I will never order from Golden River again. I used their on line system and got a confirmation that the food would be delivered at 630 PM. At 7 PM the food had not arrived and I called the restaurant. They said they had no no record of the order and could not explain how I received a confirmation. I used their on line system and received the confirmation that it would be delivered at 6 30 PM but they have no knowledge of the order? Their only response was to ask me if I wanted to order again. It's what you expect from your neighborhood Chinese takeout place. Food is decent, they're Crab Rangoon is a stand out and my wife loves their Pad Thai Noodles. Just check your order before you leave cause I've gotten my order messed up more then once. read more

I am honestly shocked to see the low reviews. I tried this place based off of a family member's recommendation and was very impressed. I had the general tso's chicken which could be the best i have ever had, I like that you can customize the level of hotness. I also tried the hawaiian chicken which was sweet and delicious. Wow. I have never been yelled at like this before. After waiting over 45 minutes for food delivery, we finally got our meals... Soggy and cold. I called and requested they send out fresh food in exchange for the old food. The woman insisted on a 10% off next order. I said no, I want fresh food. She said fine. Over 30 minutes later, I call back -- I get yelled at by some guy, telling me that I need to just wait and stop calling. I tell him to send his delivery girl back out and refund my money, take the food back, and call it done. 30 minutes later, he shows up himself, rifles through all the food ridiculously thoroughly, and gives me back my money minus $2 because "egg roll $1.50 missing." Whatever. I'm not even going to bother arguing with him at this point. No way am I ordering from this place again. Rude, horrible people and less than mediocre food. There are several Chinese delivery places in Fall River. I can do without this one. read more

They provide the standard Fall River style greasy Chinese food. I believe that the produce better quality food than most of the other Chinese restaurants in the city. One of the things that sets them apart from others is that they accept Credit Cards over the phone for deliveries. This is convenient because I usually don't carry much cash on me. read more

The crab ragoon was soggy to much cream cheese and onions. The rice was also soggy and no flavor. The general tso chicken tasted like fake processed chicken to much sauce. Made it mushy. The delivery was fast and the prices were good, but that doesn't count when you bite into food that is bad. We got enough food for 5, so we all decided to split the food and get a little of each on our plate. When everyone ate the chicken mixed w veggies we found out that something in that mix was bad. It had smelled like bad left out food. The chicken tasted like you would see in horror restaurant take over shows. It was old and smelled the same way. My 4 yr old ate some before we noticed. She threw up 30 min later and we had to take her to the hospital. We got the attention she needed before food poisoning set in. The day after me, my husband and our friends got sick. THIS PLACE ROBS MONEY FROM PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! and then they try to give you 10% off on your next order to cover the fact. I order from this place at least once a week, basically since they opened, and now I will never give them a penny. I placed an order for family dinner tonight, she takes my order, repeats it back to me, gives me a total (which adds up correctly), takes my credit card over the phone...everything seemed right. I get my order and I am missing 1 EASY COMMON (large fried rice) item. I call and tell a man what happened, he supposedly looks through the checks and states I never ordered it. I tell him he is wrong because she repeated it back to me and i was charged for it..he argues with me saying no..i do the math..and its correct, I was def charged for it. He basically stated I had to pay $6.85 for it. Listen, I cant have Chinese food and not have fried rice...I told him I didn't think it was right that you charge me for something and don't send it and now I have to pay for it again..he said he never had a customer like me "order something and not pay for it". I tried to tell him I did pay for it, if you add all the items, its what I paid. He asked me to read the check, I tried but unfortunately it wasn't written in english..but the number of "words" were the number of items I ordered, that I paid for, but didn't receive them all. After about 10 minutes of him going back and forth with him..i told him to send it and we would have the money and I hung up. He shows up 15 minutes later, knocks and walks right into my living room..demanding the $6.85 and basically throwing the bag at me..so I told him to get out of my house..and handed him a bag of basically all pennies. She isn't the best person to put up front unless she changes her attitude. She is even rude on the phone. Great If you're going to pick it up yourself, awful if you're having it delivered. It took over an hour and fifteen minutes for our order to arrive, of course by that time everything was cold! NEWSFLASH I ordered food to go because I didn't want to cook! If it's cold that means I have to cook it! No one even mentioned they were extremely busy or that it would take that long when I placed my order! When I asked what took so long he was evasive and that just gets me madder! I ordered around 3pm this is not a busy time for Chinese Restaurants. I don't know why because no one would TELL me why it took so long! I've been ordering from this place for years, both pick up and delivery, and I love it. The portions are huge, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. The people are always friendly and polite. I've tried some of the other Chinese restaurants in the area, but I like Golden River the best.
