General Tso

Good service and the general Tso was good and crispy. They also give big portions which is a great bang for your buck

Combo Fried rice: chicken, shrimp and extra onions.
Azalia S.

I ordered a combo fried rice only chicken and shrimp with extra onions. I received combo fried rice with beef, chicken, and shrimp, extra onions. You may be thinking, a third meat..be grateful (). Red meats (beef and pork) had been removed from my diet 15 years prior. I have no real issue with the food. It's pretty consistent with all other Chinese restaurants. My issue happened when I asked to have the incorrect order back to give to the homeless man who walked along side me. Did he ask for food, No. My heart said bless. The young lady who remade my order said sure, just take it. An elder intervened, approached me to take the food back. Say no, we can't do that. I thought to ask what are you going to do with it... I guess I didn't really want to know the answer so I didn't. I can understand how that may have created unwarranted solicitations but who would have known other than the person needing food and the business owner? I was disappointed by that. I'm always having to address heart issues. LOVE IS THE KEY. As you GIVE, it will be given to you in abundance. Everything isn't about money. With the current state of the world, you may want to be a little kinder.

None of us liked any of the food(me, husbands, kids), and the beverages seemed unappealing(fountain drinks). You also have to pay for parking which isn't worth it for this place at all.We have been to many Chinese fast casual restaurants like this, and this is one of the worst ones. One star off for paying for paying for this type of place, another for the bad food, and another for how everything seemed gross.I also had a dark bone or something in my boneless chicken and my husband thought he saw roaches in his food.

Love me some China master. Been going here since my freshman year of college and you can not beat the price or the quality. Staff is also super nice and down to earth. My favorites are the general tsos and the seasame chicken with lol mein as the side. All of this for like 8 dollars! And believe me you they will slam your to go box full. P.S. they are closed on Sundays

The long hair I pulled out of the food.
Ava M.

I'm sure the food is great but I ordered togo food and saw a little thin curly hair at the lip of the container hoping it was just that-a small short hair that randomly landed there. Nope, it was a long hair that I pulled out of the container. Unfortunately, I'm the type of person that will lose their appetite over hair in food so I wasn't able to eat any of it. Makes me wonder who packs their togo orders and what the restaurant's hygiene protocol is for employees in the kitchen. A total bummer.

Sesame chicken, fried rice, lo mein

Whenever I'm downtown and need a quick convenient lunch spot I like to go to China master. Some really good "mall" Chinese. For price and portion you can't really beat this place. I got a huge serving of sesame chicken, fried rice, and lo mein for $6.59+. I'm always a little leery of fast food Chinese but this place is legit.

Not bad. Delivered to the hotel on time and handled a mixup with grace. I'd order again when in the area.

Food was pretty good although selection was somewhat limited. Prices also seemed to be fair.

Not good at all. Typical dried out steam table food. Noodles were tough and everything was breaded and dry.

We got so many things to start with Coconut water rice cake. Yes it does have the consistency of a sponge cake. It was good! I also got some Panda red bean buns. Cute and also good! For drinks: Sake, Taro bubble milk tea, and a Thai milk tea. We tried Winter Melon and clam soup For my entree I got Chicken with Lotus root which I enjoyed, My husband got crispy intestine . (My husband said he has never had it done that well-clean taste ) I tried it and it was ok. My son got the Szechuan style sautéed brisket and he ate it up ! To go yep we got sautéed pork belly and eggplant, pork, & basil . Both were also good. The waiter worked his bum off and we gave him a good tip. The only complaint were the young boys working up front who weren't friendly and acted like working was killing them. Why I didn't give you a 5! Otherwise you would have deserved it !!! All the food was delicious! Now on to the market - I like this better than the hometown market why they have many things I haven't seen including Jin noodles I have been looking everywhere for!!!! We bought many things to try including cucumber, orange, and what I thought was Mango potato chips. Nope it was abalone ! Not so good but the orange was good Of course Jin noodles , tiramisu mochi, banana milk rice snacks(yum) , tamarind drink, orange pepper spice, and chili crisp Our cashier though was joyless . Would I go back to both ? Yes I would!!

My moo goo gai pan had barely any chicken in it. There were huge chunks of vegetables and it was way too starchy. It was like they were trying to compensate for the lack of protein in it. I haven't ordered from them this year, but I did tonight. Listen the economy is rough for everyone but I paid $15 for this chicken and they used maybe 1/8 of a chicken breast in it. Not cool. Hate to leave the negative review, but I need to warn people that they're using filler food to complete the orders and charging more. What's not cool anywhere these days is paying more and getting way less than just a few years ago. All of us are working hard to earn money and it just feels so disappointing to not get what you pay for, especially when you're paying more than you used to. I don't know who to blame for this. If I wanted a carton of vegetables I would have eaten a frozen bag for $2.50 tonight.

The energy inside was lively, full of students and guests chatting about their days, studying, and bouncing around really. It felt like the heart of UAB campus. After I came back to place my order, I got half lo mein and fried rice with teriyaki chicken as my protein. The lo mein was worth the wait! It was my first time trying the teriyaki chicken and I definitely will be ordering again! The atmosphere made the meal even better, energetic, social, and full of those random, conversations you only hear at the Hill! I noticed the line at Mein Bowl was empty and decided to give it a try and am so glad I did! I got orange chicken, white rice, and some crab rangoons. The staff was so kind and welcoming. I had a few questions and needed some recommendations and the chef was so informative and nice. I definitely will be stopping by Mein Bowl again hoping to try their sushi next time, I cannot believe I never thought to go there in the first place!
