I do tend to come here because of the easy location comparison to my house. The food is decent and my kids do enjoy the flavors. The service is quick and when I call to order they pick up to get the order quickly. The restaurant is pretty clean, but they tend to have stuff out all over the dining area. I feel like they over sauce most of the dishes. My favorite is the chicken lomein for the kids along with the wonton soup. My husband enjoys the chicken and broccoli. read more

Love love love their Crab Rangoon, vegetable lo mein and orange chicken. And will continue to go here because my family loves these dishes however, their fried rice is not nearly as good as the other two Chinese restaurants located in Hamburg. My only other complaint is I was told that my order would be ready in 20 minutes and when I arrive in 20 minutes, I've ended up waiting for an additional 10 to 20 minutes. This is happened the last three times I have ordered takeout from New Dragon. Please - if my order is going to take 40 minutes just tell me that. I would rather wait at home than in your restaurant for 20 minutes. read more

So, this is 100% a takeout joint, with good Chinese. Trust me, you don't want to eat in the restaurant, but pickup is fine. I get the beef with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and lo mein for our family. They always place our larger order in a recycled box from the liquor store next door, and it's appreciated. The employee behind the counter isn't the most friendly person I've met, but they're busy pumping out lots of orders. read more

For the third time we ordered from New Dragon. The first was a pleasure. The lemon chicken was perfect. The second order of Lemon chicken was not great and picking up the third order at about 8:29 pm we were shocked to get what was definitely pre cooked lemon chicken and just heated up. Very disappointed in this restaurant was a frequent customer until today when I placed an order and had my daughter pick it up when she finished work. I got a call from the restaurant saying they gave the wrong order to my daughter and asked if she could bring it back she called me again because apparently my daughter wasn't driving fast enough back to the restaurant and the person that the order was supposed to go to was getting impatient waiting at the restaurant for the order that was given wrongly to my daughter. When my daughter got to the restaurant the owner who initially had been preoccupied talking in a different language on the phone and to someone in the kitchen when she gave my daughter the wrong order so when my daughter got back with the order she met her outside was rude to my daughter and when my daughter was getting our order and saying that she wished she had checked the order before giving it to her because she had to drive all the way back to get it the woman was very nasty and told my daughter to get out of the restaurant she didn't wanna make a scene in front of the other customer that she screwed up also for giving us his order. Tell a 17-year-old girl to get out of the restaurant so that she didn't make them look bad is beyond horrible I will never go back to this restaurant and I suggest you think twice before going again also this woman is always rude and nasty always yelling at her children who are working there for her and very rude to the customers. Trash! Attempted to place a wildly basic order: Wonton Soup, Gen. Tsao's Chicken, Sw n Sr Chk, Egg Rolls,, Fried Dumplings.... not a single piece of food was edible. Raw chicken, uncooked rice, Dumpling were something to the effect of fried dough??? When I called to be refunded and more than willing to return the biohazard I spent nearly $50.00 on, they started yelling/blaming doordash saying they couldnt refund my money?? I had the general tso chicken and it was as good as any other Chinese takeout restaurant. I found the crab Rangoon to also be average compared to other restaurants. Overall I enjoyed my meal and would eat at New Dragon again. read more

This is a good takeout restaurant... The food is good and fairly priced. The inside of the restaurant is not nice, but to me it's the food that matters and my food has always been cooked fresh, hot and one of the best small Chinese fast food places I've had. The staff aren't very friendly, but they do take care in getting your food to go nicely. read more

We have been doing business at this location for a good period of time. Today we decided to do the lunch special. My wife ordered the shrimp with broccoli and I ordered the chicken and shrimp combo we both got the wonton soup and fried rice. I also ordered two pork egg rolls. We brought the food home and put it on plates and we're eating our lunch. My wife discovered a hair when she bit into her egg roll. It appeared to have been wrapped around the egg roll. In today's day and age having to wear a mask going in places to order food for pick up you have to be careful where you go. With Corona virus and all of the other things that are going on you can never be too cautious. My wife was not only disgusted but very worried because when she bit into the food and saw the hair she was scared that a hair in her mouth could cause her to get Corona virus especially if they were asymptomatic. My wife called the restaurant to tell the lady what happened. She said that she would replace the food. Why would I want to replace food that had a hair in it with something that could possibly be even worse depending on what they decided to do to it. When I took the food back the woman at the counter tried to say she was only going to refund the money for one egg roll. I explained the food had already been put on a plate and the egg roll with hair was on the plate with all the other food. I told her I needed my entire order refunded and put the food on the counter. About that time a gentleman from the back came out to the counter as well. They started talking in Chinese in a very loud tone of voice as she was ringing up the refund on the register. I don't speak Chinese but I could tell by the hostility in their voices They were not saying nice things. She threw the refund receipt on the counter. When I picked it up she pointed towards the door and they continued to say things in Chinese very loudly. I think they could have handled this situation in a more professional manner especially when they serve the public. What a shame I really liked that place. Not sure if I'll ever do business here again. More than likely not because I don't like to be talked to in that manner. The sad thing is that I'm required to put one star on here because it's a required piece to submit the review They should have a negative star review. So I could give them a negative 5. read more

After dealing with the disappointment of losing a very good Chinese restaurant when Ginger and Garlic changed hands, we decided that it was time to find a new place to satisfy our Asian cravings. New Dragon has been at their location in the Hamburg Village Shopping center for years, but we've never stopped there before. That changed this week. As others have said, the interior is bare...basic tables and chairs. It might be an okay place to stop for a quick lunch, but it's definitely not a destination. We ordered a number of takeout items, as we had a group of our daughters' friends at our house that evening....mostly the usual fare that's common to any US-based Chinese restaurant...kung pao, moo-shoo, fried rice, happy family, etc. The first thing I noticed was that the fried rice was not really fried rice as I've come to know it. It was white rice, slightly yellowed with only a few bits of pork and onions in it. The other items were very salty...there might have been some authentic seasonings in those dishes, but you certainly couldn't taste them because the saltiness was so overpowering. The fried dumplings were good, but that was the only complimentary thing I can say about the meal. Finally, it's a good thing that we had our own supply of soy sauce and other Chinese condiments at home, because they supplied nothing with our order, except for fortune cookies. Was traveling to the Buffalo area and was sent here by a local bartender. I was very pleased. The menu was pretty standard Chinese American food, but I found it to be outstanding. I had shrimp egg foo young and they cooked it perfectly. Sometimes the egg is way over cooked. I also had egg drop soup which was also well done! New Dragon is exactly a neighborhood takeout Chinese food establishment. As far as the food we had, I would say it does a good job at being that; no more and no less. They were open Christmas Day and we ordered a selection of standard takeout lunch specials at dirt cheap prices. Everything was perfectly acceptable versions of Americanized Chinese standards and if we were in the need for quick and cheap dinners again I wouldn't hesitate to go back. read more
