This quality here is truly terrible and I do not have as high expectation for Chinese food in Stamford. It's to the point where I was pulling apart the "Sesame Chicken" to see if it had any hints of being actual chicken. The results were non conclusive, like actually I couldn't find evidence of chicken. The crab rangoons were entirely sour cream cheese with not a twinge of crab flavoring. The sweet and sour chicken also generated non conclusive results in my science experiment. Genuinely the first time in a long time I was unable to finish any dish because I was feeling disgusted. No redeeming dishes. Unsure of what the hell I just ingested but I AM sure that I regret this order. I have a feeling that this place, if investigated, would be doing seriously disgusting stuff for the sake of cutting costs. read more

We used to pick up from here often. The food is always good. We've moved to near the courthouse so we decided to get it delivered. We've ordered delivery 3 different times. Every time it took such a long time to get our food. Tonight was the last straw. It took 2 hours to come. And they forgot the sauces that comes with the dumplings. We ordered 2 orders. We called them and after being transfered to 2 different people theu said they would send the driver back. So we wait....20 minutes later he shows up. Now the food is cold. We called and ordered some food for the office and I said we wanted "an order of spicy shrimp lo mein and a plain order of shrimp lo mein" for delivery and they gave us an order of spicy shrimp lo mein and an order of just plain lo mein (no protein or veggies). I called to let them know about the problem and they said they'd only fix their mistake if we paid the difference, give back the full order of plain lo mein, and pay an extra fee for sending the driver back. I tried to tell them that it wasn't our mistake and I didn't understand why we needed to pay for it, and they were insistent that this was just how it worked. You get the typical dinginess, items, prices and beer you'd expect at any bodega. Except that this bodega is Chinese-run. This is our go-to takeout place in Stamford. The food is way better than your average Chinese restaurant -- their mei fung noodles are the best we've ever had. I always get an extra order of the egg foo young for breakfast the next two days. Portions are large, and the prices are good. I wish I could give the place 3.5 stars, as it's better than a 3, but not quite a 4. Typical Chinese takeout place, but I feel the quality is a bit higher, with very fresh veggies cut more delicately and finely. I had the House Wonton soup, and it was chock full of such veggies, along with about 4 wontons of the usual Stamford variety (massive, thick skin, meat filling), and ample slices of pork, chicken, and even a few shrimp thrown in for good measure. The broth was clear, flavorful and not greasy. They get a big plus for offering brown rice. They also get a big plus for being right next to a convenience store that sells beer and chocolate-covered frozen bananas. The get a minus for their parking lot being so active and filled with cars coming this way and that. Do yourself a favor and park on the street instead. So yes this is your typical Cantonese/Fujianese operated joint. The cooking is not bad, because at least they can do Beef Fat Rice Noodle. I would argue this is better quality than just plain carry out you see at an inner city joint or a rural roadside joint. After all, they have a 20 plus seating in it so it is not all bare bone. Plus their price is reasonable. I called to order carry out and heard another Chinese order being taken so I know other Chinese are sourcing their food there. I asked them if they could cook some Szechuan, they honestly told me no because no American customers ask. So please ask next time so to point to them some improvement. Very unhappy customer. I order from this restaurant for 11 years and order the same food all the time. My son called and order shrimp and broccoli for me and the delivery man brought me chicken and broccoli $8.25 plus tax. I called back the restaurant to let them know they sent the wrong food. The man started yelling at me and said my son ask for chicken and broccoli. I told the man, I heard the whole conversation, because my son had the phone on speaker. The man read back the order correctly but entered the order wrong. I told the man I order the same food all the time. He said yes I know, because I know the address. But your son asked for chicken and broccoli. I told the man how can we fix the order because i don't eat meat. He told me I have to come get the food because he cannot send the driver back because they have to pay for gas. I told the man I cannot get the food because I do not drive and that is why we order delivery. I live on the east side near Cove and the restaurant is on the west side near Stamford hospital. I will never order from this restaurant again. The man was very rude, disrespectful and agruementive. He wouldn't let me talk. He kept talking over me. This is a consistently good place we order this from this place all the time we have tried other places int he area and have found food this good. You can order from seamless however when you do they take forever but if you call them you get much much better service plus all orders 40 get free soda. read more
