I went to China kitchen for lunch and I ordered the shrimp with broccoli and white rice and I must say that the food was really good except the fact that the broccoli is hard side, you get a lot of shrimp compared to other restaurants that location is nice, the service is ok... read more

This was like something out of a movie we cannot believe it. It was Christmas and things have been very hectic due to my mom being in a rehab fighting cancer. so my boyfriend didn't want me to have to cook and clean and all that since we had gone out to a fancy dinner the night before he said why don't we just get Chinese food? I basically never say no to Chinese food so we knew that we had to pass this one on the way back to our house. OK, so let's start with the fact that there was numerous people in there who apparently got all the wrong orders or orders weren't ready. My boyfriend waited patiently for our food, and I don't know what was going on in there, but apparently the older woman that works there was screaming at one of the employees while holding a knife in her hands. Just very strange we got the food home after waiting probably about 20 minutes and we had to throw the shrimp right in the garbage. It was disgusting. It was not cooked, but not raw and it smells rotten. The veggie fried rice was a huge letdown. It was just all grease. It had no flavor other than salt Don't waste your time or energy here. There are so many great Chinese restaurants don't even bother going to this one. read more

Super hot food and comes out fresh every time!! My daughter told us about this place and it's not close by but willing to drive here.

My coworker kept saying he always hears good things about this place so we finally tried them for lunch today. Nothing fancy upon entering, little Chinese food spot, I'm not sure why but it was freezing inside on a chilly fall/winter day. I ordered the chicken and broccoli lunch special, at first look I thought maybe this is going to suck because the sauce look reddish and I've never seen that on chicken and broccoli but it was pretty good and tasted normal/fine. The combo also comes with an egg roll or soda..that's old school Chinese spot stuff, I like that because a lot will give you a soup nowadays regardless egg roll was ok too. At the end of the day it's probably the best, new Chinese food spot I've had in years and would give it 3.5, would eat again and will be back eventually! read more

best string beans anywhere! sauce on the happy family is delicious and the broccoli is cooked just right. soups and egg rolls are delicious. The staff are always friendly and the wait times are between 10 and 15 minutes. read more

Have tried food and is delicious. The Chicken and Broccoli is magnificent and the soups are to die for. I highly recommend the soups and lo mein since it tastes incredible read more

Far below average, chicken wing's terrible! Mediocre and very boldishly expensive. If it were great tasting ok but far below average. Steer clear! I don't know how they are still in business. read more

This place is awesome. Know why? It doesn't have those weird crunchy Lo Mein impostors! Seriously. It's hard to find a place that doesn't have them. I can't stand them. You know what I'm talking about? You bite into soft noodles and then there's some..thing... I don't even know what it's called. Gross in my opinion. Sooo... I got a Shrimp Lo Mein combo (pork fried rice & vegetable roll). The roll was bigger/longer than most places. There was a lot of shrimp in my lo mein (with no imposters) and they gave us 4 fortune cookies. My fortune was: "Could I get some directions? ("To where?") To your heart." For this reason alone China Kitchen will be my go to spot for Chinese takeout in the Wayne area. China Kitchen is the best Chinese I've had in a while, and there was so much food in the combo it took me 3 days to eat. I also learned I am a lucky Rabbit, my opposite is the Cock......, and I should marry a Boar (doesn't sound right)... haha yeaahhh read more

China Kitchen - a piece of paper that says could i get some directions? to where to you heart - Chinese Near Me - Wayne, New Jersey

Has the misfortune of being stuck in Wayne during a terrible snowy noreaster and the roads were impassible. Thankfully, I was allowed to hang out in the restaurant for a few hours. Sadly, Noisy kids, blaring TV, dirty bathroom with barely enough soap made the experience worse . Hospitality needs to be worked on. Wish I could have had a chance to taste the food, but they wouldn't take my credit card for anything less than 7 bucks and sadly, I only had $5 on my debit card the day before payday. Then they fed there kids right in front of me. On the plus side, they let me use a phone charger. Best part was when some douche came in and started to talk about how only money talks and that you have to earn what you get, which was heartily agreed to by the cashier. I'm thinking, I've been here for 3 hours and I'm starving...guess a stranger doesn't deserve a bowl of hot soup during a snow storm. read more

Solid local Chinese food. We've been going for years and they are fast, tasty and reasonable priced.

