Absolutely disgusting experience. I ordered wings, fries, and cookies from Wingo's for a group of…read morefriends I was hosting. One of the individually wrapped cookies arrived with a large portion visibly eaten away, and the packaging itself appeared to have been chewed through. Based on its condition, it appeared to have been gnawed by a rodent. I was so nauseated by what I found that I threw out the entire order. I was not comfortable serving or eating food that had arrived alongside a packaged item in that condition. What makes this even worse is the response afterward. Uber Eats refunded me only for the single cookie, rather than the meal I discarded because of the apparent sanitation issue. I then contacted Wingo's directly to give the restaurant an opportunity to address what happened and received no response. I understand that restaurants can have problems and that delivery issues happen. But receiving food with packaging that appears to have been chewed through and the food partially eaten is a serious food-safety concern. Ignoring a customer who reports something like this makes it considerably worse. I would strongly encourage anyone considering ordering from Wingo's to avoid it. This was easily one of the most revolting food-delivery experiences I have ever had.

The seasoning was on point, and the chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously tender inside. And that roll?! It tasted like a sweet Hawaiian roll on steroids. SO good! The sides were equally amazing and definitely held their own. I don't know exactly how Honeymoon Chicken got its name, but after eating this chicken, I can absolutely see how it could put you in that honeymoon phase. It was THAT good! I'll definitely be back for more.

The downfall was the service in the patio. We sat there for another twenty minutes after a waitress came over to ask if we checked in the front, and stated yes, the host told us to pick a table. We had to stop a waiter to order beverages and the seating options were near the dumpster so wasn't too fond of that. Would rec to sit inside!

I was at Electric Cool-Aid nearby and thought I should give it another try for the first time in several years. I did a quick takeout order online, walked over from Electric Cool-Aid, and waited a few minutes inside the carryout. I got the soy garlic and honey hot three wing and and two drumstick combo. A total bill of $13.53. The fried chicken is not actually put into a box a tray in a bag. The wings and drumstick were still decently crispy when I got home. Great flavor on everything. I think this combo was a great value. I still had a drumstick and wing leftover.

You will find a few parking spots on the street in front of the restart and within a reasonable walking distance. They serve wings and tenders with a large selection of sauces to choose from. I placed my order online, so it was ready by the time I got there. I just double parked, like most people do in the city, ran in and got my food. The staff there was very nice. The inside customer area is very small, but I was in and out. I ordered 10 wings, which I thought I ordered in 2 flavors. however it only came in one, mambo. That is ok. The wings were very delicious. I mean like finger licking delicious, packed with flavor. I also got a side of mac and cheese, which was also really good. It was cheesy like I like it, fresh and tasty. All in all, I really enjoyed my meal here. I am always skeptical when a see a restaurant claiming to have the best of something. The pork chop tasted burned and seemed as though it had been cooked in old oil. The collard greens were, without a doubt, the worst I've ever had. They were tough, lacked flavor, and tasted like they had simply been cooked in salt water. The macaroni and cheese tasted like it came straight from a box, with very little seasoning or flavor beyond salt. I ended up throwing most of my meal away because it was take out. If I was in the restaurant I would have asked for my money back. For the price, I expected much better quality and flavor. This was a very disappointing dining experience, and I would not recommend these dishes based on my experience

These are the classic characteristics of traditional smoked chicken wings. The tenders on the other hand are good however not as crispy on the breading as I'd like. I believe they are trying to accomplish a soft breading which is OK however theirs is a different kind of soft breading resulting from the batter/flour and frying process. Borderline soggy. These tenders are very tender and would be exceptional if they'd change their flouring and frying technique. Overall a good chicken tenders that I'd purchase again when ordering chicken wings. I don't think I'd travel here exclusively for tenders. As far as sauces are concerned, I tried the Smokey Buffalo, Alabama White BBQ and Honey Mustard. Would like to have some traditional flavors available for the traditional palates. Overall a very good experience.

There was no Parmesan cheese on the salad, and there were 2 croutons in the salad. Pass. Perhaps it would be good as compost. There was no tomato soup delivered. Instead, there was an extra tub of Mac n' cheese, which was tasteless. The hummus was good, but the wedges of pita bread were hard, possibly a week or two old. Disappointing, but it's okay to serve crap food to people restricted to the hotels in snow-bound DC.

I ordered 10 Old Bay wings for $15 with a side of collard greens. I was told the fish was good so I also added some Fried Whiting and I'm glad I did. About 20 minutes go by and my food comes out piping hot. They have about 6 tables inside to eat so I figured I'd try everything fresh. I started with the old bay wings. DELICIOUS!!! Perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned, nice and crunchy. They are wingettes so not the biggest but they definitely pack the punch. The fried Whiting are a great size. Long and meaty. Very crispy and flavorful. The tarter sauces simply enhances the flavor. The cook came by to check on me which was nice. I let him know that his wings are a hit and the fish is great. I'll without a doubt be back. This may turn into a weekly stop for me.

So why a rating of 4? Here's why: - They should warn you when you order that it will take *at least* 30 minutes to get your food. (It took a 34 minutes in-person wait to receive 10 wings) - The lady who works the front literally gives zero effs - Mac n cheese looks good but is bland - Collards are worse than the Mac. Full of stems, flavorless, and cooked with no care or soul - Place itself is a bit divey, but that didn't bother me Bottom line: order ahead and get the wings but skip all the sides. Also, please warn your patrons about the wait time! You know what it is, but we don't.

My grilled chicken was moist, flavorful, and cooked very well. The fried catfish was not too salty and had great balance where you can taste the fish. The mac and cheese, cabbage, and green beans were all of nice quality, the weakest link is the potato salad, however that is a dish that can be complicated for different restaurants to get the hang of, fortunately I can prepare some awesome potato salad myself. The peach half and half drinks were balanced perfectly well not too sugary and sweet. I swear some of these places make drinks way too sweet and you want to check your insulin levels. The server was highly attentive and a great conversationalist and paid attention to our wants and needs and had superb professionalism and a strong work ethic. He was hospitable and accommodating. The staff was friendly and approachable. We had fun and enjoyed this more than Milk and Honey and even Carolina Kitchen. DC keeps gentrifying and losing its soul, but there are still some hidden gems around. This spot blends in with the Walmart, and funnily enough I have driven past here a gazillion of times and assumed it was some bakery or another spot and did not know it was a soul food joint, something DC has been minimizing and pushing out to Maryland like the city always does. I think it is masterful that they use clear plastic containers for their food making it easier for the staff as that can be expensive and time consuming with the dish washing/prep, sound economical move. It is nice that the business (U Street etc. location) has been in the DMV for over 20 years and expanded to Baltimore in Fells Point. I think Baltimore will like this spot! This felt authentic and soulful in a way that I had not experienced in the city in quite some time, as the city has had a lot of restaurants be sterile, bland, flavorless, and catered to certain demographics while completely ignoring others. I liked the soundtrack with R&B and was able to hear some TLC on the soundtrack which was very nostalgic and a throwback to DC before the gentrification when it was truly Chocolate City! Overall, it is a spot that you can visit more than once certainly not a one and done like a lot of restaurants that lack service, food, and ambiance/vibe.
