Ted and his team did an excellent job rebuilding our chimney from the roof up. The team was able to fit us in a week ahead of schedule and were courteous, clean and efficient. It gets messy tearing down an old chimney and not one of our delicate plants in front of our house were damaged. The workers did not have a truck big enough to haul all of the old chimney away, so Ted sent someone out on Mother's Day to take care of it. Ted personally came out a few days later to look at the work. We experienced very high winds the following week and our chimney cap blew off. Ted was out there the next day fixing the problem and ensuring it wouldn't happen again. Wow! We originally went with Fireplace Pros for some maintenance. Chimney Professionals and Masonry Experts, LLC made me a fan of their work! They rebuilt two raised beds in block for me. My wife uses a wheelchair. Eight years ago, my father and I built her two 30-inch high wooden raised beds so that she could garden from her wheelchair. Eight years later, the wood was rotting, plus the beds had suffered wheelchair damage over the years. As an early Christmas present to my wife, I asked Chimney Professionals and Masonry Experts, LLC, and a few other companies to come and bid on the job. Chimney Professionals won the bid. My wife was impressed with Ted's explanation and careful measurements when he came to inspect the job. The bid wasn't the lowest bid, but it was very reasonable. All things considered, I felt it was the best bid. The bid was to complete the job, including painting the block, in two days for the quoted price. Jason and Eddie started work on the job on September 23rd. They did not finish until September 28th. This is why Chimney Professionals gets a 4 instead of a 5. Jason and Eddie were careful, dedicated, and professional in what they did. At the end of the job, Jason's painting made the beds look beautiful. Jason carefully explained to me what he did. He pointed out a slight mistake in the work that, to be honest, I could not see at all. If I can't see the mistake, and if it's not going to be a problem (I'm not going to live in the bed, after all), then I'm not going to dock points for it. In all respects except timing, the job was a 5. But when you tell me you can do the job in 2 days and it takes 6 days, I will dock you at least a point. In the future, if I need masonry work, I will definitely consider Chimney Professionals and Masonry Experts, LLC. Also, if I have friends or family who need masonry or chimney work done, I will recommend Chimney Professionals and Masonry Experts, LLC. I've attached photos of the beds for people to see. They are crooks! We hired them in 2020 when we moved into our new home, to inspect our chimney and bring it up to code. They did the work and replaced the liner, charging over $6,000. They guaranteed their work for life, as long as we used them for our annual cleaning. When we contacted them for our cleaning this year, the number was disconnected. The website listed a location near Cleveland, and when I called them, they denied any connection to the Columbus location, saying they just bought the rights to their name and their website. They would not discuss any work that was done through the Columbus location. We hired a new company, Backburns, to do the annual cleaning. They shared photos with us of a rope that was left across the chimney, as well as incomplete work, that they say, is not up to code and is actual a fire hazard. They said any time we use the fireplace we risk having a house fire! They are asking for the same amount to correct the shotty work that Chimney Professionals and Masonry Experts originally did. I filed a complaint with the BBB, but buyer beware. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

Waited a couple weeks to get an appointment at 2pm today. Open my door at 1:45 to find Ted Parker's card in my door and I wasn't there. Called an he returned my call stating he was here at 130. Advised Ted I was watching the game and indeed was home and had gotten no calls at 130. His 330 number did call me this morning 1135, no voicemail. Then continues to say he was here and called me at 130. Why lie. He owns the business but not mine. Called representing his business on his personal number and threatened me to take it down when I'm showing when he called. Even my dog didn't see him at 130. read more

AVOID! WORK NOT UP TO CODE AND WILL NEED REPAIRED! THEY DON'T HONOR THEIR WORK! They did work on our house for the former owners as part of the inspection remediation. Unfortunately, the work was not done to code as we started having issues with our chimney a few months after moving in. When I called Chimney Professionals for help, they refused to offer to repair the work for free or even at a discount. Per their company policy, once ownership of a home transfers they do not honor the warranty. I asked for a sample copy of their contract to verify this, and they refused to send me any sort of agreement unless I contracted them for work. Long story short: 1. Work not done to code. 2. I now need to spend thousands to repair their poor workmanship. 3. They don't honor their work if the house transfers owners. 4. They refuse to be transparent with their terms and conditions. We have this all documented with them via email as well, so we are back up how they are managing their business and honoring their work. read more

