The chicken here is absolutely delicious! The tenders were our favorite. We tried a variety of their sauces and flavors and all of them were delicious. We will have to try some more of the spicy ones next time. Service was wonderful, the food was made to order quickly, and the price is portions are very generous. They have some outside seating and easy parking as well. Highly recommended if you are looking for some quality chicken cooked perfectly!

I enjoyed this chicken because, hear me out, each piece was breaded and fried to perfection. How do I know?...because when chicken is fried correctly at the perfect temperature the chicken is juicy without making the box sopping w grease. This is fried chicken executed with delicious caring food wisdom! The staff are super cool as well!

Had a craving for Korean fried chicken and noticed Chimmelier had recently opened a location within walking distance of my place. My partner and I ordered the 20 piece wings to share for dinner and went with the yang yum flavor. The sweet chili gochujang sauce was incredibly flavorful and had the perfect balance of sweet + savory, garlicky, and just the right amount of heat. Loved how perfectly crispy it was despite it being a saucy wing. The service was friendly, our food came out quickly, and they have a good amount of outdoor seating out front if you want to enjoy the weather. Safe to say this hit the spot. I'll definitely be back to try out their other wing flavors.

I tried their honey butter chicken wings and omg , like new jeans said, they are delicious. You must try it. The flavor is so good. I sure want to try their other products now.

Food 5/5: wow honestly we thought it was better than Ktown one. Juicy and tender chicken literally melted in our mouth. Sauce was yangnyum gochujang wowowoww. You gotta try both sandwich and chicken by itself. Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Highlyyyyy recommend if you are in Weho Melrose area and don't wanna drive to ktwon.

Shrimp toast may be over done but it is good!

Chimmelier- ROUND TWO! I came by for dinner and tried it out for the second time, this time, having it made to order. At 6pm on a Tuesday, I lucked out and found metered parking. I ordered 5 Yang'yum wings combo, with seasoned fries with a small order of shrimp toasts. Let me tell you, the portion was HUGE! Very generous serving and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. The wings were sauced up perfectly. The Yang'yum is sweet, not hot at all. They do have a spicy version of this sauce. The wings are crispy in the breading and the meat was moist. The shrimp toast may be a bit overcooked but it was delicious! I get it why it is popular. Chimmelier on Melrose is perfect for us in Mid City and don't have a chance to get to Koreatown.

Obsessed!! I don't get to eat a lot of fried foods for dietary reasons but when. Treat myself this is my go to. The OMFG flavored wings!! My fav!!

Chimmelier is a hit!! Super casual dining, fast food style but homey. Parking for this location is on the street like any other LA spots. Very small spot but if you avoid lunch and dinner times you will be solid! The service is very good with thorough menu explanation and they don't rush you :) their chicken combo is great as well as the SHRIMP TOAST!!! Must try. You have options for alchy so you can get the chicken wings with beer or yogurt soju (try it out you won't regret). Definitely recommend this spot! Or other chummier too :)

Overall Experience (9/10) - I love this Korean fried chicken place. The food was wonderful and we got free food and we also got free food too. The service was good and the people were nice. The store had a lot of seating and the ambiance was nice too. It was just street parking in the neighborhood. Food - The chicken wings were crispy and had a nice flavor. The soy garlic flavor was well balanced. The spice and sweet gochujang flavor was well balance and not too spicy. The kimchi friend rice was a bit spicy and had a stronger spice flavor for a kimchi Overall - The food was wonderful and the service was good. I would return back to the for more food. I also came for the grand opening and tried their food and it was wonderful so I came back again.

I was so excited to try Chimmelier after having another location bookmarked for so long, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. It was slow. In a near empty restaurant our order still took over 30 minutes. Our food finally came out and looked amazing. Bit into a fry and it was cold. The outside was nice and hot and crispy, but the inside was still cold/frozen. They graciously took it back and made another batch, but it was a rocky start after a long wait. As a big fan of Korean fried chicken, I'm sad to say the chicken wings were not good. The wings were well fried and crunchy, but were severely under seasoned and the batter was super dry and powdery, like there was too much flour or corn starch. I think they forgot the salt. The yangyum sauced wings were better, but still couldn't mask the bland chicken meat inside. The good-The chicken sandwich is great and really saved the meal. It was huge and came with juicy chicken that was well seasoned and had unique burger toppings. The workers were friendly and the space is a chill hangout spot. Hoping I just came on an off day when everything just went wrong, but I'm not rushing to revisit anytime soon.

Ventured out to try this restaurant on a night that I had a huge craving for Korean fried chicken and I wasn't disappointed! Chimmelier was easy to locate and parking was no issue. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the staff who were super nice and explained how we could either order with them or through the screen. Food was delicious! We ordered the 8 piece chicken wings with fries. The sauces were the star point and I loved trying each one to see which one paired better with my chicken and fries. I love the overall concept of the restaurant. It has a fun vibe and the great music added to it as well. There's a good amount of seating which my friend and I took advantage of. We will definitely be back!

Scrumptious! Excellent, friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful customer service! Great vibes inside; colorful not stale decor and nice tunes on the speakers to enjoy if dining in. Now onto the food, ordered the chicken burger with fries and thoroughly handled that combo like the most pleasant self inflicted culinary light-work one could give their self. Top note: chicken was so moist and juicy, it was almost fluffy..and the seasoning was more savory & sweet forward with a tiny bit of spice in rear. Fried had similar seasoning so there wasn't any contrast but came with dipping sauces so that allowed for some variety. Great experience and would surely revisit.

Garlic aioli

So good! I ordered the popcorn chicken to share with my kids and it was amazing! Chunks of juicy chicken, all white meat, and seasoned fries. It comes with a delicious sauce that reminds me of raising canes sauce, but it's better in my opinion. We also tried the garlic aioli, which was really good with the fries. You can dine in and they'll take your order at the table, or you can order to go on the kiosk. They offer other Korean street food snacks, chicken sandwiches, and fried chicken. The storefront was upbeat and vibrant. We will definitely return. It's nice to have another food option on Melrose that's open late.

Reviews are largely positive. People praise the crispy, juicy fried chicken, chicken burgers and sandwiches, and popular sides. The flavorful sauces and fun, vibrant atmosphere also stand out.

The lot is a little emptier now that Sun Nong Dan moved out, but I HATE that they've also started running effectively a parking valet scam as well (aka bring cash in your car and you must hand the keys over). Naengmyeon broth is peak with the depth from the beef bones and sweetness as well. Perfectly chewy noodles and the serving size is huge!

They've mastered the art of keeping Korean flavors while dropping in modern twists that totally elevate every dish. The braised galbi served on a spread of mashed potatoes with various mushrooms is a total masterpiece. The zabuton is also one of my favorites if you like an asado and plenty of garlic. The golden chicken nuggets with seaweed powder on top are so perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. I have to admit the corn cheese egg rolls are probably my favorite thing on the menu, something as simple like a mozzarella stick type of appetizer just really hits it for me. And one of my favorite cocktails of all time. The staff is always so nice every time. They're attentive and honest with us if we are over-ordering. The ambiance is elite, even after renovation. If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
