I ordered General Tso Combination, Beef Lo mein and Boneless Spare Ribs. Everything tasted off. The chicken and beef tasted weird. The rice was gray. Boneless Ribs were leaking grease all over and mostly fat. I was hoping to get 2-3 meals out of this and it was so bad I threw it away after just a few bites of everything. The cheesesteak roll was fried very hard (probably twice) and it did NOT have any cheese whatsoever inside of it - it was super hard and dry inside. $20 WASTED! My go-to is sweet and sour chicken, and before this place I had actually lost hope in finding a place that could make it the way I had it over in Jersey. And then one day... I tend to have my favorite dishes that I get most of the time but anytime I've experimented with dished on the menu I've been very satisfied with the meal. White meat General Tso Chicken is outstanding. It is actually real white meat and a tangy sauce that isn't overly syrupy and sweet. They also offer the option of brown rice for those who are thinking more healthy. The portions are as large as the plastic containers can possibly hold! This also is true for their Lo Mein and Fried Rice which are not bland but also not over loaded with MSG and Soy Sauce. Shrimp w/ Garlic Sauce is my other favorite entree. There are always a lot of shrimp that are BIG and fresh. It also has water chestnuts, carrots, snow pea pods and other Chinese veggies in a spicy garlicy brown sauce. Homemade duck sauce is a little touch that separates them from other places as well. Aside from their food is their top notch customer service. I had a great experience where I didn't order what I thought I did. The General Tso's I ordered was the standard NON White Meat Chicken (which admittedly isn't very good... but none that aren't white meat are very good.). I called to let them know that I loved the shrimp but the chicken, not so much. Next thing I know they delivered the replacement meal free of charge. With Chinese take out all over, I never stray from China House's quality food and exceptional service. China House opened today since the Covid 19 shut down. They sent ME a text (oh as well as the rest of Delco). I ordered my food at 5:30pm via phone call. Drove by at 6:00 and there were about 10 people outside. Went to CVS, came back and now 15 people outside. I am a sympathetic person. Look for positive in every negitive. 7:30 pm comes and yup, I'm still standing outside with many people. Only 1 guy was totally unreasonable arguing with another guy who walked up. Gave the guy who walked up crap because the guy was gonna walk inside to check in. Other guy yells there's a line. There was no line, we were all lost and standing around. Some complained and said they should have been prepared. I said, the Asian people have been getting a lot of crap over Covid (totally wrong to do, its not their fault) maybe they thought people wouldn't come. People agreed. The employees were working like crazy to make the food. Yes, it was a very long wait. I got my food 2 hours and 15 min after I ordered. The employees should have stopped taking ordered BUT how do you stop online orders? Don't think you can? I spoke to a few people who agreed, in 3rd world counties, they'd love to only have to wait 2 hours for food. We are very fortunate in the USA. During the Spanish Flu they didn't have walk up Chinese Take Out. Again, we are lucky and need to learn to be patient with unknown situations, we're all in this together. I was very pleased to see ALL who were waiting had masks on. It was warm but when the sun went down, there was a cool breeze. They offer generous portions, and fair pricing. They deliver quickly. The fried crab sticks is some of the best seafood I've ever had in my life. We ordered the Chicken with cashew nuts and the Kung Pow Chicken and both looked like essentially the same dish with some peppers added to the Kung pow. Both of which were so ridiculously salty I could barely taste anything else. We also got hot and sour soup which is very bland and neither hot nor sour. I tried the wonton soup as well and i couldn't taste anything! I don't know if it was the overpowering salt still left in my mouth or if it really is tasteless. What a delightful surprise China House turned out to be. We got a flyer in the mail and decided to try delivery. The beef with string beans and the shrimp with mushrooms were tasty, satisfying, the protein ingredients were tender and the veggies were tender-crisp. A big surprise was the quality of the pork fried rice - way better than what we've been getting from the closest Chinese take out to where we live. There was no hint of greasiness in any of the food. The wontons in wonton soup were large and tasty. And the eggroll I had was what an eggroll should be - crispy, savory, with no greasiness at all. I'm going to give this place 1 1/2 stars. I usually don't review places like this, but I had to for this place. Ordered here today for lunch online. I appreciate that you can order online. That is really innovative for a Chinese take-out restaurant, BUT I wish it would have given me an estimated time of delivery. Here are the problems I encountered: 1. It took an HOUR to receive my food. I think that's a little outside the acceptable time table for lunch delivery. 2. All the food was greasy. Yes, it tasted good, but the crab rangoon and egg rolls were DRIPPING with grease. The pork fried rice was also fried with too much oil. Everything was slippery! 3. Our order was over $15 so I added a free soda to the order. I specifically asked the young delivery man if my soda was in there. And he said yes. It wasn't. Poo. 4. Lunch special ratio of fried rice to entree was highly disproportionate towards the rice. The pork did taste good and had a nice variety of vegetables with it. 5. I specially asked for extra duck sauce and soy sauce. And was given 2 of each, for lunch for 3 people. My fiancee and I are from the Washington D.C. area, where take out is VERY popular and the food has a distinctive taste and way of being cooked and served, which never disappoints. China house comes extremely close to our style/taste of food and most importantly, great customer service! Prices are a bit higher than at home, but still reasonable, and WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY! We've been up here twice to visit, where we stay close to the airport, which China house is just a hop skip and jump away from. Very convenient for locals and travelers alike. We've had the usual fanfare stuff - The ribs (REALLY awesome - very sweet & tender)!-the egg rolls - better than most b.t.w., shrimp-toast, The Won-Ton Soup (fantastic! -best we've EVER had-& yes- there IS a difference)! not loaded w/ salt!-unless u ask-ALSO fantastic! To be honest, my husband had the Gen.Tso's chicken & said it wasn't the best (reminded him of popcorn chicken - which is why I liked it).But that was the ONLY thing he wasn't crazy about.Just had the "Moo-Shu-Shrimp"-absolutely LOVED IT! Shrimp cooked perfectly.Didn't have enough 'pancakes' to make, but, NO matter, as it was SUPER good on its OWN &so just mix it w/the rice they give you, & throw a bit of SRIRACHA sauce in there if you wish.
