I've been coming here since relocating to Carrollton several years ago and have followed to their new location. The only thing that held me back from visiting as often was their sauce to noodle portion had been too much for my liking. I was SO PLEASANTLY surprised today! I ordered the chicken pad see ew and it was delicious and tasty -- just the way I like it. This place was HORRIBLE!!!! Warning stay away. After finding a fly in my food I am no longer a fan!!! The customer service was terrible. The manager said well you ate some of the food so we can't refund you!!! I said but there was a fly in my food how did it get there??? I could caught a disease or become sick. I could not believe what was happening. I called the local police deportment and also filed a report with the food environmental services in Dallas. I just hope no else ever has to deal with this. Great intimate restaurant right off Old Denton! Our service was excellent and my chicken pad thai was bomb. I asked for it 4/5 spicy on the spiciness scale, and it was lovely. The tables are close together, which I'm completely fine with. The couple next to us was on a first date and had an interesting conversation about a C.S. Lewis book I'm not familiar with. For 35 minutes they discussed themes and controversies surrounding the books' characters. Homeboy must have mad game because I could never pull that conversation off on a first date. After doing some moving to get my aunt into her new place, I turned to Yelp to find us some decent dinner nearby. I came across Chilli Thai and read great reviews, so we decided to go for it. The lady on the phone was nice. We ended up ordering Basil Shrimp, Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Spring Rolls. The order was ready quickly and they gave us some takeout dishes since we hadn't unpacked hers yet. The food was a little on the pricier side. We dug right in to the spring rolls as soon as we got back to the house. They were good! The shrimp still had tails on, which is sort of a fail for me... but overall the meal was ok. There didn't seem to be much chicken in the pad thai. I was disappointed since the reviews were so good, and we really wanted to find a great new place. Ah well.. maybe next time! read more

I normally do take-out so I don't have much to say about the atmosphere or service, but through my brief take-out experiences they seem pretty friendly. As far as food goes, it's pretty good! So thankful for Chili Thai, one of our favorite Thai places around. Of course its BYOB so that is always a plus, the food and the service was wonderful. Our last visit to this wonderful spot we had the fried soft shell crab with garlic sauce and the wife had the Panang, both dishes very tasty. Dined here twice and can't bring myself to go a third time. I've had the Spicy Basil Fried Rice and found it overly moist and bland. The Young Ginger with chicken was also quite watery and had only a hint of ginger flavor to it. At each visit I requested a medium level of spiciness - 3 of 5. The rice dish had a couple of mild chili bits, but the Young Ginger was completely free of any spiciness. The only dish I enjoyed was the Vegetarian Fresh Roll. Served with a thick peanut sauce it was a good starter, but couldn't make up for the weak entrees. Great food but not worth the horrible service experience I just had. We had a table of five, and only 3 of us got our food. They didn't notice until after the 3 finished their food. Really bad communication, and they charged us a 18% required gratuity fee which added insult to hangry injury. I get it was a busy night but come on it us two hours to get 3/5 meals. Will never know how the food taste because we never got past how rude and condescending the waitress was. Was there 10 minutes and she never waited on us. A gentleman arrived after we did, not only did she take his order but brought him water. So yummy! Lots of options for the vegan and meat eater. I had the Penang Coconut Curry, level 4 spice, with tofu, and it did not disappoint. I should have known when the lady next to me had a plate full of pad thai she barely touched. The service sucked, was totally not worth the 18% gratuity they tagged onto our bill before the discount we had. Their "Thai chicken wings" were not great at all... I ordered the chicken pad thai...my noodles were severely under cooked, and on the salty side. My hubby ordered the red curry, which I thought was watery...he said it was just "ok" The only reason I give it 3 stars is because their tom yum was delicious! I've had worse Thai food, but I've also had a lot better. Great food - quick delivery! I live in the Carrollton area and love Chili Thai! The food is really great, friendly service when you order and quick delivery which is awesome. We order the Tiger Cry which is a really great cut of meat with no fat... We were excited to find something different that delivers other than regular ol' Chinese food or pizza. They have recently moved into a new location, which is much nicer than the old place, but a little harder to see from the road. Well worth the hunt. Chilli Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in DFW and without question the best in Carrollton/Lewisville. The Red Curry Level 5 (spicy) will set your mouth on fire and have you coming back for more! We have lunch here at least once a week. Highly recommended. read more