Best Chinese food in Wayne. Family owned, always extremely clean. Great service, we always take out. All the classics and always fresh and delicious. I have lived in Wayne for 25 years, and the go to Chinese has always been China Paradise (now closed) and China Kitchen. Wonton Soup, Chicken Wings, Egg roles, spare ribs........ the food is excellent. Always know what to expect here... Thank you China Kitchen! read more

I was very unsatisfied with my food. We were disappointed with 2 of our chicken entrees ordered. The chicken was poor quality, a little fishy, and almost translucent, and gelatinous read more

I ordered Chicken and vegetables lunch special. The chicken was gelatinous and the little corn in the dish was sour. The fried rice is nothing more than colored white rice . The crunchy noodles were stale. I will not be ordering from here again. read more

This is your typical Chinese take out restaurant. They have all the classics: chicken and rice, sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, chicken lo mein, etc. it's really not bad, but not super excellent either. We come here pretty often. Prices are fair too in my opinion, and there's free parking right in front! read more

All I can say everything I've had there is pretty good but I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and all I can say is never again. Not the traditional taste you would expect and not spicy at all. Very dry chicken. read more

Got food poisoning from the Spare Ribs. Never again. Also the girl at the front is pretty rude.

I had lunch from here again today. Very fast delivery. I eat here one to two times a week and definitely recommend them for Chinese food. The house special soup is very good. read more

Good place for a reasonably priced Chinese dinner. Small sitting area if you'd like to eat in, But almost all their business is take out.

Will do for Chinese Food BUT order an hour ahead on weekend.

Going to keep it nice and simple, came here for lunch expecting the same old take out but man the noodles were fresh and I destroyed the meal in about five min. Tops...came out to a little more than actual places around me in my city(jersey city) for a small lo mein with rice..even with the less portion sizes I didn't care as long as it wasn't real bad! Wonton soup was the typical soup you get at most take-out spots. The wontons themselves had a solid wrapper and didn't fall apart. I don't believe they add any greens to the soup, just some shreds of pork and a few scallions. Pork fried rice was tasty, if a bit dry. There was a good amount of roast pork mixed in. I have to knock a star for the General Tso's chicken. The sauce was just a syrupy gloppy mess. Overly sweet and not spicy at all. And worst of all, the chicken was overly battered and doughy. I remember the chicken being better years back. read more

So disappointing to order food that doesn't even show the ingredients that should be in it such as shrimp. Food was bland and not good at all. This place makes me miss China Paradise even more! read more

Ive been eating here for years and the new owners are just as nice as the previous. Food is made with quality ingredients and I'll only order from them read more

Masters of deception ! At first glance, our Moo Goo Gai Pan combination take-out tray looked like it was a little less than 50% Moo Goo Gai Pan, and the rest was fried rice. Probably about average for most Chinese take-out combination dishes. But things are usually not as they appear, especially at China Kitchen in Wayne. The vegetables and chicken portion of the combo turned out to be only a thin veneer that was hiding a layer of rice. So, around 75% of the combo was actually rice. Sneaky, sneaky. And, at a bit more than nine bucks for the combo, you'd think they wouldn't have to add the big chunks of carrots to further cheapen the dish. We don't even think Moo Goo Gai Pan is normally made with carrots. This is obsessive and self-defeating frugality on their part. To complete the value proposition, the egg roll was closer to the size of a spring roll than a normal egg roll. So, we fully expect to see yet another vacant storefront in this former A&P shopping center, where the A&P has been closed for the past few years, only to be joined by several other failed businesses. What a pity. read more

Ordered vegetable Omani, when I got home 3 4 pieces of brocali sliver of carrot an green bean, dissapoointing to say least2

