This has been my go to Chinese food for over a decade. My last visit I learned there are new owners and apparently they changed the recipes. The new recipe of my favorite, Veggie Delight, was not good. Plus, the previous owner packed it full of broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, celery etc with a little bit of cabbage. The new owners have it mostly cabbage. It's disappointing. I wish the new owners well and I hope other customers or new customers enjoy the new recipes. For me, I won't be returning. read more

I moved about 5 years ago and this was my go-to spot for fast Chinese. I tried it again about a year ago, and they mixed up my order with someone else's and since the bag was stapled up, I didn't notice until I had driven a long distance home. The food was not good, but I figured it was because it wasn't what I originally had ordered. Flash forward to a few days ago when I was visiting friends and thought I would give it another try. Order was correct, but the sesame chicken was absolutely inedible. It's not like me to throw food away, but this went right in the trash. Chicken was dry and tough, breading was greasy and incredibly salty. It is very, very rare for me to give a negative review, but this time it was so bad I couldn't let it go. Overall, this is a place that we like. However, the biggest issue is the consistency. There are times when it is truly amazing and then the next time we come back, they mess up our order or the food just doesn't taste as good. The good and the bad. We have had several meals from this location in the past and all were very good and why we kept buying in the future. This time it was almost inedible. Meaning it was bad an even though the 10 times before it was good, this one event means we won't go back. The problem was the cooking oil. It was probably old overused or burnt oil but maybe rancent. Cooking oil that goes bad is easy for any experienced chef to smell or taste and it's cheap and easy to replace. Instead they saved a few pennies on our $53.13 meal plus tip. read more

Pretty good Chinese-American takeout. General Tso's is the same saucy recipe common in there greater OKC area, but done with a little less flavor than superior competitors. Hot & sour soup the same -- while I liked the mushrooms, chicken chunks were tough and overall less peppery than I prefer. Fried rice with my entree had tiny chunks of pork which gave it a little flavor, not bad. Prices are very fair and service is fast. But I'd probably skip it for a place with more flavor. read more

Pricey and not worth it. This was my first time coming here, and will definitely not be returning. I'd prefer to eat at Panda compared to this crud-hole. Horrible customer service as the lady taking the order seemed to have a problem with taking our order - she even answered the phone while we were telling her our order then walked back to the kitchen to put it together. There was another man in the back that could have done this and it came off as very rude. The food did not even taste good compared to what we paid for it. Fried rice tasted plain. Orange chicken was very hard to bite into and chewy. The sesame beef was too soft and had a weird texture (marshmallow?). The kung pao chicken was decent, but was overloaded with celery and peppers compared to the amount of meat. The lo mein was the only item that tasted decent. It was a "hole-in-the-wall" type of place, so I expected the food to be at least decent, but I was wrong. Interior was very dirty and it made me feel like I didn't want to even touch anything. My recommendation is to not waste your time, money, or patience here. You'd be better off at Panda Express. read more

Szechuan Beef on lunch menu egg drop soup was bland and surprised it did not come with an egg roll. Overall I liked the sesame chicken over the orange chicken. The pork fried rice that came with the sesame chicken was pretty good. I did notice their lunch specials were really good priced for a decent amount of food. I personally did not like the egg drop soup. But I will say this place you definitely get your money's worth. I just ordered shrimp Lo mein and hot sour soup, tasted good but noodles just a little too salty.

The food is good, when we orderd delivery, it arrived within a reasonable amount of time. The roast pork chow mein, orange chicken, broccoli with beef, and hit and sour soup were good. Unfortunately, the spring rolls were nice and crispy on the outside but all mushy on the inside. Also, they suffer from the Edmond fried rice problem. Like many Chinese restaurants in our area, their fried rice is very yellow and the chicken is completely white and looks steamed or boiled. This is not like fried rice I have had anywhere else and is a complete mystery as to how it became a thing here. It doesn't taste bad, but it could most definitely be a lot better if it was done differently. read more

Good food! Kind of a funny little place and not much for indoor seating, but great for takeout! The menu is pretty big, so it can be hard to decide, but they also have combo options that make it a little easier because then you kind of get a little more. I think I got the hot and sour chicken combo that came with fried rice. Very yummy! But no pineapple, I usually like to have pineapple with my hot and sour meals. Limited beverages and no alcohol, but right next to Old Vine, so if you need something to take home, it's very convenient. EXPECTED BETTER The establishment is mostly for take out. It does have 3 tables in case you wish to dine in. The staff was pleasant. I ordered C20 General Tsao and C14 Shrimp with vegetables. The portions were generous. It included rice and egg roll at a reasonable price. I enjoyed the pork rice! The General Tsao chicken was mostly bread and no chicken. We placed an order for pickup and had to make sure that their was extra sauce for the sweet and sour pork, which is a nice sized portion. We also ordered extra hot mustard for the egg roll. sesame chicken with a side of metal? no thank you. i think it's one of those things that wraps up plastic food bags (like bread). besides almost eating this, their sesame chicken didn't taste great either and i had to pull off bites from huge pieces of chicken that, because of its size, wasn't cooked evenly. the crab rangoon was delicious though; however, having non-edible things accidentally cooked into food is a huge oversight that can be dangerous. please handle your food better! read more

We set a order thirty minutes in advance and when we got there guess what! They hadn't even started out food and they had no other food being made. So we have to wait another 20-30 minutes for our food and we also had pizza waiting and it got cold; foods alright but service isn't good. Recommend to call after placing order. We've become regulars at the China Chef over the last few years. It's very close to our house and is great for the last minute hunger cravings when you don't feel like cooking. There aren't too many things I claim to be a connoisseur of but rice is one of them. Many Chinese restaurants have very mediocre rice but China Chef is not one of them. Not too dry, not too sticky. Just good rice. I enjoy the Mongolian Beef and my wife loves their Sesame Chicken. We both agree that of all the nearby takeout joints they're the best. Service is what you would expect, no frills just quick, good, hot Chinese food. Price is on par with the others. Although I think you can get a better deal at House of Hunan (2nd & Santa Fe), the food is a bit better at China Chef. read more
