They offer jumbo shrimp already deveined (but frozen instead of the fresh ones on the display ice), which is super convenient for times I do not want to devein the shrimp myself. The shrimp is easy to cook over a boil and great with cocktail sauce that they also sell at Peter's Fish Market. The salmon is also super fresh and we were told that we can eat the salmon raw like sashimi! Since then, we've been making our own salmon hand rolls and sushi rolls at home. The seabass is also so amazing to eat. We recently decided to try oyster and we were unlucky with one not being fresh, but everything else was great. We always have a great time with the seafood we buy.

For 30 years straight, the fish came from one place only: Peter's Seafood in Midland Park. But tonight, what's on my mind isn't Yelp or fish markets. It's my neighbor Pete. He was my best friend here -- a guy who could spin stories about New York in the 1950s like he was giving you a private tour. Sometimes he'd get a "Woolley" (that's Italian for craving) for lobster or clams. I'd drive north to Peter's, haul it back to Monroe, and we'd make a night of it: good food, better conversation.
