I'm actually here on business in Washington, MO and the reviews for China King near there were horrendous. So, I drove 7 miles here to see if the people were telling the truth and yes indeed they were. Man oh man, this is the real deal Holyfield here. I ordered my fav curry chicken, house rice and wonton soup and can I tell you, they did not disappoint. I'm almost afraid to admit this but their food tastes a lil bit better than the restaurant in New Orleans where I go. The flavors are popping, the heat is just right, spice wise and the temperature is spot on. I can tell it was made fresh indeed. Chile, now this is a true hidden gem in the plateaus if there ever were one. I will say this, they were skimpy in the shrimp in my rice but it' cool, I get all the shrimp I want in Louisiana. Highly recommend!!!

We looked for a place to scratch my Chinese buffet itch [had a chance for solo trip while she shopped...closed]. It would do us no good to wait until we got home. The Asian cuisine scene is a bit marginal in and around the town we retired to. This one had good ratings, and an interestingly simple name. That's a story for another time as well. It is a small place, it was clean, the owners were engaging. The food is average. While there seems to be a broad variety of offers it is mostly chicken and imitation crab. The taste is a bit lost in the same general taste profile, salt and sweet. This is a good average place to go for a buffet lunch at a reasonable price. It is popular with the locals.

My best guess of what did the damage is a fish bone, despite having No Fish on my plate. But I picked a scale out of my teeth. I won't be back, and if you do go, chew thoroughly and never remove your eyes from the food.

Usually these mediocre Chinese buffets have decent soup at least. The hot and sour soup was nasty, almost made me choke from the chili pepper seeds and sour aftertaste. The selection is so limited. What is meatloaf doing on the trays? The hibachi had some of the toughest beef I've ever eaten and there was some eggshell left in the mix, not good. I wasn't brave enough to eat the piece of tuna sushi which looked more like a slice of roast beef than anything that should be served raw. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

I also ordered the Pork Mongolian, and unfortunately, it was mostly onions with very little pork. I was expecting a better balance of meat and vegetables. Another issue was the menu. There aren't really combination options, and the menu is a little difficult to navigate, making it hard to know what to order or what comes with each dish. The food wasn't terrible, but there are definitely some areas that could be improved, especially the portion balance, vegetable preparation, and menu options.
