Usually it's the egg rolls they forget. Today, my wife added a bubble tea to the order and they didn't give it to her. We haven't really been able to find Chinese food that is actually good here when we are upstate but we happened to stumble upon this place one night. It was late after a movie and they were about to close but the owner was behind the counter and allowed us to order.. We had specified that it was our first time and she was very helpful and informative on helping us pick our dinners and even made is 3 boba teas fresh to order! We ending up ordering the chicken lo mein, shrimp fried rice and lemon chicken which were all so fresh! Flavors were wonderful and delicious and reminded us of Chinese food back home in the city which made us very happy because now we have our go-to place up here! They have just opened another place in Oneonta called Oney Poke that will definitely be trying next.. ask for Ivy the owner she is fantastic and will take care of you every time. Ordered our lunch as we do EVERY week. EVERY week we order the same items. EVERY week they screw up the order and if we call to complain they blame US. Today when I called because the screwed up AGAIN they put the phone down and proceeded to claim that WE always have an issue. WELL if you could manage to make our order without screwing it up we wouldn't call to complain!! We have waited over an hour and half for deliver before, we get no pasticware, no sauces, no soda that we paid for, today we got food we did not order, and then the food we did order was not prepared as it said on the ticket. China 19 was the best thing to happen to me yesterday. I was stuck at a hotel in Oneonta because of the snowstorm and rolled my eyes at everyone clearing out the supermarkets two days prior in anticipation that the town may be shut down. Yeah right, I thought. Well I thought wrong and for two days I was stuck eating whatever wildly unhealthy snacks they had at the 2 by 4 convenience stand in the hotel. Tostito chips and chex mix can only get you so far. My car was stuck in the parking lot and I needed assistance digging it out so I knew the only way I was getting something decent to eat was if a place was delivering. I used Yelp to find a restaurant that offered delivery and China 19 was affiliated with Yelp Eat 24 so I downloaded the app and it couldn't have been easier. I ordered steamed vegetable dumplings and steamed chicken and broccoli. I modified the chicken and broccoli dish to be steamed without any sauce and asked for brown rice instead of white. After placing the order, I called to confirm they received it and was told they would be here in 45 minutes. The Yelp Eat 24 app told me they would be arriving at 3:30 and that they were on schedule. At 3:45 I decided to check for an update on the app because they still hadn't arrived. The application contacts the restaurant and then they communicate back to the app with a response. Seconds later, I was told my food was just leaving the restaurant. It was so easy and although they came 20 minutes later than originally planned I appreciated the ability to get an update like that. The food came piping hot, $19 before tip, which considering what I got was definitely on the high end, however there was a $3 delivery charge. The dumplings were unlike any I've ever had, they were super doughy. The dough to vegetable filling ratio was definitely off, but they were still good and HUGE, perfect for sharing and the soy dipping sauce it came with was decent. My steamed chicken and broccoli was good enough too, the garlic sauce they gave on the side was everything but healthy but it added a needed flavor. They gave me white rice, which bummed me out because I couldn't eat it and I asked for brown. I would have appreciated them looking at my request and calling if they didn't have brown and I would have gone with fried rice instead. They either mistakenly gave me white or they looked at my request and ignored it because they didn't have any brown. I would definitely come back here, the chicken and broccoli portion was small though so I would recommend getting something in addition if you plan to be satisfied. read more

