This was my first time going. The first thing I noticed was how small it was. I don't know why, but I expected it too be much bigger. I wasn't a fan of the layout and think it could use some remodeling. The food was fine along with the service. I appreciate how they keep up with the dirty plates, which made it easier to bring back more food(: The ice cream was ok. Didn't like the texture. Bathroom was ok.

Okay, so I have to say that I hesitated coming to this place for a while. I was hesitant because of how it looked from the outside! However, looks can be deceiving! This is my 4th time eating here and I have to say that they are pretty consistent in their food quality and consistent in the food flavors! I love love the chow main and orange chicken. The staff are very friendly and quick to great you and serve you. They always have a smile on their faces! The only recommendation I have is for them to switch menu up for dinner with more specialty dinner menu options. The lunch and dinner are the same except for one add dish. Other wise I would give them a try.

Don't bother coming here. Waste of money. Food is greasy . Only thing I liked was the steamed rice. Floors and seating is sticky.

Super tender chicken and the sauce was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor perfectly spiced without being too heavy. With the fluffy rice and warm naan it was one of those meals you don't want to end. What really makes this place stand out though is the service. The owner is always there super welcoming and constantly checking in to make sure you're taken care of. You can tell he takes pride in the food and the experience. Again the flavors were consistent and the servers did a great job even though it was the buffet option picked. They do have door dash, payment the do take card and Apple Pay. I got to enjoy lunch with my family here for my birthday today and I was extremely happy. Did you…read moreknow birthday people get to eat for free? That pleased me. But even if I were to pay for myself, I thought the value (for lunch anyway) was very good. This is so much better than the Chinese buffets on my side of the East Bay which encompasses the far east side of Contra Costa County. For one, sashimi being offered as part of the lunch spread is very welcome. Would've been nice if they were a little thicker but it's all you can eat so it's not a huge deal. I like that there was a nice selection of bottled drinks included with the meal and not just the typical fountain. That's rare for me to see. I LOVED the build your own malatang station. I've found that it's starting to be a popular thing with some buffets lately but this is the first time I've had one at a reasonably priced buffet. I love having malatang that I don't have to be conscious of the price by the pound for a change. Desserts were probably the weakest part of the buffet. The ice cream especially was rock hard. Not a huge fan of the tiny ice cream cups that are provided. I much prefer having the option to self scoop ice cream, especially if there's more flavors than just vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and my picky family also liked it so that's pretty high praise. I hope we can come back here for our next birthday.

The layout isn't as open as a lot of other bigger buffet restaurants but this one had all the food laid out in the same area. The dining areas are separated, and I was sat in a kind of hallway that was excluded from other tables and had strong air-conditioning. I felt like the food quality is a lot better here than other buffets. I've tried there were sashimi slices (tuna, tilapia, salmon lemon) which I was surprised about and I loved. I kept going back for those. They were sushi rolls, crab leg. mussels, oysters, shrimps Cajun fish a lot of seafood and for the meat there were dim sum chicken feet and spareribs and chicken wings, cooked salmon, etc. For the veggies. there were eggplants mushrooms, green beans, Chinese veggies, wood ear and they were really good. There was a steak section where you could ask for a slice of steak to be grilled for you there was a mala tang section. and where you can pay $4 extra for a lobster tail. I feel like the presentation here is better than other buffet places. I especially love the black custard bun with the gold stripe on it. The inside was so melted and gooey. It was perfect. The dessert selection isn't too big here so I didn't really get any. There was a chocolate fountain that you could dip strawberries in. The dinner price was around $46 for the weekend which I went to. The only thing was that the food area can get crowded so I was pushing my way through a little bit and trying to get in between the cracks to get food.

The sushi was delicious, with favorites like dragon rolls and plenty of sashimi options. The spice levels were good, and the unagi sauce was not overly sweet. Dessert is mostly Jell-O, pudding, and some mini spongy cakes. The mango pudding was a great refresher. Overall, it's a great lunch spot at a decent price!

I feel like I've upgraded from typical Chinese buffets with the weird gelatin cakes from that one specific bakery that distributes said cakes to all these low-level Chinese buffets. But sometimes I gotta return to the trenches! The inside is cute with a lot of booths and Japanese decorations. The center consists of a sushi bar with a functioning boat, chefs making rolls and putting jello onto the little floaties. The back has the standard Americanized Chinese fare. Bonus: there is a "Mongolian BBQ" station where a cook will stir fry your creation. Pricing is pretty decent considering there is more than just the hot trays of Chinese. The food itself was pretty OK. Sushi is basic to below average with huge 65-35 rice proportions, so get ready to be full fast. The sushi chefs also focused on saucy rolls vs nigiri. Because there is seating around the sushi boat, it was funny witnessing socially-unaware people go up behind people sitting there to grab a plate even though there was a huge space at the end of the island without seating to avoid this. Anyways, we ate a bunch to get our money's worth and could cross this off the list to never have to go again.

Heck, they all usually even have pizza and French fries if you don't want Chinese food! No hamburgers though, like Mexican places. This New King Buffet, (super common name for Chinese buffets for some reason), is located way in the back of a shopping area off East Hatch Road. Look for the Cost Less Foods store, it's back and to the right of that. Glad we had the GPS to get us here. It sort of looks a little run down and older, not one of these new fancy Chinese buffets with tons of Chinese people in line, eating strange food from tide pools, nope, more or less American Chinese here. We go in and it's actually decently large enough with all the normal selections or foods, like noodles, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour stuff and egg rolls. Lunch time so no crab out. Service is the usual Chinese efficient, just to fill drinks and clear plates is all. Everyone filled up and thought the food was decent and no complaints, so that's good. I like it doesn't take too long to do lunch here, outta here in under an hour. I hate places we end up spending 2 hours at for lunch. Buffets are good for fast lunch.
