, but it came more like a sweet and sour chicken with slightly different sauce. This was not what I've grown to expect from other places when I order sesame chicken. My husband and I decided to eat there with our 3 young grandchildren. The young man at the counter needs to be trained on customer service as his was very poor and he could not answer basic questions about the menu. Then after we ate I sat in the restaurant waiting for our bill while my husband got the kids settled in the car. I had to ask for the bill that's when the woman I spoke with had the same young man give me the bill. He commented something about me walking out without paying. I reminded him that I had been sitting at the same table waiting on the bill and I finally asked for it as no one had given us one. Very poor first visit. Had trouble ordering on-line so we called the restaurant. They suggested we delete the program and reinstall and our order should be accepted. We were also told about a $10 off offer for first time customers. When I arrived to pick up the order I found they had run my card and did not deduct the $10 off offer. Despite my repeated attempts to get the bill corrected they refused to credit the $10 so I ended up telling them that this was both my first and last visit to this place. Easter weekend 2025 we decided on Chinese for dinner. Our first time here and everything was really nice. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating should you decide to dine in. Simply use the IPad to check in, place your order and pay, very very easy to use. It was about a 4 minute wait for our to go order and the staff was friendly. They have a spin board for you to spin and win FREE food items. Our coconut chicken w/rice and Orange chicken w/pineapple rice was really, really good as was the Crab Rangoon. The dishes are of huge proportions and next time we will choose one dish to split. I'd say give them a try if you are wanting Chinese food. read more

Tried the Szechuan chicken from here which was amazing. It was extremely flavorful, and it had just a perfect kind of spiciness to it. We also got the Hunan chicken, which was delicious. Not to mention all of the food was Halal. The service was also very quick. We sat down and we got all of our food within 10 minutes. There were also other people eating here which was great. When I lived in Waterford, China Jade was my go-to for Chinese food. Since moving to West Bloomfield, I've been checking out the Chinese restaurants around here. So far, China Town has been my favorite. The thing I like best here is that they have brown rice. It's hearty and just tastes wholesome -- a nice complement to my favorite dish: sweet and sour chicken. But, there are some things that don't make sense to me, like their dinner "combinations." At the top of the page, it says that you get a choice of rice and soup, noodles are $2 and egg rolls or spring rolls are 90 cents. I ordered on the online app and chose the wonton soup and and an egg roll to go with the sweet & sour chicken. But when I got there, there was no soup, and when I ordered it, I was charged $3.95. I like that they don't use styrofoam in their packaging; they do use plastic, but at least it's reusable. I also like that they package the sauce separately from the chicken so it doesn't get soggy. However, since there is nothing else with the chicken, it's basically chicken nuggets. When I got home, I added carrots, sweet red peppers and cucumbers, which, in years gone by, were always in sweet & sour dishes, along with pineapple. I do wish the restaurants would add these thing back in. As others have said, they give good portions for the price. I will definitely continue going there. read more

I am very surprised with this place's 3.5 star rating. It is truly a little gem of a Chinese restaurant! I have eaten here and done takeout numerous times and have never been disappointed. It is family run and everyone working here is always kind and helpful. The food is always authentic tasting. The ambience is cozy. I have had most of their soups and the hot and sour is my favorite! The noodles are always on point. Try the udon! I love their orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour chicken has the perfect crunchy coat and the sauce is perfection. First time trying their food and I gotta say, it's not my fav and I definitely won't be back. It wasn't awful or anything, there are just way better options in the area. Prices were way higher than other Chinese takeout nearby so I thought it would be better quality but pretty much everything was worse. I ordered Szechuan Tofu. The veggies were still pretty raw and the Szechuan sauce tasted more plain oily than flavorful. The fried tofu was super spongy and was kinda an odd texture. My kids and I ordered takeout. The sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, shrimp fried rice, crab rangoon and dumplings. The chicken was extremely (dry) overcooked. The shrimp fried rice should be called shrimp mixed rice because it didn't seem like it was cooked. I had to add soy sauce because it was flavorless. There wasn't any egg in it either. The pad Thai is also just okay, and the same with the egg rolls. Nothing to write home about. The Costco chicken egg rolls are actually better. This place is a pretty solid 4star Chinese carryout joint! I've tried a bunch of things on their menu and most of them are pretty good, plus the prices here are surprisingly low for the amount of food you get, the quality and the location. My favorite dishes I've had from here are: sesame chicken, orange chicken, garlic sting beans, garlic chicken and the bento boxes! You can even order online and the food is always accurate and speedy. Plus the egg rolls are bomb!