I am super disappointed. I am a dasher & I came to pick up my customers order, to hear that they cannot complete my order. My customer has already paid in full & left a generous tip + their delivery. Honestly I'm from NYC so most other Chinese food sucks. But this place was terrible! I got beef lomein and it was rubbery and barely had any taste. The food is also extremely greasy and it gave me so many stomach problems. The delivery guy was also late and we told him to pull up in the back, in the driveway, not the front and he didn't listen. We specifically said this because we had a problem with that door and couldn't open it. I also tipped him two bucks, we didn't order a lot and I don't tip a lot of money for delivery and he had the nerve to say oh so little, oh it's ok bigger tip next time. Tonight will literally be the last time that I ever order from that pathetic excuse for a Chinese restaurant. After the disgusting answer from the woman who answers the phone and her sighing and telling me she guesses she'll go back to the kitchen to check with them, I was placed on the phone with a rude and obnoxious woman who YELLED at me and told me I got the right order. Well, excuse me then, I must be wrong, staring at my pork egg rolls and my wonton soup in front of me, you ignorant, nasty woman. After her making rude remarks and yelling, "YOU HAVE TWO VEGETABLE EGG ROLLS AND AN EGG DROP SOUP!" I told her, "I'm staring right at it and it's wrong!" Then she screams "WE'LL GET YOU THE RIGHT FOOD!" and then hangs up on me. Seriously? That's your customer service, because when I began trying to get my food, I was completely polite. Best chinese food in town but lacking in a few ways. I've gotten the peking duck from here a few times because I love it and their version is good but they serve it with flour tortillas instead of steamed buns. That does seems to be the standard in Oneonta though. Also, when you order pork fried rice with your combination, you get maybe 3 or 4 tiny pieces of pork and if you're lucky sometimes you might even get some egg. Which is weird because if you order the pfr on its own you get this amazing dish full of pork, veggies and egg. Regardless the food is always delicious even the mostly plain pfr. Food is good but delivery is a serious problem. Often times things are forgotten or wrong. Food in restaurant is entirely different (better) than when delivered. The platter/sampler is good minus the (fish?) Mostly everything is decent but to truly experience the food from the source you need to go to the actual restaurant. Order from here often and would again but them forgetting Snapple 4/5 times over several years gets a bit redundant. Bonus is you can order online at Eat24 which is very convenient and helpful. Wish they would add pictures as not all of us know the dishes well enough to make new choices on food we would like to try. read more

When I attended SUNY Oneonta, I had Chinese food for the first time ever and it happened to be from China 19. I had no idea that it would set such a high standard for Chinese take out. When I transfered schools and moved to Albany, nothing compared to China 19! I've never been able to find pork fried rice or beef lo mein as savory or as satisfying or well cooked (always the perfect consistency, never tough or underdone). I make sure to stop in every time I'm near Oneonta, and they never disappoint! I've been a customer for the past six years and I have no plan to stop going. The friendly service, the low cost, and the quality of the food (the best comfort food, in my opinion) will always keep me coming back. read more

Ordered food an hour and a half ago, no delivery. Called about an hour in, they said they called me and got no answer. I said I didn't get a call and that had my friends try calling me, all went through. They said they "think my food is with someone else" and asked for another number. Waited another 25 minutes, no food. Then we get a call on the new number, some barely-speaking-English woman calls, asking why we didn't pick up the phone again, and confirmed what address it's going to. We repeated ourselves three times and she didn't understand, kept asking "what?" If you can't speak English, that's fine, but maybe you shouldn't be in a position where you need to communicate with other people in a college town. To go back to the other part, she said we didn't pick up the phone AGAIN. Again? AGAIN? Maybe it's you morons when two different phones, two different numbers, didn't get a call when you say you did. She told us it would be another 10-15 minutes. Bullshit. There's other Chinese food places in this town and my business is now going to them. Hell, should've ordered Italian. It takes Tino's an hour but at least it's due to being busy and not due to being completely incompetent. Update: the food came and it was cold and missing the sauces. Fuck that. read more

I had a terrible experience with this place I've eaten the food multiple times before, it's pretty okay, but the service is terrible. I ordered a meal and when I was eating my wonton soup I nearly choked on this 1 inch. long very sharp plastic piece and then proceeded to find another piece in my soup. I examined my container and lid and didn't find any missing parts- obviously these pieces came from somewhere else. So, I call and they were so RUDE they just kept saying "Ok well what do you want me to do about it?" You do not treat customers like that and especially not customers who found a sharp foreign object in the soup. Never eating here again it's so not worth it. read more