I ordered Coconut chicken to go. While I was waiting for the order I asked to use the restroom. HUGE MISTAKE. It was very obvious up keep on the restrooms is not a priority. Urine left on seat, toilet looks as if it has never been cleaned once. FINALLY get food, opened container in parking lot to eat a few bites before traveling and it felt as if it was ice cold. Sauce was all over the underside of the container and zero napkins were provided. Food ended up being icecold, flavorless and mess. After one bite of what tasted like mayo drenched chicken I threw food away and left. Not wasting my time asking them to do over $13 gross food. WILL NOT ever return. read more

I was looking for a new place in my area with good food! I found it. Was tired of the same old places. Finally I remembered this place which for years I had overlooked. Glad I ordered tonight. Ordered crab ragoon. Most of time is very oily and greasy. To our surprise they were not at all. Very tasteful. Fried dumplings were some of the best I have ever had. Meat was delish inside and had a very large quantity. Wonton soup was a hit. We both orders the sesame chicken with chicken fried rice. Best we have ever had. Very healthy tasting, non oily or greasy. Chicken was very good , not chewy. Almost like chicken breast. No fat. Rice was great and they have many types of rice they will prepare for you. I can't wait to try more . Don't over look it. Had nothing bad to say! read more

Best takeout ever ! My favorite Chinese place!!!! Quick & fresh - no other Chinese takeout compares ! They expanded and now you can sit inside! read more

I've been going here for as long as I can remember (15 years+). It was always the best Chinese food and no other place could compare. They knew us immediately when we'd call in an order and we were on a first name basis with the owner. They recently changed owners and the food went WAY downhill. Their General Tzo's Chicken is now clearly made from frozen breaded chicken tenders topped with a mediocre sauce. In speaking with the previous owner, he advised the new owner not to change anything or he would lose business (because of how picky the Wayne crowd is). He should have listened! Come back Tony! Update 5/18/13: ordered from here tonight because it's so close to me. They wayyy over charged me for my food and were rude when I questioned it. Also, my stomach feels disgusting right now, might as well have just drank a cup full of grease. Will not be back. read more

Very poor service, over charge. I ordered by to pick up on my way home. They did not give me the complete order. I find out when I got home. I called them that I was missing a large Wanton Soup the guy was arguing with me until I said that I was going to report it then he changed the tone of his voice and said that we did not charge for the wanton soup. He charged $ 29.55 for 1 hot and sour soup large, 1 noodle soup with very few vegetables, 1 small broccoli with chicken and 1 large broccoli with chicken. The soup was not that good. The same order at the chinese restaurant in Lincoln Park Shop Rite Mall cost $25.00 read more

I think this place got taken over by new owners within the last 6 months. I used to really love the food here, and would drive out of my way, but no more. This is mainly a takeout restaurant. I'd been going here for over 10 years and it completely went downhill. The wonton soup was horrible, I had to throw it out. The couple of dishes I took out (steamed chicken with vegetable and chicken curry) were lousy as well. I do NOT recommend this restaurant and no longer eat here. read more

I haven't been here in a while and I remember my favorite was Vegetable Chow Mei Fun. The order I had today had no flavor. I had a hard time finishing it and I was very hungry. Definitely a disappointment. If will be a very long time if I ever go back, sorry to say. read more

Definitely not service with a smile! Our order was missing an egg roll but that is ok...the one we had was so greasy! The General Tso had undercooked chicken, did not even taste like General Tso, was not spicy and the fried rice was very greasy. We had not gone back here for years because of their unfriendly service.....now we won't go back for that AND their inedible food. read more

Seriously, this place is the Worst. It's like an abusive husband that you keep going back to. Food is actually not bad, which is it's only saving grace. The service is the suck. Horrible. How many times can you screw up a single order??? (I felt like I was on a hidden camera show.) When you don't really care about your customers... a lot. And everytime I go the place is buzzing. Will probably be back next week. :-( read more

I can't tell how the food taste because they never delivered it. Waiting a hour and half.

This place used to have the best Chinese food in the area until they changed owners about a year ago. The food is now horrible with cheap, questionable ingredients (I highly doubt that was chicken in my General Tso's). Pretty sad as my family and I have been eating from China Kitchen for the past 20 years or so. Looks like we'll have to find a new place... STAY FAR, FAR AWAY read more
