I've been coming here since they first opened, and they still make excellent food. I've ordered from many different places here in the city, and I've had countless times where refried food seemed to be common. Thankfully, China express is consistent in their quality. I probably order here once or twice in a couple months, and I have not had any issues. I also have family members who have made this place their go-to. Portions are filling, and pricing is reasonable. A true delight to order from here on a Friday night. read more

This is the perfect spot for great take-out Chinese (especially on our newly founded "Take-out Thursday"). I stopped by on a whim this evening after an unintentional China Express hiatus. I ordered at the counter and had my order in under 5 minutes. Their chicken chow mein is one of my favorites in Fall River. It is the brown gravy we know and love in here, but this one is almost black. It is delicious and goes perfect over the crunchy noodles. Their fried rice is delicious as well. Didn't check if it's still the case, but they used to have 25% off on take-out orders on Mondays and Tuesdays. This is mostly delivery and take-out only, but there is one table there that could be used to eat your take-out if you are so inclined. We'll be back soon I'm sure! read more

We are never disappointed with the quality, speed of delivery or ordering process. It's one of those places that you know what to expect.

Their food is just sub par, and their prices are much higher than other better Chinese restaurants in the city. I ordered 1 egg roll and an order of white rice and ended up paying about 10 dollars. That is theft when most places in the city charge 2 bucks for some white rice and around 3 dollars or less for a single egg roll. Do yourself a favor and don't bother. This place is filthy. The hood over the cooking line has greasicles hanging down over the woks, fryer, and the precooked fried rice. The length of the greasicles takes years to form. Where are the local inspectors? Not only is this a health code violation, it's a fire safety violation. The cooks wear street clothes and no aprons and of the cooks where hats or hair nets. The entrance floor is dirty and cluttered with empty boxes and boxes of paper supplies. Having worked in the restaurant industry for 50 years I've never seen conditions this bad. After my order, she reached into the freezer without gloves for the egg roll I ordered and threw it into the fryer basket. we have been ordering here for a while and the food was always great... until recently. The last order they forgot the chow mein noodles, but sent the sauce. This time the chow mein was premixed and was like paste. Grease was dripping out of the eggrolls so they were not edible. I called and the woman was a bit snappy and said they would give me 10% off my next order. it was a $100 order and half of it went in the trash. I've had just about everything on this menu. It's prepared usually well. I am discouraged from ordering chicken dishes that use the chicken fingers as that's not cooking. Prices are very affordable. The low rating is more due to the menu being a cookie cutter Chinese menu. There's nothing, menu item wise, that separates it from another Chinese-American restaurant. China is a big country with cooking styles that change drastically by region. It's sad that Americans want chicken fingers when there is so much more to explore and experience from China. If there was a secret or secondary authentic Chinese menu, I would improve the rating. read more

Favorite in the area!! I moved to the Fall River area somewhat recently and after trying numerous Chinese places (there are a bunch around here), China Express is my go-to for American-Chinese. The food is always ready in 10-15 min or less. I typically place small orders but recently placed a large order that was ready in 15 min, fresh, correct, and delicious! Only once have I been accidentally given a wrong item (a pork egg roll I didn't order)....which was so tasty it's now become a staple whenever I place an order. We have found our go to Chinese food spot. We just ordered online and we got the C15 combo dinner (shrimp and lobster sauce with fried rice and a egg roll) orange chicken and crab rangoons. The shrimp and lobster sauce are really good. My boyfriend was very impressed with his orange chicken. Crab rangoons were just the way I like, they are not as stuffed as some other places which I prefer. The most impressive part was how fast it was delivered and the kind man who delivered it. Were out in somerset and our food was delivered in about 25 minutes. We will def be ordering again from here next time we're in the mood for good chinese food. read more

OK for take out. Staff is very friendly. Chicken and broccoli is always excellent. Chicken fingers have no taste. The fried rice can be hit or miss. Best fried wontons in the city. My husband and I desided to try the China Express tonight. We had the #3 and the #8 under the daily specials. The teriyaki beef was the best, loved the egg rolls and big chicken wings. The boneless spare ribs were a tad bit done, but still good. Pork fried rice was fantastic. Very generous with the sauces. Great portions, enough for 2 more meals. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for the first time & boy were we disappointed. We decided to get delivery and they gave us the wrong order so when we called them and said we have received the wrong order they were very rude about it like it was our fault. Also when we gave the delivery guy the cash he said he didn't have change. So we suggested to give him exact change (it came to $20.54 & we gave him $30) he said no so we were forced to give him a $10 tip just to get the wrong order & wait and extra 45 minutes on top of the 30 minutes we already waited. The food was absolutely DISGUSTING. The rice was dry & bland. I got the sweet & sour chicken and the chicken was VERY VERY VERY TOUGH. It was hard to bite into and chew. The taste was off too. Fall River has plenty of Chinese food to choose from, many offering many of the same items, this restaurant is much like the others. They only offer take out or delivery but they have plenty on the menu to offer. The speed of service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. The most key part, the food, is up to par with other area restaurants, however it is nothing to write home about or go out of your way for. If you're in the area I'd recommend a stop in. read more

Very good. Had it 4 times and is always consistent. That's what I'm looking for A restaurant that is consistent. It always fills me up, and they have a nice discount available every Monday night. Which has become our Monday night go to spot. It is not a place to go sit down and eat more of a take-out spot. But when you go inside you can tell it's nice and clean which is definitely a bonus. I do not like writing reviews and wasting my time. But I could not let this one go. Me and my son order Chinese food for delivery and they told me it would be around 15 to 20 minutes delivery. I waited for 55 minutes and final call them back to see where our order was in the Chinese lady brushed it off and said oh we will get it there very soon. I said OK sounds good I will wait for it and we hung up. Need list to say no one ever showed up with the delivery or the food nor did they call back. Delivery took over an hour and I didn't order around lunchtime or dinner. It was not a holiday or weekend either. They never told me they were backed up or that it would take that long. After waiting almost an hour I called to see what was taking so long, a lady told me "the delivery guy just left, he'll be there in 5 minutes". I went to wait outside in the cold, brisk, breeze, I figured I can stand it even in snow 5 min isn't THAT long...the order arrived 23 minutes AFTER they told me it would only be 5 more min (I hate liars) to top it all off they didn't even get the order right! I asked the delivery guy what took so long he either couldn't speak English or was pretending he couldn't, he just smiled as I asked him what the problem was, he didn't explain. Delivery was quick but I do only live 1/4 mile away however the food was disappointing. The wonton soup was full of fallen apart wontons with hardly any pork strips in it. The terayaki chicken wasn't good and very stingy with the portions. My husband ordered orange chicken and the chicken bits were over fried and too small so they were crunchy. They have a delivery charge which other restaurants do not. I will not be ordering from here any more. I will continue to use China Wok and Happy Garden. read more
