Saw several of my classmates having lunch (shrimp fry rice with chicken wings) and it looked so good I had to ask where they got it from. Ordered it for my dinner that same day. The gentleman on the phone was friendly in taking my order. The lady at the counter nicely greeted when picking up. Food was hot and tasty with good portion for the price. It's a no frills Chinese restaurant that you eat in or order to go. Inside is a bit worn looking with the carpeting etc. I don't find it inviting to sit and dine in. It a basic no frills Chinese restaurant but food is good and I'm picky abt my Chinese food. Plan to go back and try other items. I recommend trying them. read more

ATLANTA, where is good Egg Foo Young Chicago style? Tried yet another Chinese restaurant trying to at last find decent Chinese Egg Foo Young. so disappointed. they only use onions and chicken and egg in Chicken Egg Fo Young. No bean sprouts, water crescents, broccoli, NOTHING. All I could taste was old grease. The gravy color was not dark but the color of how I like my coffee. Girl at desk was cordial, Cant eat in. For neighborhood Chinese it is pretty good. The restaurant is in a shopping center that lacks looks but the food is good. We were able to order on the website and pay in person. We had the Mei Fun and it wasn't too salty. We also ordered a shrimp roll and it was okay. If you want no frills Chinese this is it. read more

I ordered Lemon pepper wings and Shrimp Fried Rice with an egg roll, $10.05. The food was ok. The rice was a bit mushy, but had flavor. Wings were crispy and seasoned well with the lemon pepper flavor in every bite. Egg roll was small but good. Hole in the wall kind of place on Riverdale Rd. Parking lot had pot holes so be mindful. Today i got house Lomain and it tasted like the pan it was cooked in had something in it that was burnt. The China Cafe is a buffet style restaurant. Get as much food as you can eat and more! The price is by the lb. The selections vary greatly and I've never found a dish to my disliking. I usually go to Panda Express for Chinese food. They're my go to for fried rice but China Cafe is a close contender. They offer a buffet with plates priced by the pound. I stack my plate up and it wasn't expensive at all (less than $15). The fried rice was on point. The orange chicken also tasted good. It could have had more of a crunch though. The food got here quicker than they said, in about 20 minutes rather than 30-40. Everything was very hot and fresh. Saved the soup til after the meal, and it was still really hot. Wow, this was delicious. We ordered delivery to our hotel room. They were a little late, so we were sure we'd have to nuke it. NOT. It was piping hot and very tasty. It's a really small, super cheap Chinese place in a not-so-great area. The inside probably cost $30 to put together, including all furniture and tables (there's about 5). I can't see the kitchen but I don't know if I trust what's going on in there at all. Pros: very cheap (averages $8-$9) for each entree; entrees are HUGE and can be split between two hungry people; overall actually pretty good tasting; nice lady at the counter. I ordered a chicken broccoli special from the hotel I'm staying at which is near the airport. The lady gave an estimated time of arrival of about 40 minutes and it came at the said time. To make a long story short, the chicken was rubbery and tasteless, but still edible. It looked quite suspicious as well but nothing out of the ordinary for Atlanta. The fried rice was also bland which made me think of it was whole wheat rice, but I'm not sure that even exists. What redeemed the meal were the dumplings and the eggroll. I lived off these guys when so lived close by. The delivery is good, but once you have had the same deliveryman for years, it's odd when someone else shows up . The last few times I went though, I picked it up because the delivery started taking too long. We ordered out food for delivery to a hotel a few minutes from the airport. The time it took was a little long. The food was good, but I've had better and it was moderately priced. The person who delivered it was nice and the delivery fee was reasonable. The jumbo shrimp appetizer is more accurately described as jumbo breading with a small shrimp inside. I also had the lunch special pork lo-mein with fried rice and an egg roll.
