I love the Shrimp toast here, highly reccomend! I'd reccomend getting Entrees here as opposed to my usual Pu Pu Platter as it's not as large, varied or as good as the ones I'm used to in Mass. The only disappointing dish I've had here is the Egg Foo Young, and while the egg pancake was superb, the gravy was very thin and VERY salty, and I'm a salt fiend (beef Jerkey all day). I had shrimp egg rolls and Egg Fu Young. The egg rolls were fine. The Egg Fu Young just didn't taste right. It lacked an egg taste and didn't seem.to have bean sprouts in it. The contents just didn't have much flavor. It was anything but what it should have been , a pleasant egg flavored omelet. I'm used to China 19 being consistently good, but what I received made me think it was under new management and that the cook had never prepared this dish before. Edit: I should mention that my wife's order was fine--Broccoli in Garlic Sauce. My order was General Tso's Chicken Wings. I've never had this before and didn't know what to expect, but I have had General Tso's Chicken before. It's pretty standard fare. What I received was, to say the least, strange (maybe my fault for ordering it). The wings were huge--perhaps turkey wings? They were coated in something and mostly covered in sauce, in a very unappealing way. They arrived piled in a box that was even less appealing--looked like a pile of Pterodactyl wings. You have to drain the liquid from the meal.The plumb sauce, which is supposed to be a thick paste and delicious, had been watered down to the point that it has no texture of sweet flavor. I've gotten food here for years but twice now in a row I've ordered sweet and sour chicken and cheese wantons and they brought one small sauce. The first time the angry mandarin woman yelled at me for them being wrong and me asking if each came with a sauce of their own and hung up. The second time I ordered the same thing and it showed up with one small sauce. This time I called and acted as if I didn't order and asked if each came with their own small sauce and she said yes they each have their own sauce- I think. I confirmed again bc I couldn't quite understand and she said yes. I brought up the issue and she went somewhere and started talking to someone in her language and said "ok we will send some out when the delivery driver gets back" two books with my children later- the reason two sauces is important with two orders and an hour later I called back and I got told ok they'll leave now to bring them to you. The first time the woman was very rude and hung up on me the second time she lied and said it would be here soon. Not to mention the drug addicts they employ. At least they're working but damn dudes pupils were saucers both times. If only Oneonta had a good consistent Chinese food restaurant. One star bc zero isn't an option. I was almost scared off by the negative reviews but no trouble here! We strolled in right at 3PM (3:02 to be exact) and they still allowed us to order lunch specials as long as we got takeout only (lunch specials end at 3PM). They had kids running the register which was cute. There was nobody else waiting and we were told food would be ready in 10 minutes, but we had a large order and it took closer to 25 minutes. We walked around to some stores in the area. The food came out super hot, which is great because we had a ~35 minute drive before we could sit down and eat. We ordered all kinds of food; tofu, beef, chicken, soups, etc. All of it was good. Would definitely stop back in when in the area. Prices were reasonable, especially for lunch specials. There really are not a lot of Chinese food options in this area; between Oneonta/Delhi and Liberty there is nothing. read more

I don't see why not. Being in a town that has so many take out places, China 19 is my go- to place. Although I have heard from a friend who worked for China 19 that it isn't particularly clean, I must say that delivery service and the food's taste are both excellent. My go-to from here is their beef lo mein. I've ordered from a place down the street that gave me angel hair as lo mein. ANGEL HAIR. Their combinations during lunch are most inexpensive for the most quantity of food. My favorite soup from here is their hot and sour because it takes a lot of effort to cook that myself and their soup is really good. There's a strong white pepper flavor which warms me up! Their food isn't too greasy. The one complaint I have about this place is their chicken wings. I ordered them cause I was craving them but the flavor of it is definitely under seasoned. Their delivery people are always very nice. Ordering off Yelp Eats 24 gets you your food faster than calling it in. You also get a choice of rice, veggie or pork spring rolls and other small details on the Yelp Eats 24 site. It's great! My friend that ordered sweet and sour chicken was disappointed, but if it is super fried and Americanized-Chinese you should expect it to not be as great. 11/4/17 Ordered via yelpeats24...I asked for the Singapore noodles which were excellent. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I've only eaten here twice -- once when I first moved to the area 3 years ago, and again recently. I had forgotten why I never ordered from this restaurant again after that first time. And now I remember. If you're considering getting a tofu dish, be advised that this place doesn't cook the tofu before adding it to dishes. I've never had tofu in a restaurant where it wasn't cooked first - pan or deep fried usually. I realize this could just be a matter of personal experience/taste. Perhaps some people like cubes of raw soft tofu in sauce. Maybe this is how it's eaten in parts of China. I am no expert, but I found the dish inedible. Also, peas. I was a regular customer until tonight sorry to say we ordered shrimp lomein , diced chicken and shrimp, Happy Family, and chicken with garlic sauce, the shrimp in all the dinners tasted like iodine and were nasty , i called to complain and had a very rude person to talk to ,they asked why i called so late 1 1/2 hours later I live in Sidney so i live a 1/2 hour away. They didn't believe a word i said, nobody else complained they said. I'm from Long Island, so I was expecting pretty bad chinese food, but definitely not this bad. