Situated in one of Deltona's busiest areas, it seems China King played it smart by having a young American female answering the phones and handling the front counter. Nothing against the wonderful Asian population, but often times it's difficult to understand them when I call into Chinese take-out spots. With that said, my order was placed with ease and my food was already waiting for me on the counter when I arrived. That's what I call good service! My order of beef Lo Mein and combination special of sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice was surprisingly good. The food was reminiscent of New York style Chinese takeout so I must say I was taken a back. The Lo Mein tasted good but I will say it had a lot of sauce and was slightly softer than I prefer. The sweet and sour chicken was typical of anywhere but the pork fried rice had a smoked flavor to it which gave it a nice touch. You could really taste that hot fired-up wok! The only negative I would say about this first experience was that the egg roll was not fresh and seemed fried twice yet still more mushy than crispy. I'm interested in trying other menu items but I should pace myself because healthy eating isn't a synonym for Chinese take out. read more

It's not much, but it's something! This has been my family in-law's go to Chinese place whenever we want something fast and an abundance in. Their portions are huge, and you'll have enough for the whole family (of 5). Just order the large portions. Their prices are standard for Chinese food. I recommend placing an order over the phone, and they usually take less than 20 minutes to complete the order. A lot of foot traffic coming in and out. The only thing worries me is the cleanliness... it looks run down inside so I can't imagine the kitchen. read more

I stopped in to grab some food. This is not my usual Chinese restaurant but I am here. As I walked up I noticed the front door and windows are filthy. As I walked in I noticed the dirt on the containers hanging behind the counter on the wall. The walls and mirrors on the walls are covered on dirty hand prints and smudges too. The last thing for me was the dead cock roach on the floor. As you walk in look to the left by the last table near the chewed up wood work. Also you cannot see the kitchen in this restaurant. Just your typical strip mall Chinese - quick and cheap. The food is okay. We ordered a Pupu platter and chicken with broccoli. I enjoyed the fried shrimps and the egg rolls, but the skewered beef, ribs and wings were dried and bland. The chicken with broccoli was a lot better. But it was still not great. The General Tsos Chicken was "Chickenless". I order this one dish that's my All Time favorite from any Chinese Restaurant I go too. Unfortunately, this location serves fried dough balls without chicken in their General Tso's dish. I was appalled to say the least but too tired to fight over an $9 meal. How has this place not been coded over the apparent code violations. There are always two young children in there, the owner's I guess, running around in front of the counter, behind the counter, in and out of the front door, and inside the customer's drink machine and touching all of the soda cans. One of them was coughing and then played with the sodas. Then there is always a lady from the mobile store in there who sits around and cusses with the girl behind the counter. We come back because the food is good. Something needs to be done about the service though I would recommend getting it to go if your house is close. The food is really good! read more

DELICIOUS New York style Chinese food with generous portions. The inside even feels like a traditional NYC Chinese joint. Beautifully priced lunch special with lots of choices, and of course comes with a can of soda, just like the bicycle deliveries in NYC! We ordered a large variety of food for everyone tonight. The food was aweful! The meat was hard, tough and mostly huge pieces of onion in one dish and broc. and other stuff in the pork dish. Not much meat. The red sauce for the sweet and sour chicken is not good at all. The shrimp in lobster sauce well that sauce is nothing I have ever seen and is absolutely terrible! 6 of us ate and most of us threw away the plates after first few bites. We chose this place because of the 5 stars and great reviews (only 3 but they were glowing with praise). Hmmm, where to start, first impression was that it needed some cleaning and sprucing up but it wasn't terrible. There were tables and chairs for dining in but no waitress so you order at the counter...still okay. Then it really went downhill, when our food was ready we got it in paper and plastic carry out containers with plastic utensils all piled into a recycled cardboard box. Our drinks were in the can or plastic bottle...no glasses, no ice and obviously no refills. Really, come on people this is Florida! The food to say the least was merely edible, hot and sour soup was hot and sour but otherwise flavorless despite there being a nice amount of fresh mushrooms, tofu, and egg, my house special noodles lacked any flavor except soy sauce. My husband had the Szechuan pork with pork fried rice. The Szechuan pork was okay but not anything special and the pork fried rice was as tasteless as all the other food. Krab (their spelling)Rangoon tasted like the frying oil was old. I didn't even bother to ask about a bathroom because I'd have had to wade through empty boxes to get to the back area. Ordered for the first time based on other reviews. Food is very flavorful and so much better than any of the Chinese food in the Lake Mary/Sanford area.