In attempts to eat here, when I did, I wasn't satisfied. Before I forget. Here in a side note. This place has a sign in the window with the letters "BYOB". Didn't quite hit me until I got ready to order. You don't have to "Bring Your Own Beverage" but then you will be limited to what they have. No juice. Kids are out of luck. Good thing there was a gas station next door. Now on to the food. Lest be real. It wasn't 4-Star worthy. I decided to keep it simple. Got chicken. You can't mess up chicken, right!? Wrong! I don't know what the hell I got but it wasn't edible. The fried rice was ok. We got wings as well. Not worth it. In the end this would be a place I would go back to. Took a dogy bag of the left overs but never are them. No one wanted to finish off that mess. Just keep in mind that you shouldn't keep your hopes high. This restaurant is tucked in a corner of a small strip mall. We were seated promptly. The place is small but maintained well. We got the curried fried rice with chicken and curried noodles with tofu. The food was very good. The curried noodles reminded us of Indian food - very different from the curried noodles we had at other restaurants, but very very good. I am surprised that this place doesn't have a 5-stars review rating across all its diners. I am an extremely critical person when it comes to eating out and the cleanliness of the restaurants I eat at. In addition to the food being exceptionally tasty at Chilli Thia, the place is immaculate. The kitchen area (which, you look straight through when you walk into the restaurant), dining room, and restrooms are spotless. The food is great, and the service is friendly. I also appreciate that it is a BYOB and love bringing in my own bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner. Really great takeout Thai close to home with delivery!!! We had the bikini shrimp and steamed dumplings for apps, both were great. I also had a small Tom kha soup, and it was probably the best Tom kha I've ever had. I ordered the chicken laad naa, and it was yummy - broccoli, black bean sauce, chicken. Hubby had the chefs special tilapia filet and it was great also- he got the garlic sauce with it, and asked for it on the side. What can I say? Everything was phenomenal. Ok.....Service can be just as big a part of a meal....so that's why I'm going to give this place a 2. I ordered delivery, and the very nice, very sweet delivery woman showed up with NO CHANGE. Essentially, she got over a 40% tip on my order....which....essentially could have bought an entire other entree....lame. FOOD WISE: Pad Kee Mao...really good! I have ordered a couple of take out orders from here and have been happy both times. I always order the cashew nut dish when available at Thai places and this place is no different. It is really good but the portion size could be bigger. I will also warn you that their spice level (1-5) has not been consistent. Yummy!! I love this place! Chili Thai has great food and really good service. I go here often for lunch and they have never been packed busy so the service is relatively quick. I order either the pad Thai or the panang curry, and both are excellent. The chicken is tender and the flavoring in both dishes is spot on. For lunch, they serve their dishes with a small salad or cup of soup, and I always pick the soup. It's usually tom yum or tom kha, and both are great. My new favorite place! I always get their avacado spring roll! Try it! It has the right crisp on the outside and creamy soft flavorful imitation crabsticks with avacado in the inside. The green sauce that is on the top is really good too! Ive tried their pad thai and curry with pineapple and sweet potato inside. Both were very good. So far i liked all my orders. This place is close to our house, so we have become regulars. It's a small restaurant with about 12 tables. Service is always great, especially now that they know us. They are very sweet :) All the main dishes I've tried are great, no complaints there, but their appetizers are not very good. We've tried several of them and they all seem to be pre-made or just not fresh. So now we just skip the appetizer and save more room for their delicious main dishes.
