The lo mein has changed . It used to be the smaller noodles which were great. The new ones are not good.

Ordered take out. Egg rolls were literally floating in grease. Smelt like fish. Threw them away. The sesame chicken was awful - chewy and grizzly. Sauce was overly sweet. A large roast pork fried rice smelled strongly of fish. We didn't dare taste it. Threw it away. My chicken with vegetables was super slimy and under cooked. Pepper steak was the most edible thing we ordered but the beef also had the same slimy flour or cornstarch exterior. I called the order in. Arrived at the time they said for pickup and I still waited over 30 mins. There was lots of staff in the back cooking. Despite waiting and witnessing the food be packaged up. It was warm in the 10 min it took to get home. I'm not in the habit of posting bad reviews. It was a costly mistake. Well over $60 with tip. read more

Way too much pepper, not enough authentic . Ordered dinner KonBo Chicken which should have some spice. Well, basic stir fry with way too much white pepper and/or cayenne. The dish lacked authentic asian sauces such as hoisin or oyster sauces. Not a fan but can say I've tried it. read more

This is not a classy Chinese restaurant. The quality of food is horrible and bland. The restaurant in itself looks old and dirty. I know from experience that if you ever find a Chinese and Japanese mix on the menu, don't go! I personally enjoy japenese food but this was no where close to it and neither the Chinese options. You can go to a local super market and get a frozen Asian meal and it would taste the same as this place. If you want quality Chinese food, drive down the road to Panda Chinese Restaurant. Unfortunately, I can't suggest a good Japanese experience within 15 miles from Lincolnton. Please don't waste your time here! read more

First off, my wife and I ordered the wrong thing for our son. I called back (not knowing that we ordered wrong) and proceeded to say I was given the wrong food. Instead of arguing with me, the lady politely explained what I ordered and what we meant to order. She stepped away from the phone for a minute or two then came back and said I could come pick up the correct food at no charge. I had a plan that I was going to pay for it any way I could. They wouldn't let me. I said, "But I also want to add a drink, so can you ring it up and please let me pay for it? It was our fault." She wouldn't let me. Needless to say, this place has GREAT employees and really knows how to treat their customers. They definitely have made us a customer that will be returning for a VERY long time. Very reasonably priced and delicious food, both on the Japanese and Chinese side of the menu. I personally love the Teriyaki Chicken. This has become my go to place for Asian take out. I order online through their website and have never had an issue (and I go multiple times a week). read more

I used to love China 1, been going there for 16 years. It has really gone downhill with the new management. We ate there tonight. The place was filthy - every table on the window side was covered in a sticky built-up film, and the ceiling was brown and caving in at the rear of the dining area, right where a light fixture was hanging from it. Bathrooms were filthy and my feet stuck to the floor, not typical in a ladies' room. Our iced tea was barely tea, it was mostly water. I ordered Szechuan Chicken, my husband ordered Orange Beef. Dinners came in styro to-go containers with thin, tiny plastic forks that wouldn't even puncture vegetables. I asked for regular utensils, I was told because of Covid, they don't use them anymore. (huh? It's April 2023). My Szechuan chicken was more under-steamed than stir fried, there was no sign of any stir-fry marks. Chicken was very slimey and there was reddish liquid, like a gel, inside the chicken when I unfolded the pieces. I am over 65, I know what undercooked chicken looks like. I asked them to take it back and cook it a little longer. Meanwhile, my husband is struggling with the Orange Beef - the sauce was tasty, but trying to chew the beef was difficult, it was like eating breaded rubber bands. He pulled the breading off and it was all gristle. He sent the entire dinner back minus 3 pieces of fried beef. Meanwhile, I got back a styro cup of slimey chicken, no better cooked than the last and certainly not the way a wok is supposed to cook it, but it had sweet and sour sauce on it instead of Szechuan brown sauce. I unfolded the top piece of sliced chicken and there was blood in the crease, just like the last batch. By then, my stomach was turning, and my husband was fed up. I brought this cup of chicken to the front desk to show them and asked for a refund. The young ladies up front were very sweet and trying to help, but their manager refused to refund my husband's dinner "because no one ever complained about Orange Beef before" and would only do a partial refund on mine. We spent $33 and I got $12 back. Worst dinner out in a very long time for us, we will not be back read more

The food is decent. There are far better choices than this place. Panda is right down the street. I prefer Golden China in Maiden. So if Panda is closed and I don't want to drive all the way to Maiden I go here... its never really fresh but it will satisfy your craving for Chinese food. read more

Pretty good noodles and rice but some of the meat is sometimes dry and the eggrolls just don't taste right.

I ordered lo mein with my general tsos chicken. I got rice instead and had to bring the order back. They charged me an extra 3.50 for the lo mein. The chicken was pretty good, but the lo mein was more like ramen noodles. Very thin and flavorless noodles. I will go to Panda down the street instead from now on. read more

Terrible. Just Terrible. Not only was the wait ridiculous, but the food was not what I asked for, they charged me separately for something that should have been a combo, driving my bill up to twice what it should have been. The lo main was just noodles with soy sauce, the hunan beef was rubbery and salty, my rice was dry and undercooked, my sweet and sour sauce came with two sad slivers of green pepper and a carrot, and the crab rangoon was cold and cooked in old oil. Then when I went to get my money back, they were rude to me on top of everything else! My roomate and I will never go there again! read more