Ted and his team were extremely pleasant to work with. They not only repatched and repaired the chimney but they also did a fine job repainting the house. Besides what they were asked to do they also removed brush to get the paint job down right, installed new basement window covers and repaired cracked concrete on our front porch. Ted came out for the inspection (Friday) but didn't have the drone. Rescheduled for Saturday, then rescheduled for Monday afternoon. Never showed. No call. I called and left a voicemail and sent an email. Finally got a call back from the receptionist saying they will refund my inspection fee. Extremely honest!! I called and scheduled for a chimney cleaning and he came out and took a look and said that it didn't need to be cleaned and did not charge me a thing. He even spent quiet a bit of time lighting a very difficult pilot light. I called Chimney Pros because my top damper was getting stuck at the coldest, most inopportune times. I don't know much about it, so I figured it might need cleaned. I called Chimney Pros and they scheduled an appointment weeks sooner than any of the other companies I called. They immediately sent a calendar invite and even called the day before to remind me. On the day of the appointment, Ted showed up about ten minutes early (refreshing to hear, right?) and offered to take a look at things before getting started. He listened to what I had to say and after checking inside and out, he let me know that the reason my damper was getting stuck was because sometimes that type of damper gets frozen. Unfortunately, it's the most energy efficient type of damper, he explained, so the only option was to switch to something less efficient, which also would have been expensive. He said he didn't recommend it and that the chimney didn't need to be cleaned. He then offered a couple tips to help prevent the problem I was having, although nothing will work perfectly. At the end of it all, he didn't even want any money or charge me for his time. Needless to say, he could have quickly gone through the motions, charged me for a pointless chimney cleaning that would not have solved my problem and I would have been none the wiser. Received a fireplace inspection in mid Nov. The representatives that came out were, prompt, friendly, and professional. He told me within a few days they would email me a quote with costs to repair our fireplace. After a week went by I never received any response so I emailed and called twice within a month and a half. Two months later still no response. I guess they don't need the work. I was scheduled for a quote on a Saturday because they had "other work in my area." They called and cancelled same day (after my father had driven two hours to be here for it) because it was raining in Obetz- not near me. They didn't show the Monday after as they stated they would. After repeat calls, no answer, just to leave a voicemail by myself and my husband I get an email a week later stating they can't reschedule because they don't service my area. We had some brickwork repaired and a small brick circle replaced with paving stones. Ted did a great job, showed up as scheduled and let us know when the schedule changed due to weather conditions. As part of the brickwork repair, the existing bricks needed a power wash which made them look like new again. While they were there with the power wash equipment, we mentioned that we were planning to get the side of the house washed as well because it was getting kind of mossy. Ted's wife was there and she did the side of the house for us at no additional charge! There were no unexpected charges and the cost was reasonable. Always get a second estimate and be wary of discount language for same day service. I believe I was overcharged to reseal the top liners of my chimney (several hundred dollars and was unable to recoup the overcharges from the company). If I had got a second estimate before work was done I would have saved a lot of money. The Chimney Pro & Masonry Experts employee I worked with (Kendrick) was very nice and had told me if I had services done that day instead of having someone come back to do the work, I would get a significant discount. He may legitimately have been giving me a discount based on The Chimney Pro & Masonry Experts pricing of services, but upon further research this company overcharged for this service provided. I had a second company review the service with their estimate after the fact (with no knowledge of The Chimney Pro & Masonry Experts price it was more than $600 dollars less estimated for the work done to reseal the top liners). My partner and I did reach out to the company about partial reimbursement and then to the BBB. The Chimney Pro & Masonry Experts did not reimburse and did not justify their pricing, they just stated that I had signed off on the work so they would not partially reimburse for service costs. The BBB was unable to assist further as dissatisfaction with The Chimney Pro & Masonry Experts pricing falls out of their scope of services. I am in no way stating that Kendrick did not do a good job, that he was unfriendly (he was very nice), or that the services provided were not quality work. I actually rated him high for his interaction (a rating for my experience with him and not for the company to clarify). I am suggesting to do your research with a second estimate in lieu of same day service discount offerings, review Chimney Pro's profile on bbb.org and make sure you get the cost of services provided lined out (materials, labor, etc.). I hope this helps to save some folks some money and the company to reevaluate some of their pricing standards. read more
