My wife wasn't feeling well and wanted to get some Chinese food. After boycotting this business due to previous issues. I was hesitant. It was late and she was hungry so I gave them another try. Lucky for her and me the issues from before did not occur and she was very happy which made me very happy. These are nice people running a local pretty darn respectable, restaurant. Restaurants in general have been getting hammered since Covid. If you think it's far in the past just ask any of them. The food is good, sometimes better occasionally better than good. And frankly for Derby it's a pleasure to be able to support them again. read more

Great food......literally the slowest service in town. Typically told 20 minutes.......typically have wait another 20-30 minutes at the store for a total of close one hour. Better to order an hour in advance because they are NEVER on time, but the food is delicious and still worth the frustrating wait. read more

Called to order takeout, quick friendly service. The place seemed clean in the waiting area. We ordered sesame chicken and sweet & sour chicken. Both were still hot by the time we got home. The egg rolls are pretty decent also. Will order take out again! read more

Happy New Year! Chinese food on New Year is a family tradition and every year we head to China King in Derby. Their staff is super friendly and very efficient. When I went in this last time I noticed they got a facelift. New menu board overhead. They cleaned dup all the boxes and "stuff" they had in the dining area. The lady that works the phone and counter is always so happy to see me that I LOVE coming in here. It's so nice that they appreciate their customers the way they do. I grew up in the town of Evans and grew up eating this food. It is still to this day the beat Chinese food Ive ever had. Ive lived in PA and now NC and have yet to find anything comparable. The General Tso chicken is excellent, its sauce is incredible. They have excellent customer service, good prices and no one has better food. If you are in town and want Chinese go here! read more

I made a Yelp account specifically to review this restaurant. The outside of the establishment was unkept and the inside was not any better. Sporting many colorful magazine cut-outs of a single, repeated baby on the walls went well with their faded blue-grey "specials" menu. Apart from ascetics what makes a restaurant is their food, in the case of China King Restaurant the food is what breaks the experience. Overcooked Lo Mein, undercooked Beef and Broccoli, and strangely chilled Fried Rice was nearly expected upon visual inspection. Apart from the inedible food, it was also expensive. I would only recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy, which in this case is the staff at China King Restaurant. read more