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The service was absolutely horrendous. The waitress was very short with me and my two friends. Once we received our menus, she made it a point to me, who is chinese (my two friends are caucasian) that they had combo plates and wanted to make sure I understood. I ordered a combo plate with chicken and broccoli, egg drop soup, white rice and a pork egg roll. One of my friends also ordered a General Tsu's chicken, with wonton soup, fried rice and a pork egg roll. My other friend ordered sesame chicken. My egg drop soup came out and even though the menu claimed that the food had no food coloring, it was BRIGHT YELLOW. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but my plate came with fried rice instead of white rice. I almost didn't want to tell the waitress, as she already looked annoyed that she had to serve us, but i hate fried rice so i told her politely that i ordered white rice. She replied, "no, you did not, you said fried rice so here it is". She eventually took my plate and replaced the rice. When I got to the bottom of the rice, there was a BUG SITTING RIGHT THERE. I (stupidly) didn't say anything and continued to eat my reddish looking chicken and undercooked broccoli. When we got the check, we began to pay the check with a card and filled out the receipt, debating on how little to tip. While we were deciding, the waitress hovered over us and was "cleaning" the other table. Then the waitress went right up to my friend and informed her that it was a minimum 18% tip. Basically, it was one of the worst meals i've ever eaten out and I'll never return. I'd rather starve on bad college food than eat here. I ordered take out thru Grub Hub. Food arrived in 65 minutes. OK. They sent a 20oz Diet Pepsi. I ordered Diet Coke as listed on website. No utensils, napkins, soy sauce in bag. I'm in a hotel. When I called - was told "well it's the driver's fault. He had trouble with your order." No solution for Diet Pepsi. Said they'd send driver back out with supplies. 35 minutes later I begged some from front desk. When I called to tell them to skip it - they were "oh well". Was looking for Chinese place and stumbled across this one. At first we were happy that you could actually sit down to eat. We ordered the lunch specials that were $8.95 x3. (It was a lunch combo) Perfect we thought, the food wasn't bad. They asked if we wanted soup and we said no just the rice and spring roll. The bill came and it was actually double of what we expected! We spoke to the owner. She said you didn't get the soup so you have to pay for the rice! She charged for the spring rolls separately as well! She very rudely said "you think things are free?" on top of that she up charged us for using the credit card all without telling us! The bill should've been approx $28 and we paid close to $60.00. She was rude and dismissive. I explained to her what she was doing was wrong, she said the waiter should've told you but forgot. As a student at SUNY Oneonta, I have only had a pleasant experience with China 19 and their service. Served my needs perfectly although some dishes could be improved. Anyway, I don't have many complaints and even meals that I seem to dislike that they make (due to loyalty of a chinese food place at home) my friend orders because it is her favorite dish here. The Pad Thai dish here is very similar to that of the thai food restaurant across the street and is convenient to order with your friends and even online. Worst experience. I went after work and ordered the crispy sesame chicken. First of all the owner / manager treats her staff badly. She speaks rudely and down to them. Allows her daughter to walk around loudly on her iPhone speaking half English half Chinese. Patrons want to relax and eat in peace. I was driving through downtown and came across this restaurant. It smelled really good from the outside. As I walked in, I was greeted by the woman working the front desk. I asked her what the popular dishes were, and she rattled off General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, etc. I pointed to what appeared to be the two owners who were speaking in Chinese. I asked her what they would order. She told me, they just pick anything from the back and start eating it. The menu had so many choices. I didn't know what to choose. I was a little confused because they not only had Chinese and Japanese listed in the name of the restaurant, but they also had Thai food. I figured I would settle on an order of chicken pad Thai. Who can mess that up? I had asked the lady what kind of meat the boneless ribs were, but she was unsure. I asked her if there were any chow mein noodles that were crisp and she wasn't sure. I was only going to order because I'd been standing there so long so I ordered a Pad Thai, only to be told that when I was trying to pay there would be a 3% surcharge for credit cards. I have been a regular customer for almost 10 years. I ordered food on Sunday and got very sick Monday night. I called on Tuesday and they were closed. I call today and was told, verbatim, "I do not care, it's not my problem, take it up with the department of health." I went in person and was told basically the same thing. China 19 food poisoned me and does not care about me or any of their customers. The main owner is chronically rude and openly racist. Do not eat here or spend your money.
